This summer, Cha Eun-Woo is inviting fans worldwide into an unprecedented interactive experience with the launch of his virtual reality concert.
The upcoming Cha Eun-Woo VR Concert: Memories will show in 21 cities across five continents starting next month. The VR concert allows the singer-actor-model to connect with attendees in a 'choose your own adventure' viewing that makes a tailor-made and unique experience for every ticket holder.
Set against a sweeping romantic narrative backdrop, Memories casts viewers as the lead character, navigating moments of love, heartbreak, and reconciliation alongside the Forbes 30 Under 30 - Asia honoree. Based on the teaser trailer released alongside the announcement (below), fans can choose to experience everything from an intimate, sweeping ballad performance to more upbeat, choreography-heavy stages, allowing every choice to help build the visual and emotional tone of the ASTRO member's concert. The tagline seen on the official poster, 'I'll leave our ending up to you,' further encapsulates this spirit of co-creation, transforming the passive spectator movie experience into becoming an active storyteller and creator.
The experience is produced and powered by the VR concert platform company AMAZE. Utilizing AI, virtual effects, and more, the U.S.-based immersive-tech pioneers have incorporated their 3D visuals and hyper-realistic experiences into movie theaters, apps, and headset devices like the Meta Quest or Apple Vision Pro.
While 2025 is not even halfway over, Cha Eun Woo has kept himself busy with a range of different projects.
As part of his duties as an official global ambassador for Saint Laurent, he traveled to Paris Week Week to attend the French house's Womenswear Fall/Winter 2025-2026 show alongside major fashion names like Linda Evangelista, Chloë Sevigny, Zoe Saldana, Austin Butler and Rosé. This year, he was also chosen as the new advertising model for Korea's Shinhan Bank in February and as the brand ambassador for the international clothing brand Marithé et François Girbaud in March.
Korean director Nam Dae-Jung also cast the superstar in his upcoming film, First Ride, which will mark Eun-Woo's debut as a leading man on the big screen.
The star was also reportedly responsible for leading the charge in recording the special single 'Moon,' a tribute song to his late band mate Moon Bin that brought together his ASTRO band mates as well as members of K-pop groups like SEVENTEEN, GFRIEND, Monsta X, Stray Kids and more to remember their friend.
In other news, fans will soon see Eun-Woo back on their screens as he appears in an upcoming music video for the new album coming from K-pop solo star IU. Her forthcoming record, Flower Bookmark 3, drops on May 27 and will include several special covers as the third instillation of her remake albums.
Fans can look forward to Cha Eun-Woo VR Concert: Memories screening in the following countries, with more territories coming soon. Viewers can stay up to date with more information at amazeVRconcerts.com/ChaEunWoo

Coco Gauff defeats Loïs Boisson 6-1, 6-2 to reach her second French Open final

PARIS (AP) — As popular as Coco Gauff is, she knew full well that nearly all of the Court Philippe-Chatrier fans would be against her during the French Open semifinals Thursday. That's because Gauff, an American, was taking on a French opponent — and one who came from nowhere, 361st-ranked Loïs Boisson. So the No. 2-seeded Gauff turned to a trick that 24-time major champion Novak Djokovic has talked about using: When the partisan crowd was loudly singing Boisson's first name, Gauff pretended they were chanting 'Coco!' Not that it mattered much, truly, because Gauff was by far the superior player throughout a 6-1, 6-2 victory that earned her a second trip to the final at Roland-Garros. Three years ago, Gauff missed out on a chance to leave with the trophy when Iga Swiatek beat her. This time, Swiatek won't be around for the championship match on Saturday, because her 26-match unbeaten run at the clay-court Grand Slam tournament ended earlier Thursday with a 7-6 (1), 4-6, 6-0 loss to No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka. Sabalenka vs. Gauff will be the first No. 1 vs. No. 2 final in Paris since 2013, when Serena Williams defeated Maria Sharapova, and just the second in the last 30 years. ___ AP tennis:

Olympic star, 3-time pro champion Vasiliy Lomachenko announces retirement from boxing

Vasiliy Lomachenko has announced his retirement from boxing after a decorated career that included two Olympic gold medals and professional world titles in three weight classes. Lomachenko announced his decision with a video on social media Thursday. 'I am grateful for every victory and every defeat, both in the ring and in life,' Lomachenko said. 'I'm thankful that as my career comes to an end, I've gained clarity about the direction a person must take in order to achieve true victory.' The Ukrainian star burst onto the international boxing scene at the Beijing Olympics in 2008, when the 20-year-old prospect steamrolled the competition. He showed off athleticism, footwork and ring intelligence far beyond his years, clearly marking himself as a once-in-a-generation talent. But he eschewed the professional sport and returned to win gold at the London Games four years later alongside Oleksandr Usyk, his close friend and the future undisputed professional world heavyweight champion. After going 396-1 as an amateur, Lomachenko finally embarked on a pro career largely spent in the U.S. Lomachenko won the WBO featherweight title in his third professional fight in June 2014, beating Gary Russell Jr. after ordering his promoters to get him a near-immediate title shot after turning pro. He won the junior lightweight belt in 2016 by stopping Román Martínez, and he added the WBA lightweight world title in 2018, stopping Jorge Linares. Lomachenko finished his pro career 18-3 with 12 stoppage victories, incurring late-career decision losses to Teofimo Lopez and Devin Haney. 'It's been an honor for all of us at Top Rank to promote the pro boxing career of Vasiliy Lomachenko,' said Bob Arum, Lomachenko's U.S. promoter. 'He was a generational champion, and we will all miss his participation in the sport.' Lomachenko paused his career for several months after Russia's invasion of Ukraine, and he has fought only three times since 2021. He stopped George Kambosos Jr. in the 11th round of his final bout in May 2024. ___ AP boxing:

Twin Cities weekend: Giant pencil sharpening, Edina Art Fair, Prince celebration

It's that time of year again: The giant pencil at Lake of the Isles is getting its birthday sharpening. Context: Since its creation in 2022, owner John Higgins has thrown a massive annual party for the community to celebrate the 16-foot-tall pencil sculpture, carved from a tree in Higgins' front yard by chainsaw sculptor Curtis Ingvoldstad. Previous years have included "human pencil" dancers, a drum line, T-shirt cannons, professional pencil sharpener David Rees, speeches on scrolls presented by barristers and free ice cream. What to expect: The 4-foot-long giant pencil sharpener will make an appearance, but the rest of the programming is largely a mystery — though according to Higgins, the customary complimentary pencils handed out at the event will be purple in honor of Prince's birthday. 📍 Details: Saturday, June 7 from 1-2:30pm at 2217 E. Lake of the Isles Parkway, Minneapolis, rain or shine. Free! More things to do ... 💜 Remember Prince's legacy at Paisley Park and downtown Minneapolis' Celebration 2025 Thursday-Sunday. This year's event honors "the vibrant era of 1985" and includes access to panels, concerts, dance parties, exclusive listening sessions of unreleased audio and more. Packages for the four-day festival start at $752.75 🎨 The Edina Art Fair returns Friday-Sunday at 50th & France with over 250 local and national artists alongside live music, three beer and wine gardens, plenty of food trucks and a specialty culinary artisan marketplace. 🌈 Kick off Pride month in the suburbs this Saturday as Golden Valley and Anoka both hold their city-wide celebrations.
