Ammon News - Elon Musk says that his artificial intelligence company xAI 'will take immediate legal action' against Apple for allegedly manipulating its App Store rankings to the advantage of rival AI apps. In a series of X posts on Monday night, Musk suggested that Apple was 'playing politics' by not placing either X or xAI's Grok chatbot in the App Store's list of recommended iOS apps, and that he had no choice but to file a lawsuit. 'Apple is behaving in a manner that makes it impossible for any AI company besides OpenAI to reach #1 in the App Store, which is an unequivocal antitrust violation,' Musk said. 'Why do you refuse to put either X or Grok in your 'Must Have' section when X is the #1 news app in the world and Grok is #5 among all apps?,' the xAI CEO asked Apple in another post, which is now pinned to his profile. Musk provided no evidence for his claims, and it's unclear if he has made good on his threats and filed the lawsuit yet. An Apple statement reported by Bloomberg and attributed to an unnamed spokesperson says the App Store is 'designed to be fair and free of bias… we feature thousands of apps through charts, algorithmic recommendations and curated lists selected by experts using objective criteria.' The Verge has also reached out to xAI and OpenAI for comment. At the time of writing, ChatGPT is listed as Apple's top free iPhone app in the US, with Grok ranked as the sixth. China's DeepSeek AI briefly managed to take the top App Store position from ChatGPT in January, however, disproving Musk's claim that it would be impossible for other AI apps to do so. Accusations of meddling from Musk are ironic, given allegations about alterations made to X after he acquired the company in 2022, then known as Twitter. A research study in 2024 suggested that X's algorithm was manipulated to boost posts from Musk's account. OpenAI CEO Sam Altman responded to Musk's posts by sharing a Platformer report from 2023 that similarly found Musk had a system built to promote his X posts to the entire platform's userbase. In June, the 'maximally truth-seeking' Grok chatbot was also found to be consulting Musk's opinion before providing answers to controversial questions around topics like Israel and Palestine, US immigration, and abortion. This isn't the first time that Musk has beefed with Apple and OpenAI. Musk was an early founder at OpenAI, and previously targeted the AI startup via lawsuits and a unanimously rejected $97.4 billion buyout offer after taking issue with its pivot to being a profit-driven business. Threads surpassed 400 million monthly active users
Ammon News - Just two years since its launch as a competitor to Twitter (now X), Meta's Threads has topped 400 million monthly active users (MAUs), Instagram head Adam Mosseri announced on Tuesday. 'As of a few weeks ago [there are] more than 400 million people active on Threads every month,' Mosseri wrote. 'It's been quite the ride over the last two years. This started as a zany idea to compete with Twitter, and has evolved into a meaningful platform that fosters the open exchange of perspectives. I'm grateful to all of you for making this place what it is today. There's so much work to do from our side, more to come.' The new milestone means that Threads was able to add 50 million monthly users in the past quarter, as Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg had announced in the last week of April that the platform had reached more than 350 million monthly active users. X, meanwhile, has north of 600 million monthly active users, according to previous statements made by its former CEO, Linda Yaccarino. Recent data from market intelligence provider Similarweb showed that Threads is nearing X's daily app users on mobile devices. In June 2025, Threads' mobile app for iOS and Android saw 115.1 million daily active users, marking a 127.8% increase compared to the previous year. On the other hand, X reached 132 million daily active users, reflecting a 15.2% year-over-year decline. However, Similarweb found that X's worldwide daily web visits are well ahead of Threads, as the Elon Musk-owned social network saw 145.8 million average daily web visits worldwide in June, while Threads had just 6.9 million.

The Vocational Training Corporation (VTC) announced the opening of the admission and registration process for the most in-demand vocational specialties in the labor market for the 2025–2026 academic year, starting tomorrow, Monday, through the official electronic platform: اضافة اعلان In a statement issued today, Sunday, the Corporation urged all students—graduates of the General Secondary Education Certificate, holders of diplomas, university graduates seeking employment, as well as those who have not completed their studies and wish to acquire vocational and technical skills enabling them to enter the local, regional, and international labor markets—to enroll in the Corporation's programs offered at all its institutes spread across various governorates of the Kingdom. The Corporation confirmed its readiness to provide technical support to applicants through vocational counselors available at all its institutes across the governorates, assisting those facing difficulties completing the digital registration process. This aims to facilitate young men and women's enrollment in vocational specialties that meet their aspirations and enhance their employment opportunities locally and regionally through 32 training institutes distributed throughout the governorates. The Corporation has also designated a hotline to respond to inquiries from prospective applicants, in addition to providing technical support via WhatsApp at the number: 0798137070, to offer immediate assistance and answer all questions related to the registration process. Dr. Ahmed Al-Ghraibeh, the Director General of the Corporation, explained that the electronic registration step is a continuation of the digital transformation efforts pursued by the Corporation and the use of the latest digital technologies to enhance the concept of digital citizenship, in line with international standards. He added that the Corporation works to provide a modern training environment that facilitates trainees' access to registration and electronic payment services and helps build a comprehensive digital database of trainees and the specialties required in the labor market, thereby enhancing the Corporation's ability to design training programs that meet the needs of the national economy. Al-Ghraibeh clarified that the Corporation has completed all preparations to receive new trainees in the diverse training programs covering various vocational and technical specialties. He confirmed that the admission and registration plan relies entirely on online applications via the approved link: which has been published on official platforms and media outlets to ensure the announcement reaches the largest number of targeted groups across all regions of the Kingdom. He pointed out that the Corporation's strategic plan aligns with the goals of the upcoming economic modernization vision for the 2026–2029 phase, which focuses on developing and qualifying national cadres, aligning training programs with the changing needs of the labor market, in addition to raising trainers' competencies through continuous development programs and updating the infrastructure, laboratories, and workshops in training institutes to be attractive environments equipped with the latest technologies. He added that the Corporation continues to expand vocational and technical training programs, rehabilitate institutes, and equip them with modern tools to keep pace with technological progress, alongside developing partnership mechanisms with the private sector to provide practical training opportunities and enhance graduates' readiness for the labor market. Through its strategic partnerships with the private sector and civil society institutions, in addition to ongoing cooperation with international organizations, the Corporation designs training programs focused on equipping trainees with the necessary practical and technical skills. These programs are employment-oriented and aim to create real and non-traditional job opportunities that meet the requirements of the local and regional labor markets, support the national economy, and develop the capabilities of youth seeking sustainable employment opportunities. For his part, Dr. Darrar Al-Rawashdeh, Director of Admissions and Registration at the Corporation, confirmed that trainees enrolled in the training programs will receive accredited certificates recognized locally and internationally, with a variety of programs that ensure trainees acquire practical and technical skills meeting labor market needs.
