AC Milan Legend Costacurta Backs Cristian Chivu: ‘He Has The Qualities To Be Successful, He's Ready For Inter Milan'
AC Milan Legend Costacurta Backs Cristian Chivu: 'He Has The Qualities To Be Successful, He's Ready For Inter Milan' Legendary former AC Milan defender Alessandro Costacurta feels that Cristian Chivu is ready to be Inter Milan coach. Speaking to Romanian newspaper Gazeta Sporturilor, via FCInter1908, the former Italian international argued that Chivu has 'all the qualities to be successful.' Advertisement Cristian Chivu became Inter Milan coach last month. The 44-year-old took over from Simone Inzaghi following the previous coach's decision to accept a massive money offer from Al-Hilal rather than remain coaching at a high level in Europe. Chivu came in with just thirteen matches of senior coaching experience under his belt. All of these came at Parma last season, as he kept the Gialloblu up in Serie A. However, Inter based their faith in Chivu not just on his work at the Stadio Ennio Tardini. The Romanian had also coached Inter at various youth team levels, including their Primavera side for three years. 'I think that he has what it takes to be successful,' said the former defender. 'He's also already worked with Inter's young players. And then he did well at Parma last season.' 'I think he's ready for Inter!' Costacurta declared. The Italian also called Chivu 'a great guy.' 'We're not close friends or anything. But he's a good guy.' Costacurta even made the bold prediction that 'it could be an extraordinary season for him at Inter.' ''It's a great opportunity for him,' the former defender concluded.

Report – Inter Milan To Move For Atalanta & Brazil Star After Clearing Out Several Fringe Players
Report – Inter Milan To Move For Atalanta & Brazil Star After Clearing Out Several Fringe Players Inter Milan will move to sign Atalanta midfielder Ederson after clearing out a number of fringe players from the squad. This according to today's print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews. They report that there are six players in total who could head for the exit door. Advertisement Inter Milan have identified Atalanta midfielder Ederson as a major target in midfield. However, the Nerazzurri will only move for the Brazilian international in the event that Hakan Calhanoglu leaves the club. Reportedly, Galatasaray have now made their first offer for him. If Inter do sell Calhanoglu, then they will put the fee towards a move for Ederson as a replacement. However, the Gazzetta note, any fee that Inter do get for the Turkish international will be far from covering the €60 million that Atalanta want for Ederson on its own. Inter To Move On Fringe Players To Finance Ederson Deal MILAN, ITALY – APRIL 20: Ederson of Atalanta runs with the ball whilst under pressure from Youssouf Fofana of AC Milan during the Serie A match between AC Milan and Atalanta at Stadio Giuseppe Meazza on April 20, 2025 in Milan, Italy. (Photo by) According to the Gazzetta dello Sport, therefore, Inter Milan's plan would be to bring in transfer fees for some fringe players in the squad. Advertisement Midfielders Davide Frattesi and Kristjan Asllani could follow Calhanoglu out the exit door. And they could certainly bring in decent fees, whilst also leaving vacancies in midfield. Then, a fee for defender Yann Bisseck would certainly be useful in moving for Ederson. But just as important could be the sales of some players on the fringes of the squad.
