Note 15 Pro+ to be the first Redmi device introducing a new connectivity feature
That's because the Redmi Note 15 Pro+ will in fact be the first Redmi device to come with this feature. We're talking about satellite connectivity, which has so far been seen in high-end devices only. Redmi Note 14 Pro+
But the Redmi mid-ranger will bring this feature down in price. It's interesting that Redmi didn't opt to equip its high-end K series devices with satellite connectivity first. Then again, the Note series is definitely its best seller, so perhaps that's why it's getting this first.
By the way, throughout this article we've been talking about the Chinese-market Redmi Note 15 Pro+, if it wasn't obvious. Whether the satellite connectivity feature will make it to the international model when that launches remains to be seen - it's definitely not a given.
The Redmi Note 15 Pro+ will allegedly come with the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 SoC at the helm, a "1.5K" resolution screen with thin, symmetrical bezels on all sides, a 50 MP main camera, a 50 MP telephoto, and a battery between 7,000 mAh and 7,999 mAh.

A compact Android powerhouse? OnePlus Pad Mini leak says yes
The OnePlus Pad Mini, a tablet that OnePlus is working on, is now in the rumor mill. The tablet is said to be a flagship device, and the latest rumor says it may be powered by the mighty Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 2 chip. The device is expected this year, aiming to offer you high-end performance in a smaller body, a more portable alternative to the OnePlus Pad 3. There are not a lot of compact tablets on the market with high-end performance. Luckily for people looking for such a device, it seems OnePlus is working on one. Reportedly, the tablet is going to be called the OnePlus Pad Mini. Now, reputable leaker Digital Chat Station (DCS) has something to say about the upcoming model. According to a post on the Chinese social media website Weibo, OnePlus is working on the OnePlus Pad Mini with a different concept than the OnePlus Pad Lite. The OnePlus Pad Mini will reportedly be designed as a premium device, not like a Lite model. The tablet is currently being tested, according to the leaks, with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 2. Obviously, this is a high-end chip, which is good news for compact powerhouse fans. This means the OnePlus Pad Mini will be able to handle anything you throw at it, including demanding apps, games, and heavy multitasking. The OnePlus Pad 3. | Image Credit - PhoneArena Meanwhile, the OnePlus Pad Mini is expected to rock a smaller screen than the OnePlus Pad 3. The Pad 3 sports a big 13.2-inch, 3.4K resolution display and is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite. We don't know exactly the size of the OnePlus Pad Mini just yet, but we know it will be smaller than the Pad 3. The leak also claims the OnePlus Pad Mini may launch alongside the OnePlus 15T, which is also expected to be on the "smaller" end of smartphones, reportedly rocking a 6.3-inch display. With the OnePlus Pad Mini, OnePlus is targeting users who still want powerful performance but a more portable tablet. Apple is also offering a compact tablet - the iPad Mini - which sports the iPhone 15 Pro's A17 chip, which is also a powerful processor. I value portability a lot. I think that being able to carry a powerful tablet without the bulk makes a big difference in everyday life. If the OnePlus Pad Mini really does come with a top-tier chip like the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Elite, that means we'll finally have a compact Android tablet that can keep up with the big players – and still fit in a small bag. That's exciting.

The bulk of Samsung's Q2 profits come from the Galaxy S25 series, Galaxy A family, and tablets
As predicted a few weeks ago, Samsung's latest quarterly financial report is... not great. The world's top smartphone vendor is obviously not losing money (at least not yet), but its overall profit scores are much humbler than they used to be, and as highlighted earlier this month, there are a lot of different reasons why that is happening all of a sudden. Contrary to previous speculation, though, the Galaxy S25 family doesn't seem to carry much of the blame for the tech giant's profitability woes, and the same goes for the newest additions to the mid-range Galaxy A handset roster and the Galaxy Tab portfolio as a whole. While Samsung takes the time in its full Q2 2025 financial report to praise the "robust" sales results of Galaxy A-series mid-rangers and Galaxy tablets in addition to the Galaxy S25 lineup, that unifying message is essentially cancelled out by a commitment to focus on "flagships" going forward. Well, technically, the company promises to "continue a flagship-first approach for smartphone sales" while at the same time staying committed to "emphasizing the AI functionality of the Galaxy A series" too, but if you read between the lines of that statement, things are really not looking very encouraging for mid-end Samsung handsets in terms of marketing and global distribution. Samsung expects the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7 to help keep profits high in Q3 and Q4 2025. | Image Credit -- PhoneArena It's pretty clear that Samsung aims to put nearly all of its advertising efforts (and money) into making the Galaxy S25 family and those new foldables as successful as possible, relying more than ever on the profit margins of ultra-high-end products. This "flagship-first" strategy might be caused (among others) by Samsung's shrinking Q2 2025 smartphone shipment figures (at least compared to Q1), which didn't stop the company's Mobile eXperience (MX) and Networks division from surging in terms of both consolidated revenue and operating profit compared to Q2 2024. The KRW 3.1 trillion ($2.2 billion) profit score generated by Samsung's mobile business during this year's second quarter is made that much more impressive by the KRW 4.7 trillion ($3.46 billion) gain of the company as a whole. Simply put, around 65 percent of Samsung's entire Q2 2025 profit came from smartphones and tablets alone, which is both remarkable... and highly concerning for a company that used to make so much money from memory chips not that long ago. Because the struggling Device Solutions (aka memory chip) division is not expected to spectacularly recover anytime soon, Samsung is looking for new ways to make money in the short run and set its businesses up for long-term success. To that (latter) end, the company is today ready to officially announce that tri-fold handset we've all been expecting for a while now is finally coming (to presumably select markets around the world) by the end of the year. Samsung's Huawei Mate XT rival continues to be wrapped in mystery, but it is real and coming (relatively) soon. | Image Credit -- PhoneArena Unfortunately (although not unexpectedly), Samsung isn't confirming anything else about the potentially groundbreaking "Galaxy G Fold" device, which obviously means that name is not etched in stone yet, and neither are any of the specs, features, or capabilities rumored over the last few months. Extended reality (XR) is another market segment Samsung plans to enter at some point in H2 2025 with a "new form-factor" product. That's also (technically) shrouded in secrecy despite a lot of juicy gossip floating around the interwebs for the past year or so. No other future mobile devices are mentioned or teased in the company's latest financial report, which probably means the Galaxy S26 family is (unsurprisingly) not going to be released in 2025.
