India has once again blocked the social media accounts of several prominent Pakistani celebrities and Youtube channels, just a day after some accounts were briefly accessible due to what Indian officials called a 'technical glitch'.
Accounts belonging to Fawad Khan, Mahira Khan and Hania Aamir remained restricted on Thursday, while those of Mawra Hocane, Saba Qamar, Ahad Raza Mir, Yumna Zaidi, and Danish Taimoor were briefly visible to users in India on Wednesday before being restricted again.
The YouTube channels of former cricketers Shahid Afridi and Shoaib Akhtar along with many tv channels were also temporarily restored.
Many users in India reported on social media that they were unable to access the accounts once again.
According to Indian media, users once again receive a message stating, 'Account not available in India. This is because we complied with a legal request to restrict this content' when accessing Pakistani accounts.
The bans come in the aftermath of the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam, Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), in which 26 people, mostly tourists, were killed. India has accused Pakistan of backing the attackers. Pakistan has vehemently denied Indian accusations.

The initial wave of account bans coincided with this conflict as several Pakistani celebrities including Fahad Mustafa, Hina Altaf and Ushna Shah criticised Indian attack that hit mosques and civilian homes.
India's Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has not issued a formal explanation, but sources told India Today the temporary access was due to a technical error and has now been corrected.
Officials added that roughly 14,000 accounts remain banned and will be reviewed periodically based on compliance with India's digital regulations and national security laws.

Separately, actor Hania Aamir, featured in Sardaar Ji 3 opposite Diljit Dosanjh, recently became the focus of renewed backlash after Indian media questioned her casting amid heightened cross-border tensions. Producers later clarified she was signed before the hostilities began.
In a interview with Haroon Rashid of the BBC Asian Network, Diljit Dosanjh addressed the backlash surrounding the casting of Hania Aamir in Sardaar Ji 3, saying, "When this film was being made, the [political] situation was fine. When we shot this film in February, everything was fine. But a lot of big things are not in our hands".

India's covert terrorism campaign against Pakistan

EDITORIAL: Speaking at a recent event in Islamabad on a range of critical issues, including national security imperatives, Army Chief Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir described India as the region's biggest state sponsor of terrorism. His remarks echo similar observations by the military's media wing, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), which recently accused Indian intelligence agencies of orchestrating attacks inside Pakistan through proxies — namely Baloch insurgent groups and Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) terrorists. The ISPR's assertions, grounded in the security realities, have been supported with material evidence, including communications intercepts and testimonies from arrested militants, exposing their links to India in attacks carried out inside Pakistan. Just this past March, the so-called Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) hijacked the Jaffar Express, en route from Quetta to Peshawar, taking nearly 300 passengers hostage. The incident tragically resulted in the deaths of at least 31 individuals and injuries to many more. In parallel, there has been a noticeable uptick in TTP attacks. Only last Saturday, 13 soldiers embraced martyrdom, and dozens of other people were wounded in a suicide bombing in North Waziristan. While India denies involvement in any of these acts of terrorism, it is worth recalling that the country's National Security Advisor Ajit Doval had, some time ago, publicly articulated his 'offensive defence strategy' — a doctrine that explicitly aims to destabilise Pakistan. A living proof of that policy is a serving Indian naval officer and a RAW operative Kulbhushan Jadhav, arrested in 2016 in Balochistan. His arrest and subsequent confession speak of a broader, covert campaign to foment unrest in Pakistan. Despite this and a lot more evidence, the far-right Hindu nationalist government of Prime Minister Narendra Modi has continued to use such covert networks to undermine Pakistan's internal peace and stability. The cost has been immense — both in terms of human lives lost and infrastructure damaged. Meanwhile, India has intensified efforts to portray Pakistan as a sponsor of cross-border terrorism, particularly in the wake of the April 22 Pahalgam attack in Illegally Indian Occupied Jammu and Kashmir. However, these attempts have largely failed to sway the international community. In a significant diplomatic development, Pakistan was recently elected Vice Chair of the United Nations Counter-Terrorism Committee — a 15-member body of the UN Security Council — and also assumed the Chair of the UNSC Sanctions Committee overseeing sanctions measures against the Afghan Taliban. Further diplomatic vindication came at the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) defence ministers' meeting in Qingdao, China, where member states declined to include the Pahalgam incident in the joint communiqué, but referenced terrorist incidents in Balochistan — much to India's dismay which refused to sign it. It is imperative for the Indian government to realise that managing international perceptions alone will not yield lasting dividends. Genuine peace and stability in South Asia demand resolution of the long-standing disputes, especially the Kashmir issue. Only through dialogue and mutual recognition of concerns can bring durable peace in the region and beyond. Copyright Business Recorder, 2025

