Doja Cat Reveals ‘Vie' Release Date While Speaking French in Parisian Album Trailer

Yahoo2 days ago
Doja Cat is putting her French lessons to use, as the Grammy-winning artist revealed the release date for her upcoming Vie album.
Doja posted a trailer for the project on social media on Thursday (Aug. 14), which found her leaning into cosplaying a mademoiselle while speaking French (Vie translates to Live in English).

'Je sais que tu es ma vie Vie out 9/26,' she captioned the cinematic clip, positioning her album for a Sept. 26 arrival.
The video finds Doja in various sophisticated outfits as she changes from Black lace to white fur and a sparkling diamond ballroom gown. One shot even finds Doja in couture in front of the Eiffel Tower during a recent trip to Paris.
'You're here?' she says while the camera pans to another version of herself. 'Of course I am,' Doja replies while taking a bite of her croissant.
Fans were excited to hear a firm release date for the long-awaited album, which is Doja's first since 2023's Scarlet. 'AHH WE ARE SATTTTT,' one person wrote. While another added: 'Yesss Ms. Doja Jones!!!'
Earlier this month, Doja Cat teased her upcoming 'Jealous Type' single, which will set the table for the album. The teaser came with a phone number for a Vie hotline, while callers were greeted by Doja playing the role of romance therapist. 'Jealous Type' is slated to be released on Aug. 21 at 8 p.m. ET.
Doja Cat hasn't released any singles this year and has been tight-lipped about the project, but revealed in her V Magazine cover story in July that it's a 'pop-driven' effort.
'I do want to be self-aware enough to admit the fact that this is a pop-driven project,' she said at the time. 'I know that I can make pop music, and pop is just that it's popular. It starts to become a bit of a thing that's viewed as a sport by people who are just bystanders to it, who enjoy it, but maybe also don't respect it or what it is, which is just music … They see it as if this is some kind of football for girls and gays.'
Watch the trailer below and look for Vie on Sept. 26.

An article this weekend on Page 120 about censorship of creative works contains several errors. It refers incorrectly to the artist Dread Scott's 1989 installation 'What Is the Proper Way to Display a U.S. Flag?' The exhibit offered visitors the choice of stepping on a flag while answering that question in a guest book; it did not require them to step on the flag. The article misstates the number of photographs of soldiers' coffins draped with American flags in the installation. There was one such image, not multiple images. The article also misstates the artist Andres Serrano's number of solo exhibitions in his career. He's had about 20 solo museum exhibitions in Europe and abroad, and many fewer in the United States — not about 20 solo in Europe and only one in the United States. And because of a production error, the article misquotes John Waters on what a Maryland film censor said to him about his 1974 feature 'Female Trouble.' Waters said she told him, 'You can't have that cunnilingus scene,' not 'You can have that cunnilingus scene.' A picture caption with an article this weekend on Page 140 about the artist Robert Longo, relying on information from a publicist, misstates the materials used in one of his works. It is a charcoal drawing of a pit of snakes, not an ink-and-charcoal drawing. Orlando Bloom Takes Cheeky Swipe at Katy Perry's Rumored Romance With Justin Trudeau on Social Media

Orlando Bloom applauded a tongue-in-cheek Instagram post that poked fun at his ex Katy Perry's rumored romance with former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. 'Orlando Bloom Spotted at Dinner With Angela Merkel' was the headline of a story by the satirical news site The Onion. It featured a doctored picture of the Lord of the Rings star, 48, and the 71-year-old ex-German leader sharing a candlelit meal. The photo was captioned, 'Just weeks after announcing his split with fiancée Katy Perry, English actor Orlando Bloom was photographed Friday dining with former German Chancellor Angela Merkel.' The fake story reported, ' 'Angela kept Orlando laughing all night — he couldn't keep his eyes off her!' said an insider source who spotted the pair sipping wine, slurping oysters, and splitting a decadent piece of chocolate layer cake at a Michelin-starred restaurant.' In the comments section, Orlando posted a series of clapping hands emojis. The story was a spoof on the news that Katy, 40, and Justin, 53, are romantically involved after being photographed having dinner together in Montreal, followed by an hour-long stroll with Katy's dog. The hunky pol also attended her concert. An insider told People the two felt an 'instant connection' and 'have a lot in common.' Orlando confirmed he and the 'Roar' singer, who share daughter Daisy, 4, had broken up last month. Just days after the announcement, he was seen cozying up to Sydney Sweeney at Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez's wedding in Venice. Solve the daily Crossword
