Aubameyang leaves Saudi side Al-Qadsiah after one season

Gabon striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has left Saudi Pro League side Al-Qadsiah after one season, the club said on Thursday.
"Thank you, Oba. All the best," the club posted on X without providing more details.
The former Arsenal player joined Al-Qadsiah last year, after they were promoted to the top-tier league.
During his one-season spell, the 36-year-old scored 21 goals and made three assists in 36 matches in all competitions, helping the team finish fourth in the league and reach the King's Cup final, where they lost to Al-Ittihad. REUTERS

The General Motors-backed team have taken staff already from rival outfits, their European headquarters at Silverstone being close to other factories, and are also competing for sponsorship. Brown, whose team are dominating this year's championship after winning the 2024 constructors' title, saw no reason to fear a dilution of resources, however. "I think on employees they are definitely going to take a lot more than they give, which is fine," he said at last weekend's Hungarian Grand Prix. "My general view is if someone wants to go work for a rival team then shame on me. "For sponsors, I think they'll bring more new to the table than take." Brown expected Cadillac also to bring more competition eventually, although they faced a tough challenge as newcomers, and more fans to a series that now has three U.S. rounds and a growing audience in America. "Will we get a better U.S. TV deal, more American presence? Cadillac secured approval of their bid in March, after a 764-day entry process and initial opposition from Formula One and the other 10 teams wary of a potential reduction in the share of revenues. The team are also backed by TWG Global, whose CEO Mark Walter has an estimated net worth of $12.5 billion, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index. India arrived with a depleted attack after veteran seamer Mohammed Shami was deemed unfit for the tour and pace spearhead Bumrah available only for three of the five tests as part of his workload management. It meant Siraj had to shoulder a bigger responsibility and the 31-year-old responded with a lion-hearted effort - playing all five tests and finishing the series as its highest wicket-taker. Thanks largely to his never-say-die attitude, India drew the series 2-2, winning in Birmingham and at the Oval - incidentally matches that Bumrah sat out. Siraj bowled a staggering 185-odd overs in the series claiming 23 wickets and drawing 283 false shots - edges or misses - according to data and analytics provider CricViz. England coach Brendon McCullum was among those impressed by Siraj's tireless aggression. Siraj not only survived the rigour of playing five tests in a row but was also unrelenting whenever he had the ball in his hand, regardless of the stage of the match. It prompted England batting mainstay Joe Root to call Siraj a "real warrior" while former India captain Virat Kohli singled out the bowler for his relentless aggression. "Special mention to Siraj who will put everything on the line for the team. Extremely happy for him," Kohli wrote on X. Siraj, who won the player of the match award at The Oval, did not fuss about his workload and said his "body is fine". "(Whether) you bowl the sixth over or the ninth over, I don't care," he told reporters on Monday. "I believe you bowl every ball for your country, not for yourself. The New South Wales Waratah battled injuries in recent seasons but made his first Australia appearance under coach Joe Schmidt against Fiji last month after nearly two years out of the Wallabies.
