Austin Stacks lead the way with Legion and O' Rahilly's on their coat tales
Paul O'Shea hit 0-3, including a 2 pointer from a free and points from Philip O'Leary and Chris O'Leary and two more from O'Shea saw Kilcummin stay in touch. But Stacks with Quilter firing over four points, along with points from Brendan O'Sullivan and Darragh O'Brien, had Stacks 2-9 to 0-9 in front at half time.
Paul O'Shea, Paudie Moynihan and Matt Keane kept Kilcummin in touch but they were merely hanging on to Stacks coattails as Quilter, Greg Horan, Ryan O'Driscoll and Ferdia O'Brien ensured that Stacks would cruise to a nine point win.
Laune Rangers are becoming the draw experts as they shared the points with Kerins O'Rahilly's in Killorglin on a 1-13 apiece scoreline. In fact it took a late Conor O'Sullivan point to snatch a draw for the Strand Road side after Patrick Radny had given Rangers the lead.
Both goals came in the first half of the game, with O'Rahillys taking a one-point lead into the half time interval. Daniel Bowler scored a first half goal for O'Rahilly's while Calum Moriarty raised a green flag for Rangers to lead by a point but a two pointer from Barry John Keane from outside the arc saw the Tralee side lead 1-6 to 1-5 at half time.
It was tit for tat in the third quarter with O'Rahillys replying with three converted frees from Savage before Keane pointed from play to put the Tralee men two ahead on 50 minutes.
Cleary and Tyther leveled the contest when Radny popped up what appeared to be the winner with two minutes left but Conor O'Sullivan had other ideas as Kerins O'Rahilly's escaped with a point.
Killarney Legion are now in second place after they beat injury ravaged Beaufort 0-20 to 2-8. Ryan O'Grady was the star of the game as the Legion sharp shooter fired over 0-10 of his sides total including their opening two points. David and Eoghan O'Sullivan were on target as was Cian Gammell. Legion led 0-10 to 0-6 ahead at half time and were always in control despite a Liam Carey goal leveling the contest early in the second half at 0-10 to 1-7. But that was as good as it got for Beaufort as they went through a barren 20 minute spell and Legion added seven unanswered points with O'Grady the main scorer.
Jack O'Connor scored a point and Ciaran Kennedy scored Beaufort's second goal in the 57th minute but it was too little too late as Ryan O'Grady and Oisin Fleming closed the game out for Legion.
Rathmore hammered Spa 4-9 to 0-6 with all four goals coming in the opening half as Rathmore led 4-2 to 0-4 at the interval. Darragh Rahilly, Alan Dineen, Jamie Mahony and veteran goal John Moynihan's scored the fourth and that made the second half purely academic. Rathmore are now in fourth place with eight points.
Dr Crokes had little difficulty getting back to winning ways after their last round one point loss to Strand Road as Glenbeigh/Glencar are struggling with injuries and numbers and will be returning back down to division two. Crokes were superb winning on a 2-20 to 1-6 scoreline. Points from David Shaw (3), Billy Courtney (2), Alex Hennigan (2) and Brian Looney saw the home side take a 0-8 to no score lead by the 16th minute before the visitors struck for a goal in the 17th minute.
Ten minutes later Cian McMahon scored Dr Crokes first goal as they led 1-9 to 1-1 at half time. The second half was notable only for the point scoring of David Shaw and the precocious Alex Hennigan while Cian McMahon with his goal late on top and tailed this facile Dr Crokes win.
Ballymacelligott who do not have the use of their home pitch are struggling on four points and were well beaten by Glenflesk on a 4-11 to 0-13 scoreline. Dara Roche got two goals in the first half for Glenflesk with Dylan Roche and Peter Cronin scoring two in the second.

