MSU target, 3-star DL Gavin Neil commits to Boston College following official visit

MSU target, 3-star DL Gavin Neil commits to Boston College following official visit A Michigan State defensive lineman target in the 2026 class has committed to a program the Spartans will lineup against this upcoming season. Gavin Neil of Chicago Heights, Ill. announced his commitment to Boston College on Sunday. The commitment -- which he announced via a post on social media platform X -- to the Eagles from Neil comes after he took an official visit to Boston College this past weekend. Neil is a three-star defensive lineman in the 2026 class, and holds a recruiting rating of 86 on 247Sports. He ranks as the No. 140 defensive lineman and No. 34 player from Illinois in the class. Michigan State was Neil's only other power four offer at this point in the recruitment, and the Spartans were the previous favorite to land his commitment. Boston College, though, entered the mix this past week with an offer and a quick official visit to get him on their recruiting board. Neil was supposed to visit Michigan State next week but it is assumed that he will not be making that visit now. USMNT vs. Trinidad and Tobago: TV channel, time and how to watch Concacaf Gold Cup

USMNT vs. Trinidad and Tobago: TV channel, time and how to watch Concacaf Gold Cup Show Caption Hide Caption Weston McKennie: Landon Donovan's dig at Christian Pulisic was sad U.S. Men's National Team standout Weston McKennie reacts to Landon Donovan's comments regarding Christian Pulisic. Sports Seriously The U.S. men's national team is short-handed and under intense scrutiny as it kicks off its 2025 Concacaf Gold Cup campaign with a game against Trinidad and Tobago. The USMNT's biggest star, Christian Pulisic, will controversially be rested for the tournament, while other big names like Weston McKennie are instead obliged to play at the overlapping FIFA Club World Cup. Making matters worse, a 4-0 embarrassment at the hands of Switzerland on Tuesday served as a reminder that entry-level basics in terms of intensity and effort have been in question for some time now. Manager Mauricio Pochettino — who came in at significant expense after the U.S. badly underwhelmed at the 2024 Copa América — has run into the same sorts of issues that sunk his predecessor, Gregg Berhalter. On a four-game losing streak for the first time since 2007, the USMNT is under pressure to produce a comfortable win over the Soca Warriors.
