Raghav Chadha invited as keynote speaker at Asian Leadership Conference 2025 in Seoul
New Delhi/Seoul [India], May 20 (ANI): Raghav Chadha, MP, has been invited to serve as a distinguished keynote speaker at the prestigious Asian Leadership Conference (ALC) 2025, scheduled to take place on May 21 and 22 in Seoul, South Korea.
The ALC, co-hosted by Chosun Media and the Centre for Asia Leadership, referred to as the 'Davos of the East', is widely recognized as Asia's premier platform for global dialogue. The conference brings together more than 320 global leaders and over 2,500 delegates from politics, business, academia, and civil society to engage in conversations around the most pressing challenges and opportunities facing Asia today.
As a speaker and attendee, Raghav Chadha, who is Aam Aadmi Party MP in Rajya Sabha, joins an illustrious lineup of global figures who have graced this event in the past, a release said.
This list includes names such as former US Presidents Barack Obama and George W. Bush, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, former UK Prime Ministers Boris Johnson and David Cameron, Netflix CEO Reed Hastings, and Blackstone CEO Steve Schwarzman.

The theme for ALC 2025 'The Rise of Nations: Pathways to Great Prosperity' marks a historic moment as Korea commemorates the 80th anniversary of its liberation and the 75th anniversary of the Korean War. The event will explore strategies to build resilience in the face of the poly-crises era, including health, climate, and geopolitical conflict.
At 33, Raghav Chadha was elected as a Member of Parliament, becoming the youngest Rajya Sabha MP in history.
Owing to his personal journey in politics and his merit-driven, early and meteoric rise within national politics at a young age, and his stellar policy credentials, he will be speaking on the theme of 'New Political Vanguard: Young Leaders Reshaping Governance in Asia', a release said. He is excited to share his own vision and blueprint of how the youth can participate in politics, and what governance systems around the globe can do to encourage this.
Raghav Chadha's role in the Delhi Government and its initiatives like Mohalla Clinics had a sizeable and positive impact on primary healthcare accessibility and bolstered health resilience, a model critically proven during the COVID-19 response, the release said.
Furthermore, his efforts in ensuring clean water and sanitation directly addressed health risks, securing public health and safety for all, it added.

Moscow has kept up its attacks on Ukraine, which has hit back with strikes deep inside Russian territory, while peace talks held over the weekend failed to yield a breakthrough towards ending the three-year war. Aside from an agreement to exchange prisoners, progress has stalled and Russia has repeatedly rejected calls for an unconditional ceasefire. 'Russia lies every day about its desire for peace and attacks people every day. Time to impose sanctions. Time to support Ukraine with weapons. Time to prove that democracy has power," Andriy Yermak, head of the Ukrainian presidential office, said on Telegram. A 59-year-old man was killed in the Russian strikes on residential buildings in Odesa on Tuesday, and at least four others were wounded, said Governor Oleg Kiper. 'The enemy massively attacked Odesa with strike drones. There is damage to civilian infrastructure and fires," Kiper wrote on Telegram. 'The Russians hit a maternity hospital, an emergency medical ward and residential buildings," he said, adding the maternity hospital had been evacuated in time. Meanwhile, in the Odesa drone attack, a 59-year-old man was killed and injured four others, Governer Oleg Kiper said on Telegram, as per BBC. Military officials indicated that attacks were continuing and advised residents to take shelter. The comprehensive impact of the assault remained unclear initially. "Enemy drones are simultaneously attacking several districts of the city," stated Timur Tkachenko, Kyiv's military administration chief, via Telegram. "There is damage to residential buildings and fires. Rescuers are working at the sites." In Odesa's southern port, a substantial drone attack struck an emergency medical facility, a maternity ward, and residential structures, according to Oleh Kiper, the regional governor, posting on Telegram. India responds to China's rare earth export curbs: Goyal calls it a ‘wake-up call' for world
Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal has described China's new rare earth export restrictions as a global 'wake-up call,' underlining the need for countries to diversify critical supply chains. Speaking during an official visit to Switzerland on Monday, Goyal highlighted India's efforts to position itself as a dependable partner for international businesses seeking alternatives to Chinese suppliers, reports ANI. China's export restrictions, effective from April 4, mandate special licenses for the export of seven rare earth elements and related magnetic products. With China controlling over 90per cent of global magnet production, the move has raised significant concerns among industries dependent on these materials. Short-Term Challenges for Indian Industry Goyal acknowledged that the new rules would create immediate hurdles for India's automotive and white goods sectors. 'There are clearly issues around the suspension of permanent magnet supplies from China to India, which will particularly affect our auto sector and several white goods manufacturers,' he said. Automotive companies in India have sought the government's assistance to expedite approval processes for importing rare earth magnets, which are vital components in electric vehicles and other technologies. India's Strategy: Diplomatic and Domestic Measures The minister outlined a multi-pronged strategy to mitigate the impact of the export curbs. The Indian embassy in China is actively engaging with authorities to facilitate existing applications, while the commerce ministry is working to identify and secure alternative supply sources globally. Additionally, the government is ramping up efforts to enhance domestic capabilities by strengthening Indian Rare Earths Limited (IREL). 'We are providing all necessary resources to accelerate our own rare earth production,' Goyal stated. 'They are becoming bigger and bolder in their approach,' he remarked, adding that firms are even willing to fund early-stage innovations and support pricing transitions. Encouraging conversations with automotive manufacturers indicate confidence in the ability to address these supply chain disruptions collaboratively, Goyal added. Technological Innovation and Trusted Partnerships India is also banking on technological breakthroughs to reduce its reliance on Chinese rare earths. The minister referenced ongoing research and development initiatives that aim to provide alternative solutions. 'There are some technologies that India is developing,' he said, emphasising that the collaborative ecosystem—comprising government, industry, and innovators—is working cohesively. Turning Crisis Into Opportunity Despite the challenges, Goyal struck an optimistic tone, calling the disruption a strategic opportunity to strengthen India's manufacturing base and global relevance. 'More and more companies and people in India will recognise that it is important to be self-reliant and to have trusted partners in supply chains,' he said. With growing international recognition of India as a reliable supply chain partner, Goyal believes the crisis could catalyse a shift toward greater resilience and global integration for Indian industry.
