Yahoo08-07-2025
The countdown is on to Pembrokeshire's longest-running carnival, which is the culmination of a week of community activities in its town.
Narberth Carnival will take to the streets on Saturday, July 26, and is the highlight of Narberth Civic Week which gets underway on Sunday, July 20.
This years' family-friendly event will feature plenty of Civic Week traditions such as the Pram Push (weather permitting).

The week will also see the return of old favourites such as the Fire Services Open Day, the ever-popular Civic Week pub quiz and Milford Haven Town Band's 'Brass on the Grass' on the Town Moor.
There will also be new events introduced this year, including Parkour sessions and as Teddy Bears' Picnic – the latter of which will be raising money to refurbish the town's much-loved play park.

Chris Walters, chairman of Narberth Civic Week and Carnival said: 'Civic Week has always been about bringing people together and celebrating the incredible sense of community we have here in Narberth.
"It's a time when the town comes alive with events, music, laughter and colour, and it's something we're very proud to continue each year.
He thanked the members of the small Civic Week committee for their tireless efforts, and also to the members of the public for their messages of support.

Chris added: "It really does mean so much to know people care about keeping these traditions alive."
The parade theme for the carnival is Anything Goes', but shops, pubs and restaurants in the town have been challenged to bring even more fun to the streets with their own Pirates & Captains theme.
Chris continued: "I'd encourage everyone to come along, take part and support our local businesses and volunteers who make this possible.
"Narberth Civic Week belongs to the whole community – let's make it another one to remember.'

Stunning 100 acre estate in 'prime Winnie the Pooh country' on sale for £5.5m

A stunning country estate in "prime Winnie the Pooh country" is on sale for £5,500,000. The property, known as Top Hill Farm, is in Hartfield, on the edge of Ashdown Forest. The stories of Winnie the Pooh were inspired by A.A. Milne's adventures through the forest with his son Christopher Robin. Top Hill Farm, a part of this cherished landscape, has now been listed by Savills after being in the same ownership for the last 35 years. The estate comprises a main house, an external office or playroom, and various facilities including stables, a barn and a recently rebuilt indoor riding arena. The estate covers more than 100 acres (Image: Savills) There is also a two-bedroom detached lodge cottage, a granny flat above the garage, and a one-bedroom annexe. While Winnie the Pooh took place in the fictional setting 100 Acre Wood, Top Hill Farm contains 100 acres of its own. Surrounding the main house is 100 acres of land, including paddocks, gardens, a walled water garden, a private pool area and woodlands. Savills director Edward Wain-Heapy said: "Top Hill Farm is in prime Winnie the Pooh country, and with its very own 100 acres, offers an incoming family a lifetime full of adventures. "The main house has the most spectacular views across Ashdown Forest, and its accommodation could be adapted to suit a buyer's requirements. The property borders on Ashdown Forest (Image: Savills) "In what is the centenary year of Winnie the Pooh first being published as a story in the London Evening News, this sale provides an exciting opportunity for someone to take on a country estate in a special and sought-after East Sussex location." The main house is described as "generously proportioned" and "ideal for family living". It is situated up a long private driveway in an elevated position with "lovely views to the rear" and away from neighbours. The first floor has eight bedrooms and three bathrooms, with a fourth bathroom on the second floor. In total, the land amounts to about 104 acres, predominantly of fenced paddocks, but with beautiful mature gardens which surround the main house, including a partially walled water garden and a yew-hedge enclosed and private pool area.

Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle is releasing early in the US, but with a catch – and it involves the highest tiers of Crunchyroll subscriptions

When you buy through links on our articles, Future and its syndication partners may earn a commission. Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle is getting an early release in North America, but only for those who have signed up to the higher membership tiers on anime streamer Crunchyroll. As revealed by Crunchyroll, 250 theaters will host "limited" screenings on September 9 for Mega and Ultra Fan subscribers. That arrives three days before the general release of the Demon Slayer movie in the US and UK on September 12. Adapting the Infinity Castle manga arc, the new anime movie sees shonen protagonist Tanjiro dive headfirst into the belly of the beast – the titular Infinity Castle, where a legion of demons (led by series Big Bad Muzan Kibutsuji) lies in wait. The Infinity Castle movie, subtitled Akaza's Revenge in Japan, is set to be the first of a trilogy of feature films designed to bring the Demon Slayer story to a close. The first Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle reviews have been slightly mixed, though that hasn't dampened the spirits of moviegoers as the Ufotable-animated feature smashed all kinds of box office records in Japan, including the best single day for tickets sold and the highest-grossing opening weekend in history. In a surprise move, Channing Tatum has joined the English-language cast as Keizo, Akaza's former master – though not everyone is pleased by the Deadpool and Wolverine actor's inclusion. Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle kicks off a packed fall season for anime, which also includes the Chainsaw Man movie, One-Punch Man season 3, and Spy x Family season 3, among others.
