In a career spanning over 60 years, Veteran actor Prem Chopra starred in over 380 films. He created a lasting impression on masses with his ruthless villainous performances. When Prem Chopra started working in Hindi cinema, he played positive roles, but that didn't work. Soon, after working in Main Shadi Karne Chala, someone suggested him to take on villain roles, and rest as they say is history.
Prem Chopra's performances in films like Teesri Manzil, Upkaar, Do Raaste , and others, proved his versatility as a villain. Not many know, but Prem Chopra had a deep connection with legendary Raj Kapoor. He is married to Raj Kapoor's sister, Krishna. When Raj Kapoor, was planning to make Bobby (1973), with his son Rishi Kapoor and newcomer Dimple Kapadia, he offered Prem a role in the film. Without any second thoughts, he said yes to him.
The details of his character weren't revealed for a very long time. However, when he got to know about his role, and his infamous dialogue 'Prem naam hai mera, Prem Chopra,' that he was had to deliver, Prem got a bit hesitant to do the part. The actor wasn't happy accepting a role with only one dialogue, fearing that other filmmakers might also offer him small roles in future projects.
But, lesser he knew, that his supporting screen-presence and dialogue delivery in Bobby will leave an indelible impact on audiences. Released in 1973, the film Bobby became a blockbuster, and made Rishi Kapoor and Dimple Kapadia overnight sensations.
Meanwhile, Prem Chopra's last on-screen appearance was in Animal, where he was seen in cameo role as Dalbir Singh. Directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, the film starred Ranbir Kapoor, Bobby Deol, Anil Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna, Tripti Dimri in key roles.

It is almost a defence mechanism that causes a woman to take up space, and it's because of years of conditioning." However, the actor says that Chhal Kapat, her new show, does not tread this path. "Here, what I like is that we have kept Devika's femininity," she says elaborating, "She doesn't have to be super aggressive while interrogating someone. She is ok to be gentle. But she will be tough, too. I like that there is no aggression for the sake of it. But yes, women in spaces where men have historically taken up more space tend to hold on to that and stay in power much more." Directed by Ajay Bhuyan, produced by Juggernaut Production, Chhal Kapat - The Deception is set to premiere on ZEE5 on June 6, 2025. He also issues a threat to kill Sandra's father, Thomas. He brags about calling Sandra late at night and verbally abusing her, accusing her of forgetting that her position in the industry came from the 'generosity' of production controllers. 'If she speaks against us again, we'll take her father, beat him, and go to jail for it,' the message said. In another clip, Mukesh Thrippunithura echoes the hostility, accusing Sandra of arrogance after producing just 'two or three films.' The voice goes like, 'Hasn't she done just two or three films and is now acting high and mighty? When the Producers Association banned her, her mental state declined.
