Search for ‘armed and dangerous' suspect continues in Southern Kentucky

MONROE COUNTY, Ky. (WKRN) — The Monroe County Sheriff's Department is still searching for a suspect considered 'armed and dangerous' after he fled the scene of a shooting Thursday.
The MCSD responded to a call about a possible shooting on Hickory Ridge Road at about 9:34 a.m. Thursday. When they arrived to the scene, they found that the victim had allegedly been shot by Timmy Jackson with a shotgun. The victim was transported to TJ Samson Community Hospital for non life-threatening injuries.
According to the MCSD, Jackson fled the scene after the incident in a silver 2002 Chevrolet Silverado regular cab pickup truck that had been reported stolen Thursday morning from Mud Camp Road in Burkesville. Although several units responded to the scene and searched the area, they were unable to find him.

As of Thursday evening, Jackson was still at large and considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with information of Jackson's whereabouts has been asked to call the Monroe County Sheriff's Department at 270-487-6622.

Jackson Moms Demand Action and Survivor Connect joined forces on Saturday to hold a Gun Violence Awareness Rally in the capital city. A memorial walk was held followed by testimonies. Krishaun Muldrow, leader of Survivor Connect, said being a survivor of gun violence encouraged her told hold the event. 'Four years ago, I was shot multiple times, and I didn't think I was going to make it. And when I was recovering, I didn't have really a support system. So, I wear orange to be the person that I needed,' Muldrow said. She said gun violence happens everyday and affects may people. 'Every day people are sitting in their homes triggered in trauma, by trauma of the sound of gun violence and whatnot. And nobody's talking about it. Nobody's talking about the affect afterwards that the people have to live and heal from,' Muldrow stated. LEWISBURG, Tenn. (WKRN) — An investigation is underway following a deadly collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian in Lewisburg Friday, according to authorities. The Lewisburg Police Department posted about the incident shortly before 6:30 p.m. on Friday, June 6, saying it took place along Highway 50 near the 7-Eleven. Motorists were urged to avoid the area while first responders and investigators worked the scene. MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Two men have been arrested in connection with a shooting in Mud Island earlier this week, Memphis Police confirmed. Christopher Skelton, 29, and Justin Furnish, 42, are facing a slew of charges for the following incidents: On June 2 at 12:45 p.m., officers responded to a shooting at Island Place East and Island Village Drive. A male victim was taken to Regional One in critical condition. Police said the three suspects were three men in a red Chevrolet Silverado. They said that the suspects cut the victim off and attempted to steal his truck before they shot him and fled. Violent Crime Investigators arrived at the scene and gathered evidence. They determined that the suspect vehicle was stolen from the 1500 block of Monroe earlier that morning. ORIGINAL STORY: 1 injured, 3 suspects flee after Mud Island shooting, robbery On June 3, 2025, at 1:30 p.m., officers responded to a suspicious vehicle in the 100 block of East Holmes Road. The red Chevrolet Silverado was recovered and towed to the city lot. On June 5, 2025, DeSoto County investigators reached out and provided information on this case. VCU was advised that when DeSoto County assisted MPD with the arrests of Christopher Skelton, 29, and Justin Furnish, 42, for unrelated charges on June 2, 2025, the red truck was at the scene.
