Jazan honey festival attracts customers
RIYADH: The 10th edition of the Jazan Honey Festival, held at the Cultural Center Square in Al-Edabi Governorate, gave local beekeepers the opportunity to display more than 50 tonnes of the finest honey varieties.
Organized by the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture branch in the region in cooperation with Al-Edabi Governorate, the aim of the festival is to boost the local economy, develop the beekeeping and honey production sector, support the honey industry and preserve a long-standing profession in the region, the Saudi Press Agency reported.
Visitors to the festival can choose from a wide variety of honeys, including sidr, qitad, salam, samra, doum, dhahyan, talh, marrar, majra, sahah and others.
The region is renowned for producing about 15 types of honey throughout the year, with an annual production exceeding 1,000 tonnes.
The festival is one of the most important events of the Jazan Winter Season 2025, with honey sales exceeding SR12 million ($3.2 million) over the past nine editions.
The SPA reported that the festival will run until Nov. 11 and is expected to attract a large number of visitors and shoppers, with sales this season expected to exceed SR3.5 million.

Diriyah Celebrates Eid Al-Adha with Vibrant Festivities
The Diriyah Gate Development Authority celebrated Eid Al-Adha with a wide range of joyful, educational and entertaining events, according to the Saudi Press Agency. The festivities started after the Eid prayers, with mosques celebrating the aroma of Saudi coffee and the essence of traditional hospitality. In the afternoon, the activities of the historic At-Turaif and Al-Dhuwaihra districts began. At At-Turaif, visitors wrote their names in Diriyah script, watched stunning horse shows and identified the most famous breeds of purebred Arabian horses. Meanwhile, Adhwaihrah offered various interesting festivities across several roads such as Dirab Road, Aba Al-Qad Road (known today as Al-Qiddiya Road), and Sabaa' Al-Malaf Road. Moreover, it lunched the 'Diriyah Taste' initiative at Dirab Road to highlight authentic local flavors through a vast array of traditional dishes. At Aba Al-Qad Road, visitors enjoyed interactive traditional games and toured a special exhibition highlighting the Hajj and caravan routes that traversed Diriyah. On Sabaa' Al-Malaf Road, visitors captured cherished memories, painted henna and attended Diriyah calligraphy workshops. Families flock to Baha festivities to beat summer heat this Eid
RIYADH: As temperatures rise across Saudi Arabia, the Baha region has become a popular holiday destination, opening 80 parks, 30 tourist sites, 20 rural farms and 25 heritage locations to attract visitors seeking cooler weather during Eid Al-Adha. The mountainous region's moderate climate has made it appealing to families and young travelers looking to escape the heat affecting other parts of the Kingdom during the holiday, a Saudi Press Agency report said. Ali Al-Sawat, mayor of Baha, outlined preparations for the expected visitor increase. Municipal teams carried out maintenance of public facilities, upgraded lighting, improved landscaping, enhanced main roads and public squares, installed interactive displays and sculptures, and supported volunteer teams. Authorities stepped up cleaning and environmental health efforts while increasing monitoring of food establishments, Al-Sawat said. The holiday program includes more than 50 cultural, entertainment, community events and volunteer initiatives, such as gift and flower distributions, children's theater performances at Raghdan, Al-Hussam and Al-Hawiya parks, digital displays, charity visits to the elderly and patients, appearances by cartoon characters, and volunteer support for organization, cleaning and pilgrims. In a gesture to Hajj pilgrims, authorities will distribute 3,000 roses and umbrellas in Baha, each with QR codes linking to pilgrimage guidance developed with regional Hajj coordination offices. The region's 20 rural farms attract families with recreational facilities set in agricultural environments, the SPA reported. Fahd Al-Zahrani, regional director of the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture, said that his office regulated and supported these farms, issued licenses for rural lodges according to regulations, and helped operators to access government programs, including the Sustainable Agricultural Rural Development initiative. Baha's 25 architectural heritage sites highlight the national identity by showcasing ancient civilizations and contribute to the local economy. These sites continue to attract domestic and international visitors interested in Saudi Arabia's cultural heritage, the SPA added.
