Conspiracy to derail Rajdhani Exp foiled

Hans India21-05-2025

Hardoi: A major attempt to derail two express trains, including the Rajdhani Express, was foiled in Uttar Pradesh's Hardoi district thanks to the alertness and quick response of the loco pilots, officials said on Tuesday.
The first incident occurred on the evening of May 19 between Dalel Nagar and Umrauli stations when the loco pilot of the New Delhi-bound Rajdhani Express noticed an unusual obstruction on the track.
Authorities said miscreants had tied a wooden block -- described as a gutkha -- to the earthing wire on the down line. The pilot immediately applied the brakes, bringing the train to a halt and averting a potential disaster.
Railway personnel promptly removed the obstruction and informed senior railway officials. However, even before the situation could fully stabilise, miscreants struck again.
Shortly after the Rajdhani Express had passed safely, a second attempt was made to derail the Kathgodam Express on the same stretch. This attempt too was thwarted by the vigilance of its loco pilot, who spotted the obstruction -- this time reportedly comprising iron pieces and wood -- and stopped the train in time.
Upon receiving information, personnel from the Government Railway Police (GRP), Railway Protection Force (RPF), and local police reached the site and launched an investigation.
Circle Officer (CO) of Baghauli, Praveen Kumar, said the GRP had alerted Kachhauna police station about suspicious activity on the tracks between Kachhauna and Sandila.

BJP issues notice to MLA for ‘assault' on train passenger

. LUCKNOW: BJP issued a showcause notice to its Babina (Jhansi) MLA Rajeev Singh Parichha for his 'indiscipline' tarnishing the party image after a CCTV footage showing him & his aides raining blows on a passenger on a Vande Bharat Express sparked public outrage, reports Arvind Chauhan . The party has asked Parichha to explain within seven days. The incident unfolded Thursday on Bhopal-bound Vande Bharat. A passenger (name withheld), occupying berth 49, was allegedly pressured by Parichha, who was traveling with his wife, son, and a security guard, to swap his seat with berth 8, allotted to the MLA. When he refused, the MLA's group picked up an argument with the passenger. ACCTV footage captured at least eight men attacking the passenger, hitting his head and face with footwear. The passenger declined to file a written complaint while Parichha lodged an FIR against the passenger under BNS sections 115 (2) (voluntarily causing hurt) and 352 (intentional insult to provoke breach of peace). Newborn found abandoned inside bag in train

Moradabad: A newborn was found abandoned inside a bag placed in an AC second-class coach of the Summer Special Patna-Chandigarh train and has been admitted to a hospital, officials said on Monday. On Saturday around 2:00 pm when passengers noticed the bag moving it caused panic, leading them to alert railway officials. Upon inspection, the infant was found inside the bag. According to Chief Medical Superintendent Dr Nirmala Pathak, the baby had difficulty breathing, likely due to being confined in the bag for a prolonged period. However, the infant began responding after receiving immediate medical attention. Government Railway Police (GRP) Inspector Mustaquim Ali said, 'Upon receiving the alert, personnel from the Railway Protection Force (RPF) and Childline quickly responded and took the infant off the train when it reached Moradabad Railway Station.' The newborn was admitted to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) ward of a local hospital where pediatric specialists are providing intensive care. Doctors confirmed that the umbilical cord was still attached, indicating the child had been abandoned shortly after birth. Railway authorities said they are reviewing CCTV footage from stations along the train's route to identify the person responsible for the abandonment. Meanwhile, the infant remains under close medical supervision and an investigation is underway, they added.
