I'm 28 & homeless with 6 children – the council won't help & trolls call me a ‘scrounger' and tell me to ‘close my legs'

The content creator, who has amassed 10,600 followers on TikTok, took to social media to 'introduce' herself, but was left with a string of horrendous remarks, including keyboard warriors telling her to 'get a job ' and calling her a ' scrounger '.
As well as this, the brunette, who is mum to five sons and one daughter, was also told to 'shut her legs'.
Posting online, the 28-year-old who has 'six beautiful children', explained: 'We are currently homeless and in temporary accommodation and the council are doing nothing to help us.'
Beth then revealed to Fabulous that her family were given a Section 21 (non-fault eviction) notice at the start of the year, leaving them homeless on 21st January 2025.
Following this, Beth and her partner tried desperately to find a property to rent, but had no luck.
While Beth doesn't work, her partner does and they were soon given temporary accommodation provided by Shelter, a housing and homelessness charity that supports more than one million people a year.
Beth told Fabulous: 'We tried everything to get another private rented home but unfortunately fell short.'
The mother also got candid on her experience with trolling, as she shared: 'Trolls on my account are constantly saying "get a job", "why have so many kids if you can't afford them", "shut your legs".
'They even go as far as saying they 'feel sorry' for my children and I'm 'neglecting them'.'
But Beth was eager to set the record straight and continued: 'I'd just like them to realise that anyone's circumstances can change within a second.
Young Mum Shares Life in a Homeless Shelter
'I would hate to see anyone else in my position feeling useless.'
Beth's TikTok clip, which she posted under the username @ bethj96x, has clearly left many open-mouthed, as it has quickly amassed 89,800 views.
What to do if you're made homeless
In England, your council must help if you're legally homeless or will become homeless within the next 8 weeks.
You may be legally homeless if:
you've no legal right to live in accommodation anywhere in the world
you cannot get into your home, for example your landlord has locked you out
it's not reasonable to stay in your home, for example you're at risk of violence or abuse
you're forced to live apart from your family or people you normally live with because there's no suitable accommodation for you
you're living in very poor conditions such as overcrowding
There are different types of support your council could offer you. For example, they may offer you advice, emergency housing, support to find longer-term housing or help so you can stay in your home.
If you are looking for advice you can contacting housing charity Shelter for advice, Citizen Legal Advice for a legal aid, and speak to your local council for help.
But social media users were left divided by Beth's video - whilst the nasty trolls were out in full force, others were eager to share messages of love and support for the young mother.
One person said: 'Close your legs, if you can't support, you shouldn't have.'
Another added: 'Get a job.'
A third commented: 'Shut your legs you scrounger.'
Whilst someone else snapped: 'You're in accommodation so they have helped you. It's a roof over your head. Be grateful.'
To this, Beth clapped back and confirmed: 'Not suitable accommodation…I am grateful.'
What It's Really Like Growing Up On A Council Estate
Fabulous reporter, Leanne Hall, recalls what it's like growing up in social housing.
As someone who grew up in a block of flats on a council estate, there are many wild stories I could tell.
From seeing a neighbour throw dog poo at the caretaker for asking them to mow their lawn (best believe they ended up on the Jeremy Kyle show later in life) to blazing rows over packages going missing, I've seen it all.
While there were many times things kicked off, I really do believe most of the time it's because families living on council estates get to know each other so well, they forget they're neighbours and not family.
Yes, things can go from zero to 100 quickly, but you know no matter what you can rely on your neighbour to borrow some milk or watch all of the kids playing outside.
And if you ask me, it's much nicer being in a tight community where boundaries can get crossed than never even knowing your neighbour's name while living on a fancy street.
Not only this, but another questioned: 'But what are you doing about it also??'
In response, Beth acknowledged: 'Doing everything I can, trust me! I've applied for so many homes.'
At the same time, one user gushed: 'The comments on here are wild! Fun fact, council houses are for everyone, you don't have to be a dole dosser to have one.
