Robert De Niro Was Asked About His Trans Daughter, And Once Again, His Straight-Up Response Proves It Really Is That Easy To Be Supportive
Robert De Niro is the father of seven children, ranging in age from 57 to 2. And in April, his 29-year-old daughter Airyn found herself in the spotlight when she came out as transgender.
In an April 29 interview with Them, Airyn — whom Robert shares with his ex, Toukie Smith — opened up about 'stepping into [her] new identity,' saying: 'There's a difference between being visible and being seen. I've been visible. I don't think I've been seen yet.'

Robert is pretty private when it comes to his personal life. However, the Oscar-winner wasted no time voicing his support for his daughter, telling Variety in a statement on April 30: 'I loved and supported Aaron as my son, and now I love and support Airyn as my daughter. I don't know what the big deal is. I love all my children.'
So, as Airyn received tons of support online, Robert was also praised for his straight-up comments on the news, with fans pointing out that it 'really is that simple' to be loving and accepting of the trans community and those around you.

And now, at this week's Tribeca Film Festival, Robert was asked about his support of Airyn and his six other children in an interview with Entertainment Tonight, prompting him to deliver yet another perfect no BS response.
Discussing the importance of allowing his children to be authentically themselves, he said: 'The main thing is to support your kids. As long as they're not hurting themselves, doing anything that's destructive or anything like that, you have to support them. Period.'

Levy says that Starfighter will cover new territory in franchise storytelling and won't feature any of the major characters from prior releases. 'This is a standalone. It's not a prequel, not sequel. It's a new adventure. It's set in a period of time that we haven't seen explored yet,' the filmmaker said. 'The reality is that this script is just so good. It has such a great story with great and original characters,' said Gosling. 'It's filled with so much heart and adventure, and there just really is not a more perfect filmmaker for this particular story than Shawn.' Starfighter the movie is not related to the 2001 video game of the same name from LucasArts that was set on the planet of Naboo during the time period of Star Wars: The Phantom Menace. The Weeknd Might Not Be Retiring His Music Persona After All
The Weeknd has teased that Hurry Up Tomorrow— his sixth album and upcoming film of the same name— also marks the end of the artist fans have grown to love for over 15 years. However, that may not necessarily be the case. While promoting the film at CinemaCon 2025, Abel Tesfaye told EW that this moment feels like both a death and resurrection. 'It feels like it [the end of the Weeknd]. I mean, I've kind of toyed with the idea in the past with albums,' he noted. 'But it could also just be a rebirth. Who knows?' Back in January, the 35-year-old announced plans to retire his alter ego. 'It's a headspace I've gotta get into that I just don't have any more desire for,' he explained to Variety. 'You have a persona, but then you have the competition of it all. It becomes this rat race: more accolades, more success, more shows, more albums, more awards and more No. 1s. It never ends until you end it.' Hurry Up Tomorrow marks the conclusion in the trilogy that began with 2020's After Hours, which was followed by 2022's Dawn FM. The Weeknd's ‘Hurry Up Tomorrow' Earns $3.3 Million Box Office Debut
The Weeknd's Hurry Up Tomorrow feature film experienced the chart-topping success shared by the singer's album of the same name. According to Variety, the movie, which stars the singer as well as Jenna Ortega and Barry Keoghan, earned $3.3 million in its opening against a $15 million budget. The debut landed Hurry Up Tomorrow at No. 6 at the box office. Directed by Trey Edward Shults, Hurry Up Tomorrow stars the Grammy-winning artist as a musician plagued by insomnia. In the film, he is pulled into an odyssey with a stranger who begins to unravel the very core of his existence.
