Steelers' Jonnu Smith reflects on fight with Juan Thornhill at training camp
Following practice, reporters asked Smith about the physical altercations that occurred between himself and Thornhill — and after attempting to shrug it off with short answers, he opened up more about why the fight wasn't as dramatic as many are making it out to be.
"Listen, we're teammates, man," Smith told reporters. "We ain't got no personal beef or nothing like that. We out here competing, you know what I mean? We having fun. It gets competitive when you lose and when you win. We've been doing this for a long time, and we want to win. It brings certain characteristics out in us. We understand that we can't take this into Sunday — so, we can let it out here in training camp."
Ex-Steelers WR George Pickens clearly never got the memo — as he definitely took his liberties with fights on Sundays during his time in Pittsburgh.
Jokes aside, Smith's attitude in dealing with tough questions regarding a touchy subject is commendable — exactly the veteran presence and leadership that has been sorely missed on the Steelers' offense over the past several years.

Spartan Stadium gets minor upgrades, updates ahead of upcoming 2025 season
It appears the updates to Spartan Stadium are going to be wrapped up just in time for opening kickoff later this month. Spartan Stadium has gone through a facelift this offseason, with some minimal but notable updates to the home of Michigan State football. The official Michigan State University social media account posted a few pictures of the updates being made to Spartan Stadium this offseason, with the notable items being related to the scoreboards and east side of the stadium. In the post below, you'll see that the Spartan helmet logo has been updated on the two scoreboards on the south side of Spartan Stadium. Additionally, one notable fan account -- OdellBretthamJr -- pointed out that the east side of the stadium (the worst looking spot of the stadium) has been painted to make it look better. Check out the pictures of the new look Spartan Stadium below: As I mentioned off the top, these are minor updates but certainly nice touches. Especially the east side that got a new paint job. Michigan State will open its doors to Spartan Stadium for the first time this season on August 29 in the season-opener against Western Michigan. Watch Rams WR Puka Nacua surprise NFL rookies with message and signed jersey
Every NFL rookie has players they watched growing up — either right before they entered the league or throughout their childhood. These stars helped shaped who they became as players, and some will even be peers now. Some of the league's current and legendary stars gave to those rookies in an awesome "welcome to the league" video from Fanatics, where NFL rookies were surprised with a message and a signed jersey. Los Angeles Rams receiver Puka Nacua was a featured player who sent a message to some of the top first-round receivers like the Carolina Panthers' Tetairoa McMillan and the Green Bay Packers' Matthew Golden. Other NFL legends were also featured. Take a watch: It's a bit odd to see Nacua featured in a video that includes legendary players like Tom Brady and Hall of Famers like Peyton Manning, but his meteoric rise after just two seasons is also a testament to how quickly a young player can ascend to the top of his craft. Nacua was just a fifth-round pick before he broke out as a rookie and set NFL records. It's funny, too, that Nacua sent a message to McMillan after the Rams reportedly tried to trade up for the ex-Arizona receiver. This is a moment all the rookies will remember when they start their NFL careers. Perhaps McMillan will wear his signed Nacua jersey when the Rams face the Panthers in Charlotte in Week 13.

Steelers sign DB Daryl Porter Jr.
The Steelers signed the son of one of their former draft choices on Tuesday. The team announced the addition of defensive back Daryl Porter Jr. to the roster. They waived tight end Kevin Foelsch in a corresponding move. Porter signed with the Bills after going undrafted out of Miami this year. He was waived by the Bills ahead of training camp, however, and will now try to do something that his father wasn't able to do. The Steelers drafted safety Daryl Porter Sr. in the sixth round in 1997, but he never appeared in a regular season game for the team. He did go on to play 55 games for the Lions, Bills, and Titans.
