Michelle Keegan has given her hair a summer makeover, debuting a new 'toffee brunette' hair colour complete with 'gold dust' highlights that the Princess of Wales is also favouring
Michelle Keegan is your go-to for summer hair colour inspo, flaunting her freshly cut and dyed hair on social media for her fans to see. The new mum, who welcomed baby Palma earlier this year, has indulged in a salon visit and showcased her updated tresses on social media. Snapping a selfie wearing retro 70s shades, Michelle writes: "Summer hair! Love it."
The Fool Me Once star also expressed gratitude to her trusted hair colourist, Calum Tierney, for his magic touch on her rejuvenated locks. The snap reveals that Michelle has maintained her rich brunette roots while incorporating sun-kissed highlights to enhance the overall hue. This season's trendy 'toffee brunette' look is all about these warm, caramel-like streaks, and even Kate Middleton herself is slowly working towards this hair colour for summer after debuting her lighter look just a few weeks ago.
Hershesons Belgravia's colour expert Hannah Gayle is all for the golden or caramel touches this spring. "I am obsessed with this reflective, eye-catching colour for spring and summer," she comments. "It features rich caramel colours and pops of lighter tones, making it the perfect colour for darker brunettes wanting to add lighter pieces without going the whole hog, and great for those with lighter hair, who want more dimension."
We're also fully influenced by Michelle's new haircut, which perfectly complements her lighter hair. With a nod to the 70s vibe of her accessories, it seems she's taken inspiration from a young Sophia Loren, sporting voluminous layers that lend a slightly retro feel to her look.
Michelle's hair styling secrets
Why does her hair have such volume? It's full of secrets... and ColorWow
Michelle doesn't often divulge her haircare routine, but when she does, we're all ears. The actress is a long-time fan of both Give Me Cosmetics' Argan Oil and Coconut Oil Hair Mask, £15, and Garnier's Hair Food Mask, £8.99, attributing both for helping achieve her signature sleek, healthy-looking locks.
The star has also previously shared that she swears by Beauty Works' 10-in-1 Miracle Spray, £11.95, to shield her hair from heat damage, as well as the Balmain Leave-In Conditioner Spray, £33.25, to add an extra gloss.
When it comes to heat styling, ghd's Chronos Max Wide Plate Hair Straighteners, £299, are her go-to. Michelle remarked at their launch: 'My new favourite straightener... with wider plates that create glass-like hair in just one pass."
Harold Casey, Michelle's trusted hairstylist, has previously shared his secrets for achieving her lustrous curls and shine. His haircare arsenal includes the cult-favourite ColorWow Dreamcoat Supernatural Spray, priced at £27, and Bedhead by Tigi Head Rush, costing £14.90, both renowned for delivering a glossy finish.

Emmerdale star teases Coronation Street crossover twist after 'discussions'

Emmerdale star Michelle Hardwick has been chatting with her Coronation Street pal Vicky Myers about the looming ITV soap crossover, amid fans wanting their characters to feature There could be an epic Vanessa Woodfield and Lisa Swain scene on the way, if Emmerdale and Coronation Street fans have their way. Speaking exclusively to The Mirror at the British Soap Awards, Vanessa star Michelle Hardwick confessed she'd had discussions with her pal and Corrie star Vicky Myers. Ever since fans learned of the shocking crossover between the two soaps, set to air early next year, they've been calling for a number of characters to be involved. ‌ One such twist hoped for by viewers would see Corrie detective Lisa meet with Emmerdale vet Vanessa. Michelle and Vicky have seen all the comments about their characters meeting, and they are so on board. ‌ They too would love to be involved and would love to have a scene in the crossover where their characters meet, with Michelle telling us they'd been discussing it. She teased to us: "It's so exciting, I think everyone is hoping for a Vanessa and DS Swain crossover aren't they. "Me and Vicky have been talking about it. It would be hilarious." With fans also calling for Vanessa's ex Charity Dingle and Lisa's partner Carla Connor to feature in a scene together, two soap icons, Michelle seemed keen for this too. She responded: "Yes! Those two and me and Vicky!" Michelle's character Vanessa features in heavy scenes this week and going forward, with her brother-in-law Nate Robinson's murder finally exposed. After his body being discovered and identified, Vanessa faces a tough time supporting her grieving sister Tracy Robinson, Nate's wife, who is left reeling over the loss. Not only that, but Tracy faces accusations and could be framed for the crime that fans know was actually committed by John Sugden. Michelle told us of the emotional scenes ahead: "Vanessa will be there for Tracy through the whole thing. Fingers do get pointed, and they all start blaming each other. "The thing is Vanessa doesn't think it's Cain [Dingle] who's done it, but Tracy does. Equally she wants to support her sister and be there for her, but she is trying to be the rational one really, and be strong for her." ‌ There does come a moment where Vanessa fears her sister is to blame as other residents question her motives, but Michelle assured us this is very much in the moment and then it's gone. She shared: "There is one little point where she has this conversation with Rhona [Goskirk], and in one instant she says, 'she couldn't have done it... could she?' "Then it's like no, no she wouldn't. I just think with the lies that Tracy has told about Eric it's, oh my goodness, but she doesn't think it at all and really does stand by her." Vanessa and Mary's friendship will remain going forward, after they cleared the air over Mary's kiss with Vanessa's late girlfriend Suzy Merton. She said: "Mary of all people! She was so nice to Vanessa, I couldn't believe it. But she has buried it, as long as we don't talk about it we're fine."

