Anwar shrugs off Dr M's Batu Puteh dare
When asked by reporters after attending the Finance Ministry's monthly assembly, Anwar responded briefly: "Let it be."
Yesterday, the former prime minister rejected what he described as "immunity" granted to him over the matter, insisting that he be brought to court if any wrongdoing is found.
Dr Mahathir also took aim at Anwar, accusing him of having already "found him guilty", and challenged the government to prove any allegations in court.
Previously, Anwar said the cabinet had decided not to pursue legal action against Dr Mahathir over the Batu Puteh matter, citing his advanced age.

Anwar: ACWA Power investment to boost Malaysia's green energy drive
KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has welcomed Saudi Arabian firm ACWA Power's decision to choose Malaysia as its main hub in Southeast Asia. Anwar, in a post on Facebook, said the global leader in renewable energy and green hydrogen is expected to collaborate with local partners to spearhead major energy projects. "This is another positive development resulting from the close Malaysia-Saudi Arabia cooperation, particularly following my meeting with the founder of ACWA Power during the Asean-GCC Summit (in May). "This investment recognises Malaysia's energy transition policy, creates high-skilled job opportunities, and drives technology transfer," he said. Anwar added that ACWA Power is now forging a strategic partnership with Tenaga Nasional Bhd, UEM Lestra and Terengganu Inc. to develop renewable energy, hydrogen and combined cycle gas turbine (CCGT) projects, in line with the National Energy Transition Roadmap (NETR). This commitment, he said, further strengthens Malaysia's position as a key player in sustainable energy in the region and supports efforts towards a low-carbon economy.

MCMC to probe Muhyiddin's RON95 subsidy denial after PM's directive
KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has directed the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission to probe Pagoh MP Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin's denial of allegations involving RON95 subsidy targeting. The Prime Minister's Office confirmed Anwar's instruction for appropriate action to address the matter. 'The Prime Minister's Office has noted the Pagoh MP's denial regarding defending foreign rights in RON95 subsidy targeting,' the PMO stated. 'As a government committed to transparency, the Prime Minister instructed MCMC to investigate and act accordingly,' the statement added. Anwar previously told the Dewan Rakyat he received reports of an opposition MP defending foreigners' access to subsidy rationalisation. Muhyiddin, a former prime minister, refuted the claim on social media, insisting he never supported foreign rights in RON95 subsidy allocation. He stressed Perikatan Nasional's stance that subsidies must prioritise Malaysian citizens' welfare. – Bernama
