Luis Diaz makes feelings clear on Liverpool future amid Saudi transfer links
Luis Diaz stands at a crossroads after winning the Premier League with Liverpool as Al-Nassr and Barcelona plan to tempt him to leave the Reds in the summer transfer window Luis Diaz has reaffirmed his happiness at Liverpool after he was linked with a transfer to Saudi Arabia. Diaz is facing an important stage in his career this summer, with two years left to run on his current Liverpool contract and plenty of other clubs interested. The Colombia international contributed 17 goals and eight assists in 50 appearances across all competitions to help Liverpool end the 2024/25 campaign with the Premier League trophy. However, his long-term future on Merseyside is somewhat uncertain amid interest from Barcelona and Saudi side Al-Nassr. Barca sporting director Deco has publicly admitted the club admires Diaz, while his father has previously said it would be a 'dream' for his son to join the Catalan giants. Meanwhile, Al-Nassr are also reportedly keeping an eye on Diaz, who could end up replacing Cristiano Ronaldo as the club's star player. The 28-year-old winger has now moved to pour cold water on these rumours. 'I feel I'm going through a really good period,' he told the club website. 'I'm really happy to be here, to be part of this great institution, this great club and to have great team-mates around me. 'From the moment I arrived, I felt great pride. I always tried to work hard for this, and to see that nowadays things are working out for me fills me with pride and I'm really happy because that's what I work for. '[But] we are nobodies without our team-mates. We are a team. The forwards and wingers always try to help with goals and assists, and right now I've achieved good numbers to back that up. It's about playing and then playing well, supporting the team in the way I play and enjoying it, like always.' Liverpool recently handed out new contracts to Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah but are plotting major changes in the summer transfer window. Jeremie Frimpong has already arrived in a £29.5million move to replace Trent Alexander-Arnold, while talks continue over a big-money move for his ex-Bayer Leverkusen team-mate Florian Wirtz. HAVE YOUR SAY! Should Liverpool sell Luis Diaz? Comment below. The Reds have funds available after making just one signing last summer, but there could still be some major departures to cover the expenditure. Darwin Nunez, Harvey Elliott, Caoimhin Kelleher and Andy Robertson are all possibilities, but there is also a decision to be made over Diaz, who will still fetch a decent transfer fee now, but will see his value decrease over time, unless he signs a new contract. 'We will be talking, the talk about it (his future) will happen,' he said recently. 'For me, I'd stay for as long as possible. It also depends on the club, it all depends on the details. They're all details that are sorted out separately. But I am very calm, very happy and I am enjoying the Premier League.'

Diaz in line for Liverpool reunion as Al-Nassr make final Ronaldo decision
Luis Diaz has a decision to make over his future with Liverpool and there could potentially be interest from Saudi Arabia in a move that will see him link up with a former Reds star Al-Nassr have not dropped their interest in Liverpool star Luis Diaz, with the Colombian earmarked for a future move. The winger has long been linked with a switch to Saudi Arabia and they continue to be monitoring developments over his future. Diaz, 28, has just two years remaining on his contract at Anfield meaning Liverpool are running out of time to earn a considerable fee for his services should they choose to sell. While they are keen to keep him, no conversations over a renewed deal have taken place as of yet - something Al-Nassr could yet take advantage of . According to The Telegraph, Saudi chiefs remain interested in him and would like to make a move regardless of if Cristiano Ronaldo leaves the club. The Portuguese superstar is out of contract this summer, albeit there is hope that he will extend his stay. Taking to Instagram recently, the former Manchester United star wrote: 'This chapter is over. The story? Still being written. Grateful to all.' Meanwhile, Diaz would also become teammates with former Liverpool star Sadio Mane once again, the pair having shared the dressing room for six months at Anfield. Diaz has already given an insight into his mindset ahead of the summer transfer window. He said: "I'm really happy and I have been like this since the first day I arrived. I've always been very calm and I have really just been enjoying the football played by this great team, being a part of this. 'We will be talking, the talk about it (his future) will happen. For me, I'd stay for as long as possible. It also depends on the club, it all depends on the details. They're all details that are sorted out separately. But I am very calm, very happy and I am enjoying the Premier League." Away from Al-Nassr, Spanish giants Barcelona remain interested in Diaz, with the wideman's Dad admitting a move to the Camp Nou would be a 'dream'. He said: 'It is true that Luis is a loyal Barcelona supporter and that it would be his dream if he arrived at Barcelona. But, until this moment, thank Porto and Liverpool for the welcome with Luis and the way they received him. 'He is a player who has an easy time earning things because of his way of being, his humility, his work. He gives himself, he is a very disciplined player – thank God. 'If there are chances for Lucho to arrive at Barcelona, he would have no problem. Because it is an elite team and is among the first in the world.' 'They're targeting immigrants.' U.S. Supreme Court allows Trump to strip temporary legal statuses???
