Fight Night returns with knockout spectacle
Co-hosted by 1st Fitness and Silverbacks, this year's event will take place on King Dinuzulu Road on the Berea on Saturday, August 2, transforming the venue into a hub of adrenaline-pumping action and community spirit.
Event organisers said: 'This collaboration between 1st Fitness and Silverbacks represents our shared commitment to Durban's sporting community. Beyond the fights, we are creating a festival atmosphere where families can enjoy great food, vibes and the thrill of boxing at its finest.'
This year spectators can expect over 40 fights featuring over 25 boxing clubs from across KZN, food festivals with diverse culinary vendors, and VIP and VVIP areas offering premium viewing and hospitality.

The doors will be open to the public from 15:00. Preliminary bouts commence at 15:30, while the main cards will take place from 18:00 to 22:00. The vendor line-up is as follows: Jo on the Go – Artisan coffee and pastries, Chip 'n Dip – Golden fries with signature sauces, Chip Twister – Spiral potato skewers, Dancing Doughnuts – Handcrafted doughnut varieties, The Bakehouse – Fresh koeksisters and grilled mealies, Randree's Braai Foods – Flame-grilled wors and meats, Koya's Food Co – Gourmet smash burgers and brisket, and Chamigo – Zesty Mexican street fare.
Tickets will be available at 1st Fitness's front desk before the event and at the door on the day of the event. General admission is R150, and children under eight will receive free entry. VIP tickets cost R300, while the VVIP tickets are R500 (Exclusive seating, complimentary buffet/refreshment).
The event is sponsored by various companies, including Achievers, Phoenix Express, Tile Co., Pineboard, Boltons, Funnel Cars, HMI, DMI, Todays Sweets, Barrett Pearson Remax, Sparkport Pharmacies, Islamic Medical Association and Freshstop.

Lace up and unite for community fun walk with Bellair CPF
A NEW date and venue has been set for the Bellair Community Police Forum (CPF) Fidelity ADT Unity Fun-Walk. The event, powered by Fidelity ADT in partnership with the CPF, was initially meant to take place on July 19, however bad weather led to the postponement of the community event. The walk will now start at Bellair Primary School (Purley Road Entrance) and will see residents take on a route in the area on Saturday, August 9. Kaven Reddy, the Bellair CPF event co-ordinator, explained that the new event has exciting additions. Public relations officer for the forum, Thora Hübl, said she hopes the event unites the community. 'The fun walk will begin and end at Bellair Primary School and is open to all ages. There will be water tables, a jumping castle and various food and drink stalls. There will also be some goodies for the children. We are looking at possibly making this an annual event which also offers us as the CPF a way to connect with the community,' she said. Bongokuhle Hlongwane's evolution in MLS deserves Hugo Broos' attention
Minnesota United's Bongokuhle Hlongwane may well be asking himself what more he needs to do to convince Bafana Bafana head coach Hugo Broos to bring him back into the national team fold. The 25-year-old Pietermaritzburg-born Hlongwane was back among the goals this weekend, netting the second goal in Minnesota United's 3-3 draw against Club America. Unfortunately, they would go on to lose the game 8-7 on penalties. Sunday's goal brought his tally to two in the last week. He also scored in their impressive 4-1 win over Mexican club Querétaro. The two strikes brought his tally to three goals for the season. It's not been his best season in terms of goals, but he's mainly been used in deeper or more defensive roles, which is a testament to his versatility. Throughout his time in the United States, he's shown countless times that he can be an exciting footballer with an eye for the spectacular. In his inaugural Leagues Cup campaign two years ago, he finished with seven goals, with global superstar Lionel Messi the only player who scored more.
