Luis Diaz ‘talking to clubs' as speculation surrounds Liverpool future
The Colombia international has two years left on his current deal and this week the Reds rebuffed an approach from Barcelona, who are long-time admirers, insisting the player was not for sale.
However, it is understood there are currently no plans to open negotiations about an extension for Diaz, who turned 28 in January.
'We are currently in contact with Liverpool, because we are talking to clubs, and that's normal given the transfer market that's opening. We're trying to arrange what's best for us,' he told a press conference before Colombia's World Cup qualifier at home to Peru.
'We're talking to clubs, it's normal in the market and we're looking at what's best for us.
'I'm waiting to see what happens. I'm very happy at Liverpool, I've always said so. They've welcomed me very well from day one.
'If they give us a good renewal or I stay there for two years, I'll be happy. Now it's up to them.'
Off the field the LFC Foundation and former players association Forever Reds have donated £50,000 to the Liverpool Spirit Appeal, which is raising money to support those directly affected by the incident which left a number of people injured following the club's victory parade in the city last week.
Proceeds raised from the recent LFC Foundation Gala Ball have helped double the total of the fund, set up by the Community Foundation for Merseyside in partnership with Liverpool City Council, to over £100,000.

Tottenham have identified Frank as the man they want and the Dane appears equally as interesting in filling the vacancy. He's seen his stock rise throughout his time at Brentford and may feel the time is right to pursue a new challenge in the capital. Pochettino meanwhile has just seen his American side beaten 2-1 by Turkey in Connecticut. It was the team's third successive defeat which leaves the Argentine with five wins and four losses from nine matches in charge. The United States will host the World Cup for the first time since 1994 next summer. The Argentine, who was sacked by Tottenham just months after leading them to the Champions League final, has since held jobs at PSG and Chelsea.

Mauricio Pochettino rules himself out of contention for Tottenham job
Spurs are seeking a new head coach having sacked Postecoglou just 16 days after leading the club to Europa League glory, their first trophy in 17 years. United States boss Pochettino ended a five-year stay at Tottenham in November 2019, having helped Spurs reach the final of the Champions League that year. The Argentinian signed a two-year contract to become US head coach last September and is expected to lead the team into next year's home World Cup.