The U.S Supreme Court sides with President Trump allowing protections for immigrants put in by the Biden Administration to end. This means even more people could face deportation including the thousands of Floridians here under Temporary Protected Status known as TPS. The Biden Administration granted immigrants from Venezuela, Haiti, Cuba, and Nicaragua legal status, called humanitarian parole, for two years so they could escape instability in their countries. The Supreme Court ruled that the Trump Administration can do away with that program. William Diaz with Casa de Venezuela says immigrants work in four big industries in the U.S. Medical, hospitality, construction, and agriculture. He says those industries will be affected. This means even more people could face deportation, including the thousands of Floridians here under Temporary Protected Status, known as TPS. Diaz explains what the protections meant and what stripping them will mean. 'The humanitarian parole allowed those relatives dad, mom, kids, to come to see relatives in the United States. That's the importance of this program,' said Diaz. It's not clear when these deportations would start. 'Imagine people from Ukraine to go back to Ukraine when you have a dictator in Russia bombing Ukraine, where people can go to Venezuela where you have a regime taking and putting people in jail, like they did last week,' said Diaz. On Saturday, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., Casa de Venezuela and other organizations will hold a rally at First Baptist Orlando. Immigration attorneys and other resources will help immigrants determine their next steps. Click here to download our free news, weather and smart TV apps. Reds Cut Ties with All-Star Closer
Reds Cut Ties with All-Star Closer originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Alexis Diaz was underwater from the first drill in spring training in Goodyear, Arizona. He was traded to the Los Angeles Dodgers on Thursday for Advertisement Diaz strained his left hamstring in pitcher's fielding practice or PFP. He slipped coming off the mound. The Reds held the 2023 All-Star out for a while. He didn't pitch in Cactus League games well enough and caused concern. He was scheduled to pitch in the final game before leaving Goodyear but was scratched. The Reds wanted him to work to correct his mechanics and permanently vanquish the effect of the injury before entrusting Diaz to hold a lead when the season began. 'We scratched him and we visited with him, DJ (pitching coach Derek Johnson, Franky (Mulloy, manager, biomechanics), Simone (Bannaccorso, strength and conditioning Daytona). What happened was he had the hamstring issue earlier. His lead leg is not where it needs to be. He's got some moving parts,' Reds' manager Terry Francona said. 'There's multiple concerns. We're sending him out there. He's either going to get hurt or pitch the way he needs to. It's just not fair. We're going to give him a chance to get right.' Advertisement The Reds placed him on the 15-day disabled list in March retroactive to March 24. He was reinstated on April 15. Diaz pitched in six games, the last being the first game of a double header with the Cardinals on April, 30. He entered the game in the top of the ninth with the Reds trailing, 1-0. He gave up a three-run home run to Victor Scott II. The Cardinals made it three home runs in succession with Lars Nootbaar and Masyn Winn doing the honors. The Reds optioned Diaz to Louisville after the second game. 'We told him that we're not giving up on him,' Francona said. Luis Mey was promoted and showed promise but the Reds optioned him to Louisville on Thursday. Emilio Pagan took over the closers role and has saved 13 games in 15 tries and is sixth in MLB. Advertisement It was not just this spring challenge for Diaz. His numbers were progressively worse year-by-year. The ERA was 1.85 in his rookie year 2022, 3.07 in 2023, 3.99 last season and 12.00 this season. His WHIP has gone up each year. Walks per nine innings were higher each year and his strikeouts lower. Diaz pitched a scoreless inning for Louisville on Wednesday to drop his ERA to drop his ERA to 4.61. He is 1-2 with two saves. He walked 12, hit two batters and struck out 16 in 13 ⅔ innings. Diaz was a 12th round pick in 2015. The Reds obtained 22-year old RHP, Mike Villani. Villani made his professional debut with the Rookie-ACL Dodgers earlier this week, logging 2 perfect relief appearances. He was originally selected by the Dodgers in the 13th round of the 2024 first-year player draft from Long Beach State University (CA), the same school that produced current Reds farmhands Connor Burns and Graham Osman (both at A-Dayton). Advertisement As a senior at Long Beach State University in 2024, Villani tied for the Big West League lead with 10 saves, tied for 12th-most among all NCAA Division I pitchers. He was the first LBSU player selected by the Dodgers since 2016. This story was originally reported by Athlon Sports on May 30, 2025, where it first appeared.

Liverpool forward has offer to REPLACE Cristiano Ronaldo
Cristiano Ronaldo sent the transfer rumour mill into overdrive earlier this week. The 40-year-old Portugal legend looks set to call time on his spell at Al-Nassr in Saudi Arabia. Ronaldo declared the chapter over - and it appears he is now set to join Al-Hilal in time for the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup. His exit leaves a vacancy for a big-name player in the Al-Nassr attack alongside Liverpool legend Sadio Mane. Advertisement And the man who effectively replaced Mane at Anfield is reportedly in line to succeed Ronaldo as No7 at Al-Nassr. Luis Diaz, 28, has been earmarked for a sale this summer amid doubts over his long-term future. The Colombian has got a contract which expires in 2027 and is demanding a hefty pay rise to renew. Luis Diaz at risk So far Richard Hughes appears reluctant to meet the former Porto player's demands - meaning he could be sold this summer to avoid losing him for a vastly diminished sum when his contract ticks down further. Although Diaz has enjoyed a productive season - 13 Premier League goals as the Reds claimed the title - he is not seen as a long-term solution at centre-forward or on the left wing. Advertisement Arne Slot utilised Diaz up top in the absence of another reliable option - while Cody Gakpