Dua Lipa confirms engagement to Callum Turner as she shares wedding and family plans

Despite the excitement, the couple aren't rushing into wedding plans. Lipa is currently on her Radical Optimism world tour, which will see her play her biggest UK shows to date at London's Wembley Stadium on June 20 and 21, before wrapping up in Mexico this December. Meanwhile, Turner is preparing to begin filming Neuromancer, a new Apple TV+ sci-fi series based on William Gibson's cult 1984 novel.

Sydney Sweeney And Julianne Moore's New Thriller, Echo Valley, Is Out Now – But Is It Worth Watching?

Two of the biggest stars of the moment, Julianne Moore ( Sirens ) and Sydney Sweeney ( Anyone But You ) star opposite each other in the new thriller Echo Valley, directed by Michael Pearce and written by Brad Ingelsby, which is available to stream on Apple TV+. The story follows Kate Garrett (Moore), who works training horses on her southern Pennsylvania farm, when one night her daughter Claire (Sweeney) arrives at her door covered in blood that is not hers, and Kate has to decide what she is willing to do to protect her daughter. The film also stars Domhnall Gleeson, Kyle MacLachlan, and Fiona Shaw. But with a disappointing 50% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, is Echo Valley worth watching? Here's what the critics think. Peter Bradshaw at The Guardian gave the film two stars. 'The film gets mired in some very credulity-stretching stuff about what has to happen when bodies need to be recovered and the twisty finale is overwrought and silly,' he writes. 'The estimable cast all do their utmost but the overall effect is frustratingly implausible.' However, Kevin Maher at The Times called it 'American cinema for adults', awarding Echo Valley four stars. 'It's slightly illogical, yes,' he put, 'but by then we're so invested in the film and so attached to the characters that it hardly matters.' The Financial Times ' Danny Leigh also gave the film four stars. 'I'll take the side of the kind of film that is neither the nth instalment of a franchise, nor fishing for an Oscar, but simply seeks to entertain while also giving you something to chew on,' he reviewed. 'Echo Valley supplies just that.' Elsewhere Gleeson's turn as the film's villain has won praise for his ability to 'successfully create a manipulative monster'. A film fan on X also loved the film writing, 'Went to an early preview screening of #echovalley tonight and I loved it. Julianne and Domnhall are fantastic, and the storyline has so many twists and turns I didn't expect.' Another viewer posted, 'Sydney Sweeney in Echo Valley is magnificent in a visceral role. She displays an emotional intensity that captures the fragility and desperation of her character. Frankly, she is one of the best actresses around these days (though there was never any doubt).' So, despite a poor review from The Guardian and a mixed response (so far) on Rotten Tomatoes, there are plenty of people who have thoroughly enjoyed the film and think the plot is gripping and well-crafted. That means the only way to decide if it's worth watching is to watch it yourself. Echo Valley is available to stream on Apple TV+. Disney+ £1.99 deal is back but with one major upgrade

