Telegram Account 'Edisi Siasat' Blocked, New Account Called 'Edisi Siasat 2.0' Created
KUALA LUMPUR, June 19 (Bernama) -- The Telegram channel "Edisi Siasat," which featured information related to alleged misconduct by authorities, has been inaccessible to users of the platform since this afternoon.
A Bernama check on the channel found a message displayed stating, "Doesn't exist, this channel cannot be displayed as it goes against Malaysian law." It was also observed that all content had been deleted, believed to be blocked by the authorities.
However, at 8 pm tonight, Bernama's check on the platform found a new account using the name "Edisi Siasat 2.0," believed to have been created by the same administrator. As of now, this new account has more than 2,000 followers.

(Pexels pic) PETALING JAYA : Online messaging platform Telegram has complied with a High Court order to stop the spread of offensive material by purported whistleblower channel 'Edisi Siasat'. Checks on Telegram showed that Edisi Siasat has been blocked this evening, with users notified that the channel 'can't be displayed because it violated local laws'. FMT was made to understand that this was a result of Telegram complying with the interim injunction issued by the High Court. Edisi Siasat has, however, already set up a second channel on Telegram. The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) had filed a civil suit against Telegram and two of its channels for allegedly spreading harmful content that could erode trust in public institutions and threaten social order. The MCMC said Edisi Siasat and Edisi Khas were found to have published content that violated provisions under the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998. Both Edisi Siasat and Edisi Khas were anonymous Telegram channels known for publishing whistleblower-style allegations, particularly targeting public institutions and enforcement agencies. Despite being unofficial, their posts often gain traction and trigger public debates. The MCMC reminded social media platforms that they have a duty to ensure that the content on their platforms did not violate Malaysian laws, adding that it would not hesitate to take similar action against other providers.

Tour Bus Skids On NSE, 36 Indian Tourists, Driver Unharmed
IPOH, June 19 (Bernama) -- Thirty-six Indian nationals and a local driver escaped unhurt after the tour bus they were travelling in skidded and crashed at KM 396.2 of the North-South Expressway (NSE) northbound near Muallim this afternoon. Muallim police chief Supt Mohd Hasni Mohd Nasir said the incident occurred at 3.39 pm, and all victims, including the 41-year-old driver, escaped without any injuries. According to him, preliminary investigations revealed that the bus was en route from Kuala Lumpur to Ipoh when it lost control and veered to the right side of the road.