Tom McKibbin and Graeme McDowell's LIV Golf prize money after Rahm's near miss
Jon Rahm claimed his second successive LIV Golf individual championship despite suffering defeat in a play-off in Indianapolis and failing to secure a single victory on the tour throughout the entire season. The Spaniard was beaten by Colombia's Sebastian Munoz and remains without a triumph for more than 12 months. Nevertheless, he edged out Joaquin Niemann for the crown and the $18 million top prize despite the Chilean golfer claiming five victories on the LIV Tour in 2025. Rahm confessed the title felt "slightly bittersweet" following his defeat in a play-off for the second consecutive LIV event. "Like I know I'm supposed to be happy. It's a great moment. But it just doesn't feel great to finish the year losing two play-offs," said Rahm. "Have a great Sunday today and then hit the pin and unfortunate moment on the playoff hole. "That part doesn't feel great, so I'm sure over time I'll get over that, and I really appreciate what I've done this year. To be able to win the season without actually winning a tournament, I know eventually I'll be proud of that. "Right now it's slightly more something I'm going to suffer over a little bit more, and it may never be replicated. "You need a lot of coincidences to go on exactly with the year Joaquin had. He's won five times; he's played incredible golf. One could argue he was probably the more deserving guy to win this. "But we have the points system that we have, and somehow, I don't know how, I managed to pull through and get it done." The individual rankings were confirmed on Sunday with former Open champion Henrik Stenson the most high-profile player to suffer relegation after being edged out by his Majestics GC teammate and co-captain Ian Poulter, who avoided the drop himself thanks to four birdies in the final five holes. Rahm's Legion teammate Tom McKibbin finished T22 alongside Stenson on 11 under-par, but finished 20th overall in his debut season. The Belfast golfer also banked $203,000 last weekend while Graeme McDowell faces an uncertain future at LIV. The former US Open champion claimed $307,667 after finished T14 at Indianapolis, but is 34th overall in the individual standings, meaning he is in the 'open zone' and is not guaranteed a spot with Smash GC next season. The LIV season ends with the Team Championship in Michigan this weekend.

Gneeveguilla stun Kerins O'Rahillys with 19-point drubbing
It was a bad weekend for three established big three clubs in Tralee, as they all failed to land a glove on their respective championship opponents. Following Austin Stacks' defeat to Na Gaeil on Friday night, John Mitchels were expected to lose to Kilcummin, but while some would have thought that Gneeveguilla would test Kerins O'Rahilly's in Strand Road, nobody could have predicted a 19-point humiliation as Gneeveguilla shredded the home defence at times to record a 5-16 to 0-12 victory and are now back in the battle for the two qualifying places. Following their 1-19 to 3-9 win at Glenbeigh, Beaufort are in pole position to top group four and earn a home quarter-final. Kerins O'Rahillys now have to travel to Beaufort and beat the locals to stay in the IFC, while Gneeveguilla, who lost the previous week to Beaufort, will now host winless Glenbeigh/Glencar and a win or possibly a draw will be good enough to see them make the knockout stages. A hat-trick of points from man of the match Pádraig Doyle, plus points from Paudie O'Leary, Pa Brosnan and Paul O'Leary, had the winner's six points to the good, 0-7 to 0-1 by the 14th minute. It got worse for O'Rahillys a minute later when Doyle set up Sean O'Keeffe to finish to the net. Trailing by nine points (1-7 to 0-1), Kerins O'Rahillys needed to finish the half strongly but instead, in the 28th minute, Gneeveguilla struck for a second goal, finished expertly by Kerry senior panelist Paudie O'Leary. Jack Savage was the only home player who looked capable of doing any damage but Gneeveguilla led 2-9 to 0-5 at half-time and the Tralee side needed a Lazarus-like comeback. But it was not to be as the visitors struck for two early second-half goals from Padraig Doyle. Beaufort made it two wins on the trot when they cut loose in the second half to beat Glenbeigh/Glencar 1-19 to 3-9 but it was more comprehensive than a four-point win suggests. Inspired by their two Kerry seniors, Mike Breen and Sean O'Brien, Beaufort led 0-10 to 1-6 with the Glenbeigh goal scored by Caolim Teahan. Fergal Hallissey, Jack and Darragh O'Connor, along with Liam Carey, kept Beaufort in front. The crucial score arrived in the 37th minute, as Liam Carey racing through the opposition defence. A defender did get a hand in to dispossess him, but Carey rode the tackle soccer-style before blasting a brilliant shot to the net. In Group 1, Kilcummin joined Fossa on four points at the top of the table after beating John Mitchels 0-16 to 0-10 in Tralee during a thunderstorm. Paul O'Shea scored 0-5 for the winners, Brendan Kealy and Mark O'Shea kicked two pointers and now they will take on Fossa at home next weekend to