Disney Plus has relaunched one of our favourite deals of 2024, but this time there's a major change that's good news for telly fans This week saw the return of one of our favourite streaming deals as Disney+ relaunched an unbeatable discount that cuts a subscription to less than £2. It may not be the first time we've seen this deal, but that doesn't make it any less enticing. We covered the same deal in the very first edition of our Top Tech series way back in September, but now it's back and with one major upgrade. New and returning customers can now subscribe to Disney+ Standard with Ads for £1.99. In previous campaigns, those signing up for the deal could lock in the discounted rate for three months, but this time it's been extended to four months of cheaper access. A four-month subscription to the Standard with Ads tier would usually cost a total of £19.96 over four months, but the latest deal reduces this to £7.96 – a £12 saving. This marks a 60% drop from the usual £4.99 monthly price. However, this is a 'limited time promotion' and is set to expire on June 30. At the end of the four-month promotional period, Disney+ Standard with Ads will automatically renew at the then-current monthly retail price until cancelled, which now sits at £4.99. With the deal, Disney+ is now the cheapest platform among the major streamers, beating the cheapest subscription tiers of Netflix (£5.99), Amazon's Prime Video (£5.99) and Apple TV+ (£8.99). Get Disney+ for £1.99 for four months £4.99 £1.99 Disney+ Get Disney+ here Product Description It offers streaming in 1080p Full HD video, up to 5.1 audio and the ability to stream on two devices simultaneously. These are the same features included with Netflix's Standard with Ads tier but for a fraction of the price. Like many of us, the thought of adverts interrupting our favourite titles can be off-putting, but Disney+ actually plays fewer ads than terrestrial TV. It shows on average less than four minutes per hour of TV, while ads will only play before a film starts and not during. There is a way to save even more money on a Disney+ subscription for those who are happy to make a longer-term commitment. Disney+ offers the equivalent of two months free with its annual Standard and Premium plans, which provide 12 months access for the price of 10. This saves up to £25.98, while Premium also includes higher video quality up to 4K UHD and HDR and four concurrent streams. The latest deal comes ahead of a stellar summer slate which includes Marvel's Ironheart (June 25), season four of The Bear (June 26) and new prequel series Alien: Earth (August 13). They're set to join an ever-growing library featuring recent hits and critically acclaimed series, Andor, Welcome to Wrexham, Rivals, Only Murders in the Building and Shōgun, as well as Disney blockbuster Snow White. Disney+ members have been raving about the streamer's library on Trustpilot, with one five-star review hailing its 'fantastic and constantly updated collection'. Another says: 'I love Disney+. I'm a Star Wars and Marvel fan but since the addition of Starz it boosted my love, there's even more content for adults now that's worth it all round.' However, the same member added: 'Only reason it didn't get five stars is Disney are not using their other brands in the subscription. If they did this could easily be the best subscription service ever but there is much more content locked behind their own service.' This happy streamer said: 'Good servers, good services, this nostalgia when watching old cartoons from TV. The subscription is really cheap compared to other streaming services.' While this five-star review said: 'Very good selection, friendly support and easy to cancel if you need to. Very easy to navigate their site and the openess and transparency they show should be a model for others.'

Pop star Dua Lipa confirms engagement to British actor Callum Turner

The Grammy award-winning artist, known for her hit songs New Rules, One Kiss and Houdini, has reportedly been dating the actor since January 2024. The 29-year old singer is currently performing around the world for her Radical Optimism tour, with upcoming performances at London's Wembley Stadium and Madison Square Garden in New York. A post shared by DUA LIPA (@dualipa) Fronting the July issue of British Vogue, she told the magazine: 'Yeah we're engaged. It's very exciting. '(I) never really understood the weight of it. This decision to grow old together, to see a life and just, I don't know, be best friends forever — it's a really special feeling.' Turner, 35, is best known for starring in the hit series Masters Of The Air alongside US actor Austin Butler, as well as playing Frank Churchill in 2020's Emma and Joe Rantz, the american rower, in The Boys In The Boat. The singer added that she is 'obsessed' with the custom ring Turner had made for her and that the couple do not have plans for the wedding yet. She said: 'I want to finish my tour, Callum's shooting, so we're just enjoying this period. I've never been someone who's really thought about a wedding, or dreamed about what kind of bride I would be. All of a sudden, I'm like: 'Oh, what would I wear?'' 'I'd love to have kids one day. But it's like the constant question of when would there ever be a good time — how it would fit in with my job and how it would work if I went on tour, and how much time out I'd have to take. 'I think it's just one of those things that's going to happen when it happens. I love kids, but I think there's so much more to raising a child than just loving children.' A post shared by British Vogue (@britishvogue) Months away from being 30, the singer added that she is the most confident she has ever felt. She said: 'I turn 30 in August and I've been thinking about it a lot, because your 20s are just so tumultuous in the way you think about yourself and your body. And I don't know, now I feel like I've come to a place — I've become better at taking care of myself and working out and dancing. 'I feel the most confident I've ever felt. I feel very empowered and strong in my body. I feel good when I'm sharing my energy with people on stage. 'There's just so much of that that makes me really proud of my body and the way it holds me.' The English-Albanian singer rose to fame with her 2016 hit Be The One followed by her 2017 break-up anthem, New Rules. Since then she has won several Brit Awards and three Grammys and headlined Glastonbury Festival last year shortly after the release of her third studio album Radical Optimism which hit number one on the UK albums chart. Her 2020 Future Nostalgia album also reached number one while her debut self-titled album, Dua Lipa, reached number three. She is the youngest person to feature on this year's Sunday Times 40 Under 40 Rich List, making her one of the wealthiest musicians in the UK. The singer was recently named the most played artist across radio, TV and public places in the UK for a second time by music licensing company Phonographic Performance Limited (PPL). See the full feature in the July issue of British Vogue, available via digital download and on newsstands from June 17.
