Hashemite Charity Organization reaches 1.5 million people in Gaza

Roya News07-04-2025
Jordan continues to bolster its efforts to support the people of Gaza, responding to the catastrophic humanitarian conditions resulting from ongoing aggression in the region.
Under royal directives, the Kingdom is making every effort to provide aid, despite significant challenges due to the closure of borders and the suspension of Jordanian land aid convoys for over a month.
The Jordanian Hashemite Charity Organization (JHCO) implemented alternative solutions to ensure the continuation of humanitarian interventions in partnership with local organizations within Gaza. These efforts are aimed at ensuring that affected families are not abandoned during this critical time.
Recognizing the dire situation faced by civilians in Gaza, the Jordanian government is actively working to open borders and facilitate the delivery of aid through diplomatic channels and engagement with relevant international bodies. The Kingdom acknowledges the urgent need for food, medicine, and basic necessities among the people of Gaza.
In an effort to provide timely assistance during significant occasions, the JHCO executed several humanitarian initiatives during Eid Al-Fitr. These initiatives targeted affected families in Gaza and included the distribution of Eid clothing for children, holiday sweets, cash gifts for kids, and Zakat Al-Fitr for over 4,300 needy families. The organization collaborated with local groups to alleviate burdens and bring joy to the faces of children and families during this festive occasion.
Dr. Hussein Al-Shebli, Secretary-General of the JHCO, stated, "Despite the significant challenges and the halt of convoys, our commitment to our people in Gaza will not stop, as we have been able to reach more than 1,566,144 beneficiaries within the sector." He emphasized the organization's dedication to delivering aid, following the directives of His Majesty King Abdullah II, and reaffirmed Jordan's unwavering support for the Palestinian people.
During the closure of borders, the organization prepared and distributed more than 220,000 food meals and provided clean water and holiday supplies to many families in need.

Global NGOs criticize 'Israel's' restrictions on Gaza aid in open letter

A growing number of foreign aid organizations say they are being prevented from delivering essential supplies to Gaza due to recently enacted 'Israeli' legislation, according to a joint letter published Thursday and signed by over 100 groups, including Oxfam and Doctors Without Borders. The letter highlights that tensions between 'Israel' and foreign-backed NGOs have long existed, with officials often criticizing the organizations for bias. "Israeli authorities have rejected requests from dozens of NGOs to bring in lifesaving goods, citing that these organisations are 'not authorised to deliver aid'," the joint statement reads. The letter notes that at least 60 such requests were denied in July alone. The new law, approved in March, updates the registration requirements for foreign NGOs working with Palestinians and outlines the conditions under which applications can be denied or a group's registration revoked. Authorities may reject registration if a group is deemed to deny 'Israel's' democratic character or "promotes delegitimisation campaigns" against the country. "Unfortunately, many aid organisations serve as a cover for hostile and sometimes violent activity," 'Israel's' Diaspora Minister Amichai Chikli told Agence France-Presse (AFP). "Organizations that have no connection to hostile or violent activity and no ties to the boycott movement will be granted permission to operate," he added. Aid organizations, however, argue that the law is leaving civilians without critical support. "Our mandate is to save lives, but due to the registration restrictions civilians are being left without the food, medicine and protection they urgently need," said Jolien Veldwijk, director of CARE in the Palestinian territories. Veldwijk noted that CARE has been unable to deliver aid to Gaza since 'Israel' imposed a full blockade in March, despite a partial easing in May. 'Israel' has cited concerns over Hamas diverting aid as a reason for the restrictions. Since May, the government has relied on the controversial US-backed Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) to manage food distribution. Meanwhile, Gaza's civil defense agency reports ongoing chaos at distribution centers, with thousands of residents scrambling for supplies each day and some injured by gunfire from the Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF).

