SBI Card brings THESE changes to its credit card offerings with effect from Aug 11. Check details

SBI Card has announced a set of changes to a number of its cards with regard to air accident insurance coverage. The proposed changes will come into effect on August 11, 2025.
The credit card users of SBI Card will not have access to complimentary air accident insurance coverage amounting to ₹ one crore on some of the cards starting August 11. These cards are UCO Bank SBI Card ELITE, Central Bank of India SBI Card ELITE, PSB SBI Card ELITE, KVB SBI Card ELITE, KVB SBI Signature Card, and Allahabad Bank SBI Card ELITE.
Likewise, the cardholders of some cards will cease to have access to complimentary air accident insurance coverage of ₹ 50 lakh starting August 11.
The cards which will lose access to this coverage are UCO Bank SBI Card PRIME, Central Bank of India SBI Card PRIME, PSB SBI Card PRIME, KVB SBI Card PRIME, Karur Vysya Bank SBI Platinum Credit Card, South Indian Bank SBI Card PRIME, South Indian Bank SBI Platinum Credit Card, Karnataka Bank SBI Card PRIME, Karnataka Bank SBI Platinum Credit Card, City Union Bank SBI Card PRIME, Allahabad Bank SBI Card PRIME, UBI SBI PLATINUM Credit Card, OBC SBI VISA PLATINUM Card, Federal Bank SBI Platinum Credit Card and BOM SBI PLATINUM Credit Card. It is worth mentioning here that SBI Card introduced similar changes, which came into effect on July 15. The credit card company had discontinued the complimentary Air Accident insurance coverage of ₹ 1 crore offered on SBI Card Miles Elite and SBI Card Miles Prime.
Besides, the complimentary air accident insurance coverage of ₹ 50 lakhs offered on your SBI Card Prime and SBI Card Pulse was also discontinued.

Karnataka Bank Q1 profit falls 27% on higher provisions, capital up

Karnataka Bank on Tuesday reported a 27 per cent year-on-year decline in its net profit to Rs 292.40 crore for the April–June period, mainly due to a rise in provisions. Provisions rose to Rs 110.80 crore in Q1, compared to Rs 40.26 crore in the same period last year. Deposits grew 3.16 per cent year-on-year to Rs 1.03 trillion, while gross advances declined 1.57 per cent to Rs 74,267.02 crore. 'During the period, the bank has registered a moderate Y-o-Y growth in top-line numbers,' said Raghavendra S Bhat, managing director and chief executive officer, Karnataka Bank. 'Our focus will continue to be on RAM [retail, agriculture, micro, small and medium enterprises] segments along with improving low-cost deposits,' he said. On the asset quality front, gross non-performing assets declined to 3.46 per cent from 3.54 per cent. The capital adequacy ratio of the bank improved to 20.46 per cent from 17.64 per cent at the end of Q1 of FY25.

Private sector Karnataka Bank reported a 27% fall in net profit at Rs 292.4 crore in the first quarter of the fiscal as compared with Rs 400.33 crore in the year-ago period, owing to a fall in net interest income and higher provisions. ADVERTISEMENT Provisions and contingencies were more than double at Rs 111 crore against Rs 40 crore in the corresponding quarter last year. The bank's net interest income for the quarter stood at Rs 756 crore, down 16% from the year ago period's Rs 903 crore. The 28% rise in other income at Rs 358 crore against Rs 279 crore could not offset the fall in core income. Consequently, operating profit stood lower at Rs 467 crore against Rs 559 bank, now under interim managing director Raghavendra Srinivas Bhat after the abrupt exit of Srikrishnan Hari Hara Sarma, saw its gross advances portfolio contracting 1.6% year-on-year to Rs 74267 crore at the end of book quality improved with gross non-performing assets ratio falling to 3.46% from 3.54% a year back.