'Most people are only three paychecks away from homelessness. Good luck mama.'
A second agreed: 'What's up with these comments? Have a heart people! Hope you get a place sorted soon!'
Meanwhile, another penned: 'I hope you get your forever home soon.'

Justin Timberlake mercilessly mocked for his 'embarrassing' dance moves
Justin Timberlake has had several setbacks on his tour - and his latest viral moment isn't helping. The singer, 43, is currently on the European leg of his Forget Tomorrow World Tour, but a video showing his on-stage moves is threatening to ruin the world tour - again. 'I mean I love JT just as much as the next boy band obsessed girlypop but LOL this is comical,' TikTok user Diary Of Kikito, who originally shared the clip, wrote. In the video, from one of Timberlake's latest shows, the Sexyback singer kicked the microphone stand back and forth. He then stood and held it before lowering it towards the ground and dramatically switching hands. The video was also shared to X, formerly known as Twitter, with a post that read: 'Justin Timberlake is once again going viral for his embarrassing dance moves during one of his concerts.' The post was accompanied by the short clip of Timberlake dancing on a circular stage. Users chimed in with their thoughts - many agreeing his moves weren't as impressive as hoped. 'It's so funny that people are just NOW realizing how cringe Katy Perry and Justin Timberlake are lol they aren't bad now you guys, they've always been s**t. Both of them have always been the corniest performers ever,' someone else chimed in. Another chimed in: 'And he thought the DUI was gonna ruin the world tour.' 'This feels like when my kid was small and would yell mom look at this,' laughed someone else. 'He's like a bad magician act in Vegas,' mocked another. It's not the first time the pop star has been mocked on tour. Last year when a fan filmed him performing in Nashville in December, with the video going viral after being shared on TikTok. Timberlake was performing at Bridgestone Arena on his Forget Tomorrow World Tour when things took an unexpected turn, as a harness around his waistline drew attention to a particularly noticeable area. In the footage, the NSYNC star could be seen performing with the harness riding a little too high, making his crotch the star of the moment. It seems Timberlake must have seen the video - and the comments - and decided to wear a different shirt for his latest show in Kansas City on December 20. He has faced backlash for canceling multiple shows last minute during the world tour at the beginning of the year One concert-goer recorded the moment he was attached to the harness and when they shared it on TikTok, they wrote: 'Justin's noticeably longer shirt!' Timberlake has been marred in controversy over the past year. Earlier in the year, he has faced backlash for canceling multiple shows last minute during the world tour. Most recently, he canceled his final concert in Columbus, Ohio in February due to illness, but fans were left furious as they had already been lining up with minutes left before the doors would be opened when they found out. Timberlake has also been slammed for performing very few of his nostalgic hits and rather singing songs nearly all from his latest album, Everything I Thought It Was, an album that few concertgoers seemed to know the words to and had been branded a commercial failure. Back in June 2024, Timberlake was pulled over under the suspicion of drunk driving in Long Island. On June 18, it was reported that he failed a series of sobriety tests at the time, according to a police report exclusively obtained by He accepted a plea deal following his arrest, which saw bodycam footage going viral when he was seen telling the officer, who did not know who he was, that the arrest 'would ruin the world tour.'

