Woman killed and man seriously injured in Telford crash
A woman has died and a man suffered serious, potentially life-threatening injuries in a crash near Telford.The victim, in her 50s, died at the scene of the two-vehicle collision on the A518 Wellington Road close to Lilleshall at about 08:45 BST on Wednesday.The injured man was airlifted to hospital while a child passenger was treated at the scene for minor injuries, West Mercia Police said.The road was closed after the collision, which involved a grey BMW and grey Audi A5, but has since reopened to traffic.
Insp Chris Henry said his thoughts were with the families of those involved and urged anyone with information or dash cam footage to get in touch.He said he was keen to hear from anyone who might have seen either car, which were travelling in opposite directions, before the incident.

Drug dealer's driving in Paisley led police to £6,190 cocaine discovery
Cops snared the motorist using 'counter surveillance' moves while officers followed the car. A drug dealer was snared when cops followed a black BMW from Paisley to Hillington which was being driven using 'counter surveillance techniques'. Charles Caldwell was snared by police driving out of a Paisley street in his motor on January 18 last year. Officers, in their unmarked car, followed the 32-year-old as he drove to Hillington, changing lanes, slowing his speed and speeding off. When cops stopped Caldwell, his passenger got out of the car that caused cops to detect a strong stench of cannabis which led them to conduct a search of Caldwell and his vehicle. Procurator fiscal depute Jason Stark told Paisley Sheriff Court cops found cocaine within Caldwell's car and stashed in his underwear. He explained: 'On January 18 last year, officers on plain-clothes patrol in an unmarked vehicle observed a black BMW exiting Dee Crescent in Paisley. Officers followed the vehicle to outside The Wheel Specialist in Hillington. 'Throughout the journey, police observed the vehicle to change lanes on a number of occasions, slow speed and then accelerate sporadically which police believed was counter surveillance techniques. 'Police approached the vehicle and observed the accused as the driver and another male as the front seat passenger. 'The passenger exited the vehicle and police detected a strong smell of cannabis emanating from within. Both males were informed they were being detained and cautioned at common law and a search of the accused was carried out.' The court heard officers discovered a knotted white bag containing a 'white rock substance' from Caldwell's jacket pocket, two mobile phones from his trousers pocket and a white knotted bag containing white powder within his underwear. Cops then carried out a search of the car and found two white bags containing numerous white knotted bags which had white powder. Mr Stark added: 'Around 3.15pm on the same date, officers rested and weighed the recovered items within Paisley police office. 'The item recovered from the accused's jacket pocket weighed 57.5g and was separated into five bags which contained two knotted bags therein, one containing white powder, believed to be a mixing agent and white rock which tested positive for cocaine weighing 18.5g, and 37g of unknown white powder. The item recovered from the accused's underwear totalled 124.6g and tested positive for cocaine. 'A white bag recovered within the car weighed 73.3g and was separated into 42 knotted wraps which weighed 1.7g approximately, which tested positive for cocaine. 'And a second white bag recovered from the car, weighed 32.4g and was separated into 35 knotted wraps which tested positive for cocaine.' The court heard a forensic drug expert estimated that, should the Class A drug be sub-divided into the 'lowest recovered recognised street deal of 1g', it has the potential to generate approximately £6,190. Mr Stark added: 'The officers confirmed that it is their opinion that the cocaine in this case is excessive for personal use with the majority of which being sub-divided into recognised street deals and would be for sale or supply.' Caldwell's defence agent asked for background reports to be prepared and reserved mitigation. Caldwell admitted to being concerned in the supply of cocaine, a Class A drug on January 18 last year. Sheriff Andrew Berry adjourned sentence for the preparation of a criminal justice social work report and a restriction of liberty order assessment. Caldwell, of Castlegreen Street, Dumbarton, West Dunbartonshire, had bail continued and will be sentenced next month.

Man charged after 'items thrown' from one vehicle to another on A90
A man has been charged after items were thrown from one vehicle to another in Aberdeenshire. The incident occurred on the A90 heading northbound near Laurencekirk between 12.30pm and 12.45pm on Thursday. A grey BMW 3 and a grey Range Rover Sport were travelling at low speeds at the time of the incident. Items were thrown from the BMW towards the Range Rover, causing damage. A 33-year-old man has been charged in connection with a road traffic offence and a report is due to be sent to the Procurator Fiscal. Constable Scott Walmsley said: 'Enquiries remain ongoing and we are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident to contact us. 'We also ask drivers in the area at the time with dash-cam footage to please come forward.' Evesham drugs raid sees man arrested and cash seized
A 50-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of drug dealing after a police raid at a property in swooped on the house in Gisborne Gardens at about 06:30 BST and seized Class A drugs, about £500 in cash, multiple mobile phones and weighing man was held on suspicion of possessing heroin with intent to Juliet Jeffrey, from West Mercia Police, said the early morning raid was carried out after concerns were raised in the community concerns over suspected drug dealing at the property.
