Check Out This Cool Delivery Vancycle Thing Honda Is Building
Honda gets into the urban delivery game with the funky, boxy eQuad.
The last-mile box vanscycle is all-electric, with swappable batteries, regenerative braking, and OTA updates.
Pricing should be out closer to its launch in 2026.
Package delivery has become a huge business, with Amazon vans everywhere and thousands of folks squirting through city streets on scooters with insulated square boxes on the back delivering who knows what to who knows where.
Honda sees this as an opportunity. The company that makes everything from weed whackers to Formula 1 engines and all things in between will enter the micromobility business by the end of the year.
At a ginormous trade show in Frankfurt called Eurobike, Honda announced the establishment of Fastport, which it called 'a new B2B business dedicated to transforming the last-mile delivery industry with innovative micromobility solutions.'
It also unveiled Fastport's first product in prototype form, the funky, boxy eQuad, shown here.
'This all-electric quadricycle delivery vehicle, designed for use in bike lanes, enables companies to enhance their urban logistics operations with speed, efficiency and reliability,' the company said.
It'll be all-electric, and powered by Honda Mobile Power Pack (MPP) swappable batteries and software-defined vehicle (SDV) features like service and maintenance plans, along with AI-powered dashboards with real-time insights that enhance driver and fleet-management operations. It also sports regenerative braking, automatic parking brakes, a canopy with UV coating and a ceramic tint option, and even a ventilation fan and full-frontal enclosure. And check out that four-wheel independent suspension. Are those coil springs?
Maximum payload is 650 pounds, with a top speed of 12 mph and 'up to' 23 miles range. But when the battery dies, just swap it out for a new one. The cargo box can be ordered in up to 89 inches long, 60 high, and 47.9 wide. No price was mentioned.
The Fastport is intended for use on bike paths, which some cities have and some don't. San Francisco and the Greater Bay Area, Portland, Minneapolis, Seattle, and even New York have bike paths or lanes. A lot of cities don't. (I'm looking at you, Las Vegas.)
Trying to squeeze a 47.9 inch-wide big box through some city streets could be a challenge. For comparison, something the size of a Vespa scooter typically used for food delivery is about two and a half feet wide, or a foot and a half narrower than the Fastport. But a Mercedes Sprinter van is almost eight feed wide, so you could get three Fastports in the width of a Sprinter.
Ah, math.
The Fastport eQuad will be produced at the Honda Performance Manufacturing Center (PMC) in Ohio, a small volume, specialty manufacturing facility using domestic and global parts. Since opening in 2016, the PMC has been responsible for production of the Acura NSX supercar, multiple Acura PMC Edition vehicles, and the CR-V e:FCEV fuel cell electric vehicle, as well as Honda Performance Development race cars.
Look for them in early 2026, Honda says. Pricing TBA.

2026 Honda Accord Review: Expert Insights, Pricing, and Trims
Like the compact Civic, the Accord is a cornerstone of the Honda brand, tracing its lineage back to the 1970s. Throughout its history, the Accord has taken on various forms—including hatchback and two-door coupe versions—but the latest model stays true to the classic four-door sedan layout. The 2026 Honda Accord's midsize sedan competitors include the Kia K5, Toyota Camry, and Hyundai Sonata. What's New The 2026 Honda Accord could be a completely refreshed model this year. If that happens, look for mildly revisedfront and rear exterior styling details as well as new wheel styles. More important, expect some standard features on the Hybrid to trickle down to gas trims, like the larger 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and wireless phone charger. Higher trims of the Accord are set up with the hybrid powertrain as standard, while the lower trims are only available with a non-hybrid gas engine. We don't expect this to change. What We Think The Accord has built an excellent reputation as a comfortable, capable, and generally pleasant midsize sedan. The 11th generation model largely sticks to that script, though in some ways it's not as good as the version that precedes it. Both gas and hybrid models are punchy off the line, but the hybrid loses steam as it gains speed and battery power falls off. The gas Accord is slower than the previous one. Ride and handling balance are good regardless of powertrain, and the Honda delivers solid brakes and a neutral chassis. That said, at speed, wind and road noise become noticeable in the cabin. Cabin styling is an Accord strength, the sedan employing a more mature-looking version of the interior in the Civic. However, there needs to be a way to outfit lower gas variants with available features that come with the hybrid trims, like the larger central touchscreen and premium interior materials. Maybe the 2026 Accord will pick up where the 2025 Accord's SE value model left off . Thanks to its better driving experience, longer range, and superior technology, we prefer the 2026 Accord in hybrid form over gas, but both are solid options in a competitive segment. MotorTrend Tested All 2026 Accords have FWD; AWD midsize sedan options are available with the Toyota Camry, Nissan Altima, Kia K5, and Hyundai Sonata. There's a small chance the 2026 Accord will go all-hybrid, but we suspect both powertrains will return. The gas-only powertrain features a 1.5-liter turbo-four that makes 192 hp and 192 lb-ft of torque, and a CVT automatic. In MotorTrend testing, a non-hybrid 