Four red flags your partner is cheating Private Investigator Aaron Bond from BondRees revealed four warning signs your partner might be cheating. They start to take their phone everywhere with them In close relationships, it's normal to know each other's passwords and use each other's phones, if their phone habits change then they may be hiding something. Aaron says: "If your partner starts changing their passwords, starts taking their phone everywhere with them, even around the house or they become defensive when you ask to use their phone it could be a sign of them not being faithful." "You should also look at how they place their phone down when not in use. If they face the phone with the screen facing down, then they could be hiding something." They start telling you less about their day When partners cheat they can start to avoid you, this could be down to them feeling guilty or because it makes it easier for them to lie to you. "If you feel like your partner has suddenly begun to avoid you and they don't want to do things with you any more or they stop telling you about their day then this is another red flag." "Partners often avoid their spouses or tell them less about their day because cheating can be tough, remembering all of your lies is impossible and it's an easy way to get caught out," says Aaron. Their libido changes Your partner's libido can change for a range of reasons so it may not be a sure sign of cheating but it can be a red flag according to Aaron. Aaron says: "Cheaters often have less sex at home because they are cheating, but on occasions, they may also have more sex at home, this is because they feel guilty and use this increase in sex to hide their cheating. You may also find that your partner will start to introduce new things into your sex life that weren't there before." They become negative towards you Cheaters know that cheating is wrong and to them, it will feel good, this can cause tension and anxiety within themselves which they will need to justify. "To get rid of the tension they feel inside they will try to convince themselves that you are the problem and they will become critical of you out of nowhere. Maybe you haven't walked the dog that day, put the dishes away or read a book to your children before bedtime. A small problem like this can now feel like a big deal and if you experience this your partner could be cheating," warns Aaron. One person wrote: "Big fan of your work." Another commented: 'Him losing twice the same night is gold." "Ma'am you are a psychological genius," penned a third. "He's still thinking about that to this day. In fact his new girlfirend has to remind him he's beautiful once a week." Meanwhile a fourth said: "He was trying to play checkers but BABYYY you were playing CHESS." "Not gonna lie that's a pretty solid way of handling that,' claimed a fifth. Someone else added: 'Girl, if you don't catfish him every year like it's a nationally observed holiday, what are you doing with your life? Get him again."

'Prankster' storms stage at Katy Perry concert in Sydney
SYDNEY — Pop star Katy Perry was surprised at her concert in Sydney on Monday when an attendee briefly ran up to her on stage and grabbed her before being escorted away by security. Perry was midway through her show at the the 21,000-seat Qudos Bank Arena, the second of three sold-out dates in the Australian city on her 'Lifetimes Tour.' Video footage posted by a concertgoer and verified by NBC News showed a man run down the circular stage, throw an arm around Perry's shoulder and start bouncing and dancing wildly. Perry, who appeared surprised, quickly moved away as she continued singing her 2008 hit 'Hot N Cold.' 'There's never going to be another show like this, so just enjoy it, Sydney,' she said, as the fan appeared to struggle with security guards. 'What the hell is going on?' Perry said to the crowd, as the man was dragged off stage. A representative for Perry could not immediately be reached for comment. The incident highlights growing concerns about poor etiquette at concerts, with audience members throwing items at artists such as Harry Styles and Lady Gaga. Police in the state of New South Wales, which includes Sydney, told NBC News that a man had been arrested and charged with two offenses: entering enclosed land and obstructing a person in performance of work or duties. They said he had been detained by security after jumping on stage during a concert around 9:20 p.m. local time. The man has been granted conditional bail and is due to appear in court on June 23, the police said, declining to name him in the meantime. He has also been banned for six months from Sydney Olympic Park, where the arena is located. The man has been identified in Australian media as Johnson Wen, who describes himself as a 'prankster' on his TikTok account, where he goes by the username pyjamamann and has a little over 1,100 followers. 'I was like, 'Let me get on stage with you,' and then she freaked out because I think she realized I wasn't a performer,' Wen told Australia's 9 News about the incident, adding that he was 'about to do the extra Fortnite move, but security got there too quick.' Previous videos posted on Wen's account show him running on stage at a concert by The Weeknd in Melbourne last year, and onto the field at the FIFA Women's World Cup final in 2023. 'I'm planning to quit forever, because you get in way too much trouble for it,' he said. Wen did not immediately respond to a request for comment. By Tuesday, he had posted four different videos of him rushing the stage. "Katy Perry your songs are my Childhood Memmory since 2008," he wrote in a caption for one of the videos. Another caption read,"Me Hugging Katy Perry on Stage. I said to Her 'let me dance for you'"
