Sirens stars Julianne Moore, Meghann Fahy and Milly Alcock as the lead characters in the series.
A billionaire's island estate, two disagreeing sisters and an unsettling boss–assistant dynamic form the heart of Netflix's new limited series Sirens. Released just a day ago, the dark comedy is already creating buzz on social media. The show, with only five episodes, has gathered divided opinions from viewers. The series stars Julianne Moore, Meghann Fahy and Milly Alcock as the lead characters in the series.
Since its release, viewers have been flooding social media with their takes. While some praised the performances and tone, others felt the show missed the mark in certain areas.
One viewer commented, 'Sirens isn't perfect, but its 3 leads make it worthwhile. It is a quick binge at only 5 episodes that has enough twists and effective humor that will make you feel satisfied. If 'Stepford Wives" is your cup of tea, you will dig this."

Another shared, 'Great cast, but a wasted opportunity. They should've gone all the way in with the Sirens theme or cult element."

Expressing frustration with the show's storyline, a person wrote, 'I am so disappointed with #Sirens. So much lesbian tension that goes nowhere. Great performances though but I feel absolutely baited. Stay for the drama, not the sapphic. It had so much potential for all of us. Could have been a great queer drama. Really bummed."

But not all reviews were bad. An individual praised the sibling dynamics, saying, 'Milly and Meghann portrayed the sister vibes perfectly. I felt like they were genuinely sisters."
'I love Simone Dewitt so much! Her backstory is so sad and she tries so hard at everything, I just want to give her a hug!! Go watch Sirens, if you weren't already a fan of Milly you will be after seeing her in this show!!!" a fan shared love for Milly Alcock's character.

Created by Molly Smith Metzler, the writer behind Maid and Shameless, Sirens is loosely adapted from her 2011 play Elemeno Pea. The story follows Simone, a young woman who has climbed the social ladder and now works as an assistant to Michaela Kell, the wealthy wife of a billionaire. When Simone's older sister Devon visits her at the private island estate, tensions rise as the sisters' contrasting lives and unresolved issues come to the surface. What unfolds is a tale not just about sisterhood, but also about class, control and personal identity.
Meghann Fahy plays Devon, while Milly Alcock stars as Simone. Julianne Moore takes on the role of Michaela Kell. The series also features Kevin Bacon, Glenn Howerton, Felix Solis, Bill Camp, Josh Segarra, Trevor Salter, Britne Oldford and Lauren Weedman.

Rana Daggubati slams paparazzi culture in Bollywood as he reacts to video of him getting angry at paps: ‘It's annoying'

A video of actor Rana Daggubati getting angry at paparazzi for invading his privacy recently surfaced online. Now, in an interview with India Today, Rana has addressed the incident, stating that he didn't call the paparazzi and criticised the culture prevalent in Bollywood. (Also Read: Rana Naidu season 2 trailer: Arjun Rampal draws battle lines with Rana Daggubati as brutal villain. I don't like them in my personal space, and I have been very vocal about it. They come outside my home, which I have respectfully told them [not to do]. And even at airports, they still turn up. I think it's pretty annoying.' A post shared by Viral Bhayani (@viralbhayani) He added that such a culture doesn't exist in the Telugu film industry, where 'privacy is respected'. Speaking further about the airport video, he said: 'I think that in the process of [avoiding them], I dropped my phone because there were so many [people], and they were filming that too. So I think it's... I mean, make content with someone who's paying you and calling you for it. Make it with the ones who want you to be there. Shoot people who are happy to have you [around].' The viral video in question showed Rana exiting the Mumbai airport when several cameramen surrounded him, causing him to bump into a passerby and drop his phone. He was then seen sternly addressing the paparazzi. While many fans supported him for standing up for his privacy, others were surprised by his reaction. Rana will next be seen in the second season of his show Rana Naidu. Directed by Karan Anshuman, Suparn Verma, and Abhay Chopra, the show also stars Surveen Chawla, Venkatesh Daggubati, Kriti Kharbanda, Abhishek Banerjee, and Sushant Singh in key roles. It is set to premiere on Netflix on June 13.

The Royals director Priyanka Ghose defends Bhumi Pednekar amid trolling: ‘I have seen her go through so much'

Actor Bhumi Pednekar has been at the receiving end of the criticism after the release of Netflix show The Royals. The actor's performance has not really hit a mark with the audience. Now, the director of the show, Priyanka Ghose, has come out in defense of the actor praising her tenacity and "humongous transformation'. (Also read: The Royals director responds to criticism of show, Ishaan Khatter, Bhumi Pednekar's 'absent' chemistry: I'll try better) In an interview with News 18, Priyanka said, "You will be treated like Goddesses, and you will also be ridiculed by trolls. All of the actors and creative stakeholders on this project were very well aware of what we were setting out to do. So, even with Bhumi, she has had an incredibly successful career so far. She's always gotten a lot of love and also, sometimes a lot of criticism for whatever she's done. I don't think she allows it to affect her at all. That's the beauty of working with actors who have been doing this for a long time." Priyanka said that she has been privy to Bhumi's transformational journey and always admired her discipline and professionalism. "I have seen that girl go through so much. From being an overweight girl to trying to get to this size, it's very hard. We all aim to lose weight, but not all of us can do it. She's so healthy and disciplined. Both Ishaan and Bhumi. I can't get over how they would wake up before us to hit the gym, get ready, and get into hair and makeup. Bhumi would already be on set even before the generator van had been switched on," the director adds. Directed by Priyanka Ghose and Nupur Asthana, The Royals is a romantic comedy about a financially struggling royal family in modern-day India. The series stars Ishaan Khatter, Bhumi Pednekar, Nora Fatehi, Zeenat Aman, Vihaan Samat, and Sakshi Tanwar, among others. It released on May 9 on Netflix.