2023 EX accelerated to 60 mph in 7.9 seconds, which is just fine. The hybrid-only Toyota Camry is quicker, though. The 2026 Accord Hybrid is equipped with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder and an electric motor integrated into the sedan's CVT. Output is rated at 204 hp combined, enough to propel the Accord Hybrid to 60 mph in an MT-tested 6.6 seconds. MPGs and Range Fuel economy ratings aren't expected to change compared to last year. Gas models should return roughly 29/37 mpg city/highway and be able to go as far as 474 miles on a full tank. The most efficient Hybrid will likely continue to be the EX-L, which gets 51/44 mpg for 2025 and can travel up to 614 miles with a topped-off tank. Hybrid Sport and Touring trims roll on bigger mpg-sapping 19-inch wheels and return a little less: 46/41 mpg and up to 563 miles of driving range. Safety Ratings and Features Last year's Accord earned impressive safety ratings, and the same should be true for the 2026 model. From IIHS, the Honda sedan received a 2025 Top Safety Pick+, the institute's top award. The model also receives NHTSA's top distinction, a five-star overall safety rating. The Honda Sensing suite of driver-assist features is standard with every Accord. Standard equipment includes: Automatic emergency braking Lane keeping Adaptive cruise control Automatic high-beams Traffic sign recognition Moving up to higher trims unlocks blind-spot and rear cross-traffic monitors, front and rear parking sensors, and low-speed braking control. Cargo Space and Interior Room Interior space in the 2026 Accord compares favorably to its age-old rival, the Toyota Camry. The Honda sedan also features a good-sized trunk. Technology As updates this year, we're looking for Honda to move some premium features from the Hybrid to the gas models. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto functionality, a wireless phone charger, and the 12.3-inch touchscreen could all migrate to at least one lower trim level. The Accord's standard 10.2-inch driver display and Wi-Fi hot spot will likely remain unchanged. Upgrades will probably include eight- and 12-speaker audio and a head-up display. Value Recommended Trim If the 2026 Honda Accord lineup retains the same trims as last year, we think the EX-L represents the sweet spot. With the 2026 Accord EX-L, you get a couple premium features and the refined hybrid powertrain with better acceleration and a longer driving range without the mpg-sapping large wheels of the Sport and Touring trims. Honda conducts surprise reusable rocket test, aims spaceflight by 2029
By Kantaro Komiya TOKYO (Reuters) -Honda succeeded in a launch and landing test of its prototype reusable rocket on Tuesday, the Japanese company said in a surprise announcement, marking a milestone towards its 2029 goal of achieving a suborbital spaceflight. Honda R&D, the research arm of Japan's second-biggest carmaker, successfully landed its 6.3-metre (20.6-foot) experimental reusable launch vehicle after reaching an altitude of 271 metres (889 feet) at its test facility in northern Japan's space town Taiki, according to the company. While "no decisions have been made regarding commercialization of these rocket technologies, Honda will continue making progress in the fundamental research with a technology development goal of realizing technological capability to enable a suborbital launch by 2029," it said in a statement. Honda in 2021 said it was studying space technologies such as reusable rockets, but it has not previously announced the details of the launch test. A suborbital launch may touch the verge of outer space but does not enter orbit. Studying launch vehicles "has the potential to contribute more to people's daily lives by launching satellites with its own rockets, that could lead to various services that are also compatible with other Honda business," the company added. Reusable launch vehicles have been the driver of emerging commercial space missions over the past decade, led by SpaceX's Falcon 9, while its U.S. rivals including Blue Origin and companies in China and Europe also have reusable rocket plans. Tokyo-based startup Innovative Space Carrier last month said it will test-launch a prototype reusable rocket in the United States in December using an American engine. Honda's rival Toyota, the world's biggest automaker by sales, earlier this year announced an investment by its research arm in Taiki-based rocket maker Interstellar Technologies to support mass production of launch vehicles. Japan's government has established a multibillion-dollar space venture fund to subsidise private rockets, satellites and other missions, targeting to double its space industry's size to 8 trillion yen ($55.20 billion) by the early 2030s. ($1 = 144.9200 yen)

Trump Meets With Security Team After Demanding Iran ‘Surrender'
Good morning. The US is pushing Tehran to surrender in its conflict with Israel. It will be a long slog before the West can loosen China's dominance in critical minerals. And Honda has good news for fans of its out-of-production NSX supercar. Listen to the day's top stories. Donald Trump raised the pressure on Iran and pushed for an ' unconditional surrender ' in its fight with Israel. Iran's Supreme Leader is safe 'for now' but 'our patience is wearing thin,' Trump said. The president met with his security team, fueling speculation that the US may join Israel's attack on Iran. Satellite images suggest Israeli strikes damaged Iran's underground uranium-enrichment facilities at Natanz. Israel's defense minister said the country plans to attack 'very significant targets' in Tehran. Investors were jittery: US stocks fell, oil rose and the dollar climbed the most in a month.
