Israeli PM came to rescue Gautam Adani after Hindenburg report
New Delhi: Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu reportedly ordered Mossad to step in and protect Indian billionaire Gautam Adani from a global campaign believed to be orchestrated by Hindenburg Research. Netanyahu took this step because the controversy broke just days before Adani Ports signed a $1.2 billion deal to buy a major stake in Israel's Haifa Port, according to a media report, as he was concerned the report could harm not only the businessman's reputation, but also a key economic partnership between India and Israel.
Netanyahu, who was personally present during the Haifa deal discussions, reportedly met Gautam Adani in a private session. In that meeting, sources say Netanyahu conveyed deep concerns about the potential sabotage of Israel's strategic interests, suggesting that the report might have been intended to derail not only the Haifa Port transaction, but also broader economic and diplomatic cooperation between Israel and India.
What followed was the launch of a covert Mossad mission, internally dubbed Operation Zeppelin. Two of Mossad's elite divisions - Tzomet, specialising in human intelligence, and Keshet, focused on cyber operations - were reportedly deployed to uncover the networks behind what was believed to be a coordinated smear campaign. The operation, spanning several continents including North America, Europe, and Australia, targeted Hindenburg's founder, Nathan Anderson and other actors allegedly involved in the campaign. Mossad's intelligence reportedly pointed to a network of activist lawyers, journalists, hedge funds, and political figures, many of whom were said to have links to the Biden administration, the US intelligence community, and billionaire financier George Soros.
One of the key revelations is that Mossad reportedly 'targeted senior Indian opposition figures during this period, including Sam Pitroda, chairman of the Indian Overseas Congress and a close aide to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi'.

Telangana anti-drugs agency finds cartel's hawala cash in washing machine in Goa
The Telangana Anti-Narcotics Bureau (TGANB) uncovered a major hawala operation linked to an international drug cartel, seizing nearly ₹50 lakh in cash hidden inside a washing machine in a Goa apartment. The money was reportedly moments away from being transferred to Nigeria. TGANB director Sandeep Shandilya said the cash, collected over just two days, was recovered during a raid conducted after a month-long surveillance operation in coordination with the Goa police. 'Had we delayed the raid by an hour, the entire amount would have been transferred. It was neatly stashed inside the washing machine, ready for dispatch,' ToI quoted Shandilya as saying. According to the report, the raid was carried out at an apartment in Highland Park and at Sangeetha Mobile Shop in Mapusa. The main accused, Uttam Singh, who ran the mobile shop, was arrested. The probe agency said that Singh laundered ₹2.1 crore of drug money within a week. His modus operandi involved receiving cash from foreign nationals, routing it through informal channels to Mumbai, and then facilitating its transfer to Nigeria. The ₹49.65 lakh seized during the raid is believed to be part of a larger money laundering network and a TGANB team is being sent to Delhi for further investigation. The hawala network came to light after the arrest of Nigerian national Emmanuel Bediako alias Maxwell, from Hyderabad earlier this week, reported news agency PTI. The 34-year-old was found in possession of 150 grams of cocaine and ecstasy pills worth ₹1.25 crore. According to a TGANB statement cited by news agency PTI, Bediako had made three visits to India since 2013, operating primarily out of Goa and selling various drugs including high-purity "celebrity cocaine," regular cocaine, and MDMA. TGANB officials believe the drugs were sourced from abroad and the profits routed to Nigeria via a sophisticated laundering network involving Indian hawala operators and the Nigerian drug cartel.

Germany reaffirmed its strong support and solidarity with India in the fight against terrorism, Federal Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul told an Indian parliamentary delegation that outlined New Delhi's resolve to not give in to nuclear blackmail by Pakistan. As the delegation visited the European country, it conveyed to German political and diplomatic leadership India's unwavering united stand for zero-tolerance for terrorism, especially in the wake of the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack that killed 26 people. The delegation, led by BJP MP Ravi Shankar Prasad, concluded its visit to Germany on Saturday (June 7, 2025), with the Indian Embassy stating that New Delhi's firm and principled position against terrorism 'found resonance across the top political leadership, decision-makers and think-tanks — reinforcing depth of the India-Germany Strategic Partnership.' Earlier on Friday evening, the delegation called on Minister Wadephul, who, building on his recent meeting with External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, 'condemned the terrorist attack in Pahalgam and reaffirmed Germany's strong support and solidarity with India, in the fight against terrorism,' said a post on X by the Indian Embassy in Berlin. Both sides 'discussed ways to further strengthen & deepen multi-faceted India-Germany Strategic Partnership and reiterated their commitment to a rule-based international order, based on shared democratic values,' it added. 'We underscored the significant threat terrorism poses to democracy, humanity, and human rights, and expressed grave concern over Pakistan-sponsored terrorism,' MR. Prasad said on X after the meeting. 'Emphasising the need for collective action, we stressed that democratic nations must unite to counter this menace.' The discussions also focused on enhancing and deepening the multi-faceted India-Germany Strategic Partnership, built on a shared commitment to upholding a rules-based international order rooted in democratic values, he added. The delegation had earlier interacted with key members of the German Bundestag (MdBs) in charge of foreign and security policy, such as Jurgen Hardt, Foreign Policy Spokesperson of CDU, and Tilman Kuban, as well as leading think-tanks in Germany. 'They emphasised India's message of zero-tolerance against terrorism. The delegation conveyed that India's response to the Pahalgam terrorist attack had been precise, measured and non-escalatory. The on-ground hostilities from the Indian and Pakistan sides that lasted for four days ended with an understanding of stopping the military actions following talks between the directors general of military operations of both sides on May 10.
