Exclusive: Segway's Xafari ebike now comes in a bold new color — here's your first look

Segway launched its first ebike, the Segway Xafari, earlier this year, and while it's generally received good reviews, it's a little disappointing that this otherwise good-looking ebike only comes in one color, when many of the best electric bikes are offered in a variety of finishes.
Well, no longer: Segway is announcing that the Xafari will soon be available in crimson red, which is sure to stand out whether you're commuting to work or tooling around town.
'When choosing a new colorway, we wanted to make sure this bike looks as good as it performs, and the new Crimson Red Xafari lets riders make a bold statement every time they hit the road or trail,' said Nick Howe, head of e-bikes for Segway in a press statement. 'It's vibrant, confident and completely in line with the adventurous spirit that defines this bike. We designed Xafari to stand out — now it does that more than ever.'
The red Xafari will be available in August for around the same price as the current Xafari, which is currently marked down to $1,999 from $2,399 at Segway.com. The red Xafari will have all the same specs as the current model.
The Segway Xafari is currently marked down by $400 on Segway's site. It has a top assist speed of 20 MPH and a max range of 88 miles.
We took a test ride of the Xafari and the Segway Xyber, at CES 2025 this past year. Both bikes were a lot of fun to ride, even if the latter was really stretching the definition of "e-bike."
The Xafari has a 750W motor and a 936Wh battery, which the company says is good for up to 88 miles of range. It rides on 26 x 3.0 inch tires with front and rear suspension, hydraulic disc brakes, and supports payloads of up to 352 pounds. However, that translates to a bike that checks in at 92 pounds, so you better make sure that you don't run out of charge far from home.
Other features include electronic locking as well as Apple FindMy, and has five levels of power assist up to 20 MPH. It has daytime running lights, and USB-C and A ports, so you can charge your phone while riding. Its throttle also relies on sensors to increase the motor's output if it detects you're going uphill.

If you've been waiting to pull the trigger on Segway's ebike, you might want to wait a few more weeks to get your hands on the new, red model.

Apple issues security updates to fix zero-day flaw used in Chrome attacks — update your iPhone and Mac right now

Apple users should be sure to update their devices to iOS 18.6, particularly if they're also Chrome users, as the latest software version includes a security patch that addresses a high-severity exploit that has been targeting the browser in zero-day attacks. As reported by Bleeping Computer, the zero-day flaw in question (tracked as CVE-2025-6558) involves an incorrect validation of untrusted input in an open-source graphics abstraction layer. It then processes GPU commands and translates API calls, which enables remote attackers to execute arbitrary code within the browser's GPU process via specially crafted HTML pages. This could potentially allow them to escape the sandbox that isolates browser processes from the underlying operating system. All this to say that, according to BGR, if you don't update Chrome, you could be opening yourself up to being attacked just by visiting a malicious website. Attackers could run code on your device and bypass the protections that normally keep your browser safe and from there perform other malicious activities like running malware on your phone, stealing passwords, deploying ransomware or botnets or recording clipboard or webcam views. The flaw was discovered in June by the Google TAG team and reported to Chrome, who patched it in July and tagged it as actively exploited. As per usual, Google has yet to provide much additional information about the attacks. However, it is well-known that TAG is often responsible for discovering flaws that are exploited by government-sponsored threat actors in targeted campaigns. Apple released WebKit security updates on Tuesday that addressed the vulnerability, which affects iOS 18.6 and iPadOS 18.6, macOS Sequoia 15.6, iPadOS 17.7.9, tvOS 18.6, visionOS 2.6, watchOS 11.6. In its security statement, Apple said that 'Processing maliciously crafted web content may lead to an unexpected Safari crash.' CISA (Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency) added this security bug to its catalog of vulnerabilities known to be exploited in attacks on July 22, requiring federal agencies patch their software by August 12th. Get instant access to breaking news, the hottest reviews, great deals and helpful tips. Updating your phone, computer and of course, your browser, is something you should be doing regularly and a zero-day flaw like this one which could be exploited by hackers in their attacks is exactly the reason why. DUBLIN--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The "Fraud Detection and Prevention (Know Your User), 2025: A Frost RadarT Report" has been added to offering. The fraud detection and prevention (FDP) market has grown significantly, driven by the frequency, sophistication, and volume of fraudulent attacks. The increase in digital transactions as well as companies' digital transformation initiatives have created a large attack surface. Businesses are adopting FDP solutions powered by artificial intelligence and machine learning to protect sensitive data and ensure compliance with regulations, such as the General Data Protection Regulation and Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard. Artificial intelligence and machine learning enhance solution capabilities, offering real-time monitoring and analysis of transactions, pattern identification, biometric authentication, behavioral biometrics, device intelligence, and more. Know your user (KYU) is an essential component of the FDP framework. The KYU approach utilizes behavioral biometrics and authenticates the claimed identity of the user without identifying who the user is. Variables collected during the user's interaction with the device or application are unique and confirm who users say they are. Some of these variables are mouse activity, keystroke pattern, device angle, typing cadence, geolocation, number of touch events, and mouse travel distance. In conjunction with other data, such as geo-location and device intelligence, FDP systems upon identifying a risk may increase user friction and step up authentication. For good customers, passive and continuous authentication throughout the process contributes to a seamless experience. It also enables enterprises to balance the user experience and security. IAG Pretax Profit Rises on Consensus-Beating Revenue

International Consolidated Airlines group said pretax profit rose in the second quarter as revenue beat consensus. The airline group—which houses Iberia, British Airways and Aer Lingus, among others—on Friday said it expects underlying costs to increase due to factors including lower capacity growth. The company said its 2025 capacity growth forecast stood at around 2.5%, subject to the effect of operational challenges.
