Three Terror Associates Linked To Pakistan Arrested In J&K's Handwara
Last Updated: Security forces launched a joint operation in Qalamabad based on specific intelligence and arrested three terrorist associates linked to handlers based in Pakistan. The Jammu and Kashmir police, the Indian Army and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) carried out a joint cordon-and-search operation in Handwara, Kupwara district, and apprehended three terror associates. According to an official statement, the security forces launched a joint operation in the Wajihama area of Qalamabad based on specific intelligence and arrested three terrorist associates linked to handlers based in Pakistan. The three arrested individuals were identified as Mohd. Iqbal Pandith, 23, Sajad Ahmad Shah, 26, and Ishfaq Ahmad Malik, 22. The security forces also recovered arms, ammunition and incriminating material from the possession of the terror associates. A case FIR No. 30/2025 under Sections 7/25 IA Act, 13, 18, 23 UAPA has been registered at PS Qalamabad. Further investigation is underway to identify and arrest the other associates of this network, as per the statement. This came after an Indian Army soldier was killed in an exchange of fire as the forces foiled an infiltration bid along the Line of Control (LoC) in the Uri sector of Jammu and Kashmir, officials said on Wednesday. The infiltration bid was foiled in the Churunda area of Uri in the Baramulla district of north Kashmir. An exchange of fire took place between the troops and the terrorists in which Hawaldar Ankit was killed in action, they said. The attempts to infiltrate the LoC were made amid the ongoing Indian Army operation — Op Akhal — in the forest areas in south Kashmir's district. The operation kicked off on August 1 and is still continuing. Two soldiers were killed in action, while five terrorists were taken down in the operation. Meanwhile, a Pakistani intruder attempting to cross into Indian territory was shot at by the Border Security Force (BSF) on Monday along the International Border in Jammu and Kashmir's Kathua district. view comments First Published: Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's. Thief Returns Gold Chain After 9 Days With Sorry Note: ‘Feld Bad Sensations'
Last Updated: A few days after the theft, just as the couple prepared to leave for Poinachi, they noticed the stolen chain and letter neatly put on their verandah. Theft, whether personal or financial, can have a profound and lasting emotional impact on victims. Beyond the immediate financial loss, individuals may experience a range of negative emotions, including anxiety, fear, anger, shame, a sense of violation and can affect their mental health. But for this Kerala woman, it was no less than a miracle when the thief returned her gold pendant along with an apology letter, nine days after stealing it. Thief Returns Gold Chain To Woman According to Onmanorama, M Geetha of Paramba Lakshmi Nivas in Poinachi, lodged a complaint at the Melparamba police station after her nuptial pendant was stolen while travelling in a bus with her husband. The officials then circulated details of the missing chain in local WhatsApp groups. However, a few days after the theft, just as the couple prepared to leave for Poinachi, they noticed the stolen chain and letter neatly put on their verandah. The note from the thief read, 'It has been nine days since this chain came into my possession. At first, I was pleased. But any time I held it, I felt a bad sensation, a slight shiver. I thought long and hard about what to do with it. Then I noticed a WhatsApp message saying it was nuptial jewellery. I decided that I did not want anyone else to suffer loss. I do not want to reveal my identity. Sorry for keeping it for so long and causing you pain." The letter had the name of a nearby town, Kundamkuzhi, written below. This is not the only case where the thief's change of heart grabbed the viewer's attention. Recently, a bizarre twist has emerged in a high-profile theft case involving luxury watches allegedly worth 6 lakh Euros (around Rs 6.13 crore). According to Wanted in Milan, less than 24 hours after an American visitor was robbed at a five-star hotel in Milan, the stolen items were mysteriously returned, along with a handwritten note from the burglar stating the watches were fake. As per the police report, the thief snatched the man's Tom Ford backpack, which contained four Richard Mille watches—each reportedly valued at 1.5 lakh Euros, along with a wallet, cash in both euros and dollars, credit cards and a pair of Apple AirPods. view comments Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's.
