Carol Banawa finishes master's degree in nursing in US
Carol Banawa just marked another milestone in her life!
The Filipina singer recently earned her Master of Science in Nursing – Family Nurse Practitioner degree from Saint Joseph's College of Maine in the United States.
On Instagram, Carol shared the good news and also looked back on her journey in the medical field.
'It's hard to put into words what this moment means to me,' she wrote.
According to the 'Iingatan Ka' singer, her nursing journey began as a Certified Nurse Aide in Arizona in 2005. She then earned her Licensed Practical Nurse Certificate in 2010.
She continued her nursing path in Virginia where she completed her Associate Degree in Nursing in 2018 and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2020.
'When I began my master's degree, the world was shutting down. The pandemic had just begun, and I was pregnant with Bella,' Carol detailed, adding that balancing, pregnancy, parenthood, and school during the pandemic was "far from easy."
She also had to endure sleepless nights, study sessions, missed gatherings, exhaustion, and moments where she doubted herself and made her wonder if she could continue.
'But the dream was stronger—and I just kept going,' Carol said.
She then thanked her support system which includes her husband Ryan, their children Chels, River, and Bella, her mom Celine, her Ate Cherry, her friends and most especially God, who helped her achieve her dreams.
Carol also left some words to ponder for her fellow dreamers.
'To anyone who is on a long, hard road—keep going. One step at a time. Dreams take time, sacrifice, and faith. But they are worth it. To God be the Glory!' she said.
Carol was already a renowned singer in the Philippines before migrating to the U.S. in 2003, where she is now based with her husband Ryan Crisostomo and their two children.
She is best known as the voice behind "Tanging Yaman," "Bakit Di Totohanin," and "Iingatan Ka."
During the pandemic, Carol served as a frontliner nurse in the US.
Congratulations, Carol!