PM has played pivotal role in facilitating Iran-Israel ceasefire: Naqvi

ISLAMABAD: In a striking revelation, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi on Thursday claimed that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, in close coordination with the military, played a pivotal role in facilitating the recently announced ceasefire between Iran and Israel – a truce that brought a halt to 12 days of intense war between the two long-time adversaries. Soaking at a presser alongside clerics from multiple religious sects on security arrangements for Muharram, Naqvi remarked, 'Once again, the 'uniform' – our Armed Forces – stood firmly behind the diplomatic breakthrough between Iran and Israel.' Highlighting the military's quiet yet crucial involvement, he said: 'While the prime minister's role was undeniably significant, let me be clear – there was a uniform standing behind him. I won't delve into further details, but the nation should take pride in this achievement.' Turning to simmering tensions with India, Naqvi assured that Pakistan had not incurred any substantial damage during recent exchanges. Recounting a particular incident, he revealed that India had launched approximately 11 missiles targeting a Pakistani military base – none of which struck their intended mark. 'At the time, around nine to 11 fighter jets were parked at that airbase,' he noted. 'But by divine grace, the missiles veered off course, leaving our assets untouched.' Pakistan, he emphasised, refrained from retaliating against civilian targets, instead opting to strike what he described as India's largest oil depot. 'This is a testament to divine intervention,' he added. 'Our intent was never to harm civilians.' Shifting focus to domestic affairs, Naqvi stressed that ensuring peace during the month of Muharram remained the government's foremost priority. He commended religious clerics for fostering inter-sect harmony and called on them to continue their efforts. 'We're deeply grateful for the religious scholars' presence and guidance. Just as the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee includes voices from all schools of thought, promoting unity during Muharram is equally vital. Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) is not the symbol of a single sect – he is a beacon for us all,' he added. Echoing his sentiments, Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry underlined the importance of solidarity in upholding law and order during the sacred month and countering extremist threats. 'Religious scholars across the nation have upheld their responsibilities admirably,' he said. 'Now more than ever, we must stand united – above hatred, sectarianism, and the divisive plots of our enemies. Our security forces are combating terrorism, but this fight must be collective,' he added. Copyright Business Recorder, 2025

Proposed ferry service between Gwadar, Oman: Govt to earn estimated $10–15bn annually: Minister

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan stands to earn an estimated $10–15 billion annually through maritime operations linked to a proposed ferry service between Gwadar and Oman, Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs Muhammad Junaid Anwar Chaudhry said during a high-level meeting with the Ambassador of Oman to Pakistan, Fahad bin Sulaiman bin Khalaf Al Kharusi. The two sides discussed fast-tracking the ferry service launch, sharing marine expertise, and boosting bilateral trade and connectivity in the maritime sector. The minister emphasised that the ferry project could unlock multi-billion-dollar opportunities through expanded trade, investment inflows, tourism, and regional transit revenue. He noted that Pakistan's current exports to Oman via ports stood at approximately $224 million in 2024 and stressed the importance of scaling up this figure through joint initiatives and infrastructure upgrades. The minister also offered education and training opportunities for Omani students at the Pakistan Marine Academy, which is being upgraded to university status, to promote long-term cooperation in maritime education and capacity building. Ambassador Al Kharusi welcomed the proposals and highlighted the deep-rooted cultural, diplomatic, and economic ties between the two nations. He noted the strong presence of Urdu in Oman and lauded the role of the Pakistani diaspora in the Sultanate's development. The ambassador also called for greater business-to-business engagements to boost trade and investment. Minister Chaudhry said the growing partnership reflects a shared vision for regional prosperity, sustainable development, and stronger people-to-people linkages. Copyright Business Recorder, 2025
