Development of the new facility at Ysgol Gymraeg Dewi Sant, on Rhuddlan Road, has been paused due to connectivity issues regarding the surface water drainage system in the area.

In March, the council said that work on modernising the hall wing at Ysgol Gymraeg Dewi Sant in Rhyl was progressing well.
Outside the hall wing, the school's grounds will also be upgraded to improve access for users with a disability.
Other large-scale council projects include the Queen's Market on Rhyl promenade, and coastal defence improvements in both Rhyl and Prestatyn.

Bees Knees Day Nursery, on Albert Street, was one of 20 to have received an award from day nurseries reviews site, This award is based on the nursery's reviews from the children's families and carers. The nurseries were rated on overall standard, facilities and outside space, learning, resources and equipment and ICT, care, activities, staff, food and nutrition, management, cleanliness, safeguarding, and value for money. Last week, the Journal reported that another nursery in Rhyl, Summerhouse Out of School Club, was also named among the top 20. Amanda Hopkins, reviews manager of said: 'We would like to congratulate Bees Knees Day Nursery on being rated by parents as a top nursery in Wales! 'It is a huge achievement to be rated so highly by the families and carers of children that attend the setting. 'Our award is valuable recognition from parents and carers that this nursery is giving their children an excellent standard of care and a nurturing environment. 'A good early years education can really help boost a child's development and hopefully create in them a lifelong love of learning. 'We hope these awards give parents that much needed guidance in choosing the right nursery for their child.' Lorraine Chambers, manager of Bees Knees Day Nursery, said: 'We're honoured to have been awarded the Top 20 Nursery Award again this year. 'This award is extra special to us as it's based on reviews from our children's parents, grandparents and carers. It means the world to us! 'Thank you to all our parents for your continued support, and to our dedicated early years staff who work so hard to ensure the children get the best possible start in life. 'We're so proud of all our little ones who are like family, and we have so much fun together every day.'
