American Mason, 21, also boasts a perfect record, with 17 knockouts from 19 victories.
The WBO ordered the bout after stripping former champion Keyshawn Davis, who failed to make weight for a cancelled fight against Edwin De Los Santos.
The fight will take place during Saudi Arabia's Riyadh Season, with the exact date and venue yet to be confirmed.
The undercard will feature London's Anthony Yarde challenging WBC light-heavyweight champion David Benavidez, and a welterweight main event between WBO champion Brian Norman Jr and Devin Haney.

Saudi Pro League prepared to pay record-smashing €350m for Kylian Mbappe & hand him Cristiano Ronaldo-esque contract but Real Madrid transfer exit will not happen

Vinicius Jr was wanted in the Middle East Marquee signings being sought in that region French superstar has no interest in move Follow GOAL on WhatsApp! 🟢📱 WHAT HAPPENED? World Cup winner Mbappe has emerged as a top target for teams in the Middle East after they failed to lure club colleague Vinicius Junior away from Santiago Bernabeu. It was claimed that a €300m (£259m/$348m) fee could change hands there, with a €1 billion (£863m/$1.2bn) contract being lined up. THE BIGGER PICTURE No deal was done for the Brazil international, but the Saudi Pro League remains in the market for 'high-profile players that can elevate the league's global image'. According to Defensa Central, a €350m (£302m/$406m) offer has been readied for Mbappe. The France international would be handed terms that 'match or come very close to Ronaldo', with the five-time Ballon d'Or-winning Portuguese superstar working on a record-breaking deal at Al-Nassr. DID YOU KNOW? No sale will be sanctioned as Real Madrid consider their French 'Galactico', who has been handed the No.10 shirt in the Spanish capital, to be 'absolutely untransferable' as their 'biggest commercial and media asset'. TELL ME MORE Mbappe has also 'shown no inclination' that he wants to leave the Bernabeu. He is focused on 'establishing his legacy among Europe's elite' and believes his efforts to be in peak condition for the 2026 World Cup 'would be compromised by a move to the Saudi league'. WHAT NEXT FOR MBAPPE? Mbappe is only 26 years of age and sees no reason to walk away from elite competition in Europe. He considers the timing of interest from the Middle East to be completely wrong, with focus locked on helping Real Madrid to become a dominant force at home and abroad.

Japan adopts stricter safety rules after deaths

Japanese boxing officials have voted to implement stricter rules on weight loss and to also introduce urine tests following the deaths of two fighters in Tokyo. Super-featherweight Shigetoshi Kotari, 28, and featherweight Hiromasa Urakawa, also 28, died after sustaining injuries in separate bouts on the same card on 2 August. Both boxers underwent surgery for subdural haematoma - a condition where blood collects between the skull and the brain. Following the event, the Japan Boxing Commission (JBC) announced all Oriental and Pacific Boxing Federation (OPBF) title bouts will now be 10 rounds instead of 12. The Japanese Professional Boxing Association (JPBA), the JBC and gym owners met to discuss the emergency measures on Tuesday. They voted to include urine tests to measure dehydration and agreed that ambulances will be required on site, even for non-world title bouts. Hospitals will partner with the governing bodies to ensure they are equipped to perform emergency surgery for head and other injuries. Fighters will also have to adhere to new rules on how long they must stop sparring during training before a fight. "Officials have decided to take all possible measures to ensure that the deaths of these two boxers are not in vain," Tsuyoshi Yasukochi, secretary general of the JBC, said. Yasukochi said an accident investigation committee will work to find out the cause of the boxers' deaths later in August before updating their guidance on prevention measures. The JBC and JPBA are also scheduled to meet with the organisations' doctors and the amateur boxing federation.