decide who tops this group and gets home advantage for the last eight. In group 2 Laune Rangers, thanks to a late Eoghan Hassett point from play, grabbed a 1-10 to 0-13 share of spoils and now Rangers have three points, while Ballydonoghue have two. But it's still wide open as Legion grabbed a win over Listowel Emmets 0-16 to 2-9, with Joe Joe Grimes leveling the game 0-12 to 1-9 midway through the second half. When Sean Keane found the Legion net, the drama began as the sides were level. Listowel were on the attack going in search of a winner when they were caught on a defensive breach and David O'Sullivan kicked Legion in front, but after Listowel Emmets were awarded a free from two-point land, Sean Keane saw his point go agonizingly wide as Legion were still in the mix. Laune Rangers now play Listowel, while Ballydonoghue will be at home to Legion, with all to play for. In group 3, An Ghaeltacht impressed with a hard-earned win over St Mary's in Gallarus while Desmonds and Glenflesk traded blows in Castleisland. Glenflesk, thanks to Luke Crowley and Tommy Bowler (1-13 between them), were the difference for the East Kerry side who beat Desmonds 1-21 to 3-11. Bowler kicked four two-pointers in the opening half as Glenflesk led 0-15 to 2-7 with the Desmonds goals scored by Adam O'Donoghue and PJ Curtin. In a rip-roaring contest, Luka Brosnan gave Desmonds the lead in 49th minute but Darragh Roche leveled in the 51st minute and then, in a dramatic finish with the sides level, Luke Crowley kicked Glenflesk in front. Then a disastrous kick-out resulted in Tommy Bowler drilling the ball to the Desmonds net as Glenflesk made it two wins from two on a 1-21 to 3-11 scoreline. An Ghaeltacht are now just a point behind Glenflesk after a resounding 2-18 to 0-15 win over St Mary's. Ex-Cork dual star Aidan Walsh was gifted a first-half goal when Bryan Sheehan injured his Achilles as he took a short kick out. Walsh collected and rolled the ball into the empty net. Sheehan had to retire and so did Walsh - at half-time - but Cathal Ó Beaglaoich, with 1-2 in the second-half and Ruaidhri Ó Beaglaoich with 0-5, ensured that they now travel to Glenflesk next weekend to decide who tops the group.

Kerry Club SHC: Diarmuid O'Connor stars for Na Gaeil in Tralee derby victory over Stacks
Kerry Club SFC group 1, round 2: Na Gaeil 1-15 Austin Stacks 1-12 Inspired by Oisín Maunsell and Diarmuid O'Connor, Na Gaeil delivered a strong performance to earn an opening win in the Kerry Senior Club Football Championship, defeating their Tralee neighbours Austin Stacks in Killeen. Maunsell, who was part of the Abbeydorney team that lifted the Kerry senior hurling title at the beginning of the month, bagged 1-2 coming off the bench in the opening half. Diarmuid O'Connor, joined by his former Kerry midfield partner in Jack Barry, oozed class for his side, delivering two majestic two-pointers to keep the scoreboard ticking. It was a physical contest between the neighbours, the men from Killeen and Connolly Park both showed intensity right from the first whistle, and while Stacks did start the brighter, Na Gaeil produced a spirited comeback in an absorbing contest that swung dramatically after the opening quarter. Stacks were the sharper side early on, with Paddy Lane and Sean Quilter both landing two-pointers inside the first six minutes to establish a 0-4 to 0-0 lead. Na Gaeil did have a goal chance in the third minute but Ronan Shanahan was on hand to make a vital block. Aside from that, the hosts struggled to settle, but points from the returning Barry and James O'Connor kept them in touch. Joe O'Connor's fine two-point effort cutting in from the right wing pushed Stacks four clear again in the 23rd minute, but the game's complexion changed almost instantly. Oisín Maunsell rifled a shot to the roof of the Stacks goal before Enda O'Connor and Kieran O'Connor added points to put Na Gaeil ahead for the first time in the 27th minute. Maunsell struck again just before half-time, however a two-pointer free from Quilter levelled the tie deep into stoppage time, 1-6 to 0-9 at the break. Na Gaeil restarted strongly, with Diarmuid O'Connor, Devine (free), and Enda O'Connor firing over in quick succession to move the Killeen men 1-9 to 0-9 ahead. Stacks rallied through Armin Heinrich and goalkeeper Michael Tansley's 45, but a superb two-pointer from Diarmuid O'Connor kept Na Gaeil in control. Jack Sheehan extended the gap for Na Gaeil before things got worse for Stacks with ten minutes left. Dylan Casey was shown a second yellow card for a coming together with Diarmuid O'Connor. Stacks, down to 14, looked to regroup. Quilter's close range fisted effort reduced the margin, yet Maunsell continued his impact from the bench with another score. A dramatic finish followed when Daniel Kirby's attempt at a point under pressure found Quilter close to goal, and he hit the net to leave just a single point between the sides with 58 minutes elapsed. However, Na Gaeil had the final say, with Diarmuid O'Connor landing his second two-pointer in the closing stages to seal a big win, blowing the group wide open.