Safadi: Netanyahu's Extremist Statements Pose a Serious Threat to International Peace and Security - Jordan News

Safadi: Netanyahu's Extremist Statements Pose a Serious Threat to International Peace and Security Speaker of the House of Representatives Ahmed Al-Safadi said that the recent remarks by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu regarding what he called the illusion of a 'Greater Israel vision' constitute a blatant threat to the sovereignty of states, a flagrant violation of international law, and are part of extremist and aggressive agendas aimed at pushing the region to the brink, posing an unprecedented danger to international peace and security. اضافة اعلان In a statement on behalf of the House of Representatives, Al-Safadi stressed that Netanyahu's statements are merely part of a destructive, inciteful agenda designed to fuel conflict and violence in a time when the peoples of the region need peace, justice, and dignity. He noted that these remarks represent a desperate attempt to deflect from the mounting international outrage over the heinous crimes committed against the people of Gaza, amid growing global awareness of the unprecedented violations taking place and increasing recognition by world states of the State of Palestine—clear indications of the rejection of the hardline extremists' agenda in Israel. The Speaker affirmed that Jordanians stand united behind His Majesty King Abdullah II, a symbol of determination and strength, and behind the brave armed forces and security agencies to protect the nation's interests and defend its land against any malicious extremist schemes. He added that Jordan will always remain the first and most faithful supporter of Palestine, continuing all efforts to stop the massacres and the brutal war in Gaza, and to ensure the Palestinian people attain their full legitimate rights on their national soil—foremost among them, the establishment of an independent Palestinian state on the June 4 borders with Jerusalem as its capital. Al-Safadi called on international parliaments and the global community to assume their historic responsibilities, act immediately to halt Israeli escalation, and make it clear that the continuation of occupation and aggression will only lead to more chaos. He urged international decision-making centers to take strong, clear positions rejecting such statements and to restore matters to their proper course through support for peaceful solutions that safeguard peoples' rights and ensure regional stability. He emphasized that 'peace is not built on threats and aggression,' noting that the hardline extremists in Israel will fail in achieving their radical agenda, which will bring neither security to them nor to the region. He called on the international community to draw the right lessons and take the correct steps in this regard, stressing that Jordan—under its leadership, with its army, and with its great people—will remain at the forefront in defending the rights of the Palestinian people and steadfast in protecting the stability, borders, and sacred soil of the homeland. —(Petra)

Palestinian Authority condemns Netanyahu's 'Greater Israel' vision

The Palestinian Presidency has condemned 'Israeli' Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's statements regarding his so-called "Greater Israel" vision. In a statement, the presidency said the comments are "rejected, condemned, and constitute a dangerous provocation and escalation." It added that the remarks reflect the "colonial expansionist policy" governing 'Israel' and its refusal to respect the sovereignty of nations and international agreements. Yesterday, In an interview with 'Israeli' broadcaster i24NEWS, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated he is on a "historic and spiritual mission" for the Jewish people and feels a strong connection to the "vision of Greater Israel". The interview, conducted on Tuesday, occurred as his government was preparing to expand its military operations into the remaining parts of Gaza. During the exchange, interviewer Sharon Gal, a former right-wing member of Knesset, presented Netanyahu with an amulet showing "Greater Israel". When asked if he felt a connection to the vision, Netanyahu replied, "Very much," and described his mission as one of generations. The concept of "Greater Israel" (Eretz Yisrael HaShlema) refers to the historic or desired borders of 'Israel'. While biblical definitions vary, the term is now commonly used by 'Israelis' to refer to the territory of the 'Israel' along with the West Bank and Gaza Strip. This ideology has been a foundational tenet of Netanyahu's Likud party, which traces its roots to Revisionist Zionism and its founder, Ze'ev Jabotinsky. Netanyahu has consistently opposed the creation of a Palestinian state, a stance he has reiterated publicly. Critics argue that his government's settlement expansion policy is the physical embodiment of the "Greater Israel" vision, creating "facts on the ground" that make a viable Palestinian state impossible.
