
ATP Rankings: Shelton goes past Djokovic with Canadian Open title
The 22-year-old Shelton took down Russia's Karen Khachanov 6-7(5), 6-4, 7-6(3) in the summit clash in Toronto, becoming the youngest American in two decades to win a Masters 1000 title.
Former World No. 1 Djokovic has been out of action since his defeat to Jannik Sinner in the semifinals at Wimbledon.

The 29-year-old Khachanov, who took down World No. 3 Alexander Zverev to reach the second Masters 1000 final of his career and first since he won the crown in Paris in 2018, moved up four spots to 12th. It is his highest ranking since August 2023.
Alexei Popyrin, despite failing to defend his title after losing to Zverev in the quarterfinals, gained seven spots to move up to 19th. The 26-year-old Australian has broken the Top 20 for the first time.
Elsewhere in the Top 100, Spain's Alejandro Davidovich Fokina (18th) and Jaume Munar (48th), Frenchman Corentin Moutet (44th), USA's Learner Tien (55th), and Australia's Tristan Schoolkate (97th) achieved new career high rankings.
