Cleveland-based dancer Stephon Vann is mastermind behind viral 'Law & Order' line dance
Dun-dun. By now, you've probably seen the viral clip of a group of young dancers grooving to the "Law & Order" theme song. But what you might not have known is that they have ties to Northeast Ohio. That's right. The mastermind behind the choreography, Stephon Vann, is a Cleveland-based dancer, and it appears that the other dancers tagged in his highly popularized video are also from the area. Between TikTok and Instagram, Vann's dance routine has been viewed by millions and received thousands of reactions, many of them laugh-worthy. Black-owned magazine Essence gave the group a shoutout on Instagram as well. Even Broadway star Kristin Chenoweth commented on one of the Instagram reposts of the video with a laughing emoji and New York Liberty mascot Ellie the Elephant gave the dance a try during a recent game. It's also garnered likes from actors Olivia Munn ("Your Friends & Neighbors," "The Newsroom") and Jay Ellis ("Running Point," "Top Gun: Maverick," "Insecure"), model Chrissy Teigen and singer Melanie Fiona. Post initially scoffed at the idea, saying that was something for sound effects to handle, but after Wolf's insistence, Post took on the task. "'You watch, it'll end up being important,'" Post said Wolf said at the time. "I went, 'You're crazy, you don't know what you're talking about.'" That turned out to be the iconic "dun-dun" everyone recognizes today. Ice-T sparks concern with 'Law & Order: SVU' injury gag "It's not a sound effect, it's a piece of music that actually gets a royalty, you know? It's piece of music," Post said. He said after the show was on the air for its first year, Wolf told him to take him out to dinner because of the show's — and subsequently the theme song's — success. Looking back on the conversation, Post said that Wolf said, "'I'm probably the reason that you've got this one little piece that you're gonna be known for the rest of your career.' ...
