Pizza war continues: New Yorkers try Connecticut pizza
CONNECTICUT (WTNH) — The Connecticut vs. New York pizza wars continue. Connecticut pokes the bear with new pizza billboards trolling New York After declaring Connecticut the 'Pizza Capital of the United States' with some not-so-subtle signs, our state's marketing team headed down to the Big Apple to visit Lombardi's, America's first pizzeria. While they were there, they handed out some apizza and got New Yorkers to weigh in. 'New Yorkers love it,' Scott Wiener, founder of Scott's Pizza Tours, said. 'We just like a pizza that you can walk around and eat and you don't have to sit down at the table for it.' While New Yorkers admitted that they like Connecticut's pizza, they do not think it's the best in the country. Something that they did agree on is that Chicago's famous deep-dish pizza does not come close to the east coast. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. All rights reserved.