Michelle Keegan shows off her figure in a high street Sicilian-inspired dress

The yellow bandeau maxi dress has 'holiday to Italy' written all over it... Looking at Michelle Keegan, you'd never know she only gave birth a couple of months ago. The star looks like the epitome of health and happiness in new holiday snaps from her sun-soaked escape to Spain with her husband, Mark Wright, and baby daughter Palma. And though we have plenty of questions we'd like to ask Michelle – largely to do with her hair, skincare and fitness regime – we also instantly needed to know where her gorgeous yellow crochet dress is from. Posing for a sunset snap, Michelle pens the caption: "Wore my latest Very collection every night on holiday, which was perfect because my holiday packing was done months ago". Though she hasn't yet shared the link to the dress, we can confirm the exact piece is Very's Crochet Bandeau Midaxi Dress from Michelle own summer 2025 collection. The f lattering midaxi will set you back £80, despite looking like it could be a designer piece for hundreds of pounds more. If there's one way to channel holiday glow without hopping on a plane, it's slipping into Michelle's crochet dress. Drenched in a sunshine-yellow hue that practically radiates serotonin, this fitted and flattering number is the gown equivalent of golden hour. The bandeau neckline is perfect for showing off bronzed shoulders, and the crochet texture gives it a Mediterranean holiday feel. Like you've nipped into a fancy boutique and picked up the latest dress. Fit-wise, it's a knockout. The flattering fit-and-flare silhouette hugs in all the right places (your waist), while the midaxi length keeps it classy enough for a posh lunch or a rooftop cocktail party. Whether you're pairing it with strappy heels or dressing it down with espadrilles, it's one of those rare pieces that does all the talking while you sip your spritz. Though Michelle might be inclined to share her love for the piece since it has her name on it, customers don't have the same loyalty – and they're still sharing how much they love the holiday essential dress. One happy buyer pens: "This is such a lovely dress .it's such a lovely colour and fit and I cant wait to wear it to a wedding i have in Sicily." Another adds: "Bought this for summer party. Arrived promptly and is better than I expected. Size is accurate and quality is exceptional, zip is almost invisible and lining attached to the crochet all signs of a well made item. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this dress to everyone," while a third points out that the crochet "isn't for her", but that it's still a lovely piece. We've been keenly keeping an eye on Michelle this past month to see if we can get any new-mum styling tips from her, and so far we've been treated some great outfit links to rival this one. Just the other week, she stepped out wearing Very's Faux Suede Blonde Jacket, £60 online, and had us all running to pick up our own version of it. So if all this rain means you've been looking for a new lightweight jacket, Michelle's faux suede piece is the perfect way to nail the suede trend. Soft, stylish and easily layerable, it's got a vintage-meets-modern style that all the top fashion girls are loving right now. Away from Michelle's wardrobe, we're also loving Good Morning Britain presenter Susanna Reid's Faye Double Cloth Dress from Boden. She wore it this week to host the morning show, and highlighted its striking floral print in hues of blue, yellow, red, pink and green.

Tom Hanks reacts after daughter reveals childhood of 'violence and deprivation'

Tom Hanks has spoken about his daughter's recent comments about 'violence and deprivation' while on the red carpet. On Thursday, the actor was on the red carpet for Wes Anderson's The Phoenician Scheme and was asked about his daughter E.A Hanks, short for Elizabeth Anne, and her memoir. In the tell-all titled The 10: A Memoir of Family and The Open Road, EA opened up about her turbulent early years, and revealed she had a childhood of 'violence and deprivation' with her mother. The interviewer asked Tom how proud he felt of his only daughter, given her recent success with her novel. 'There is a pride because she shares it with me,' he said in an interview with Access Hollywood. 'She's very open about what the process is.' 'As a dad, if you've had kids you realise that you see who they are when they're about 6 weeks old. Their personality is on display right there, their temper, the way they see the world is demonstrated in their body language and on their face,' he said. 'I'm not surprised that my daughter had the wherewithal as well as the curiosity as well as I'm going to say perhaps shoot herself in the foot kind of wherewithal in order to examine this thing. 'That I think she was incredibly honest about.' He then praised her work and said she was proud of her mind. 'We all come from checkered, cracked lives, all of us. Despite the fact that part of it would seem as though she worked for some international, well-known firm with a copyrighted last name. 'She knows that and she leans into absolutely everything. I think anybody who does that is a bold journalistic, literate mind, and I'm just thrilled I can say the same thing about my daughter.' The book is an account of the six-month road trip she took in 2019 from Los Angeles to book follows EA as she seeks to know more about her late mother's troubled life. EA's mother, Susan Dillingham, died in 2002 from lung cancer at the age of 49. EA was just 19 at the time. In her memoir, EA claims she and her brother, Colin Hanks, were physically abused and neglected by Dillingham. She also claimed that they lived with her until their custody arrangement changed after their mother got violent. 'One night, her emotional violence became physical violence, and in the aftermath, I moved to Los Angeles, right smack in the middle of the seventh grade,' she wrote in an excerpt published by People. More Trending 'My custody arrangement basically switched — now I lived in L.A. and visited Sacramento on the weekends and in the summer.' The writer also claimed that her actor father once had to 'track her down' after she was taken out of school. 'My dad came to pick us up from school and we're not there,' she said. 'And it turns out we haven't been there for two weeks and he has to track us down.' The 10: A Memoir of Family And The Open Road by EA Hanks was released on April 8. Got a story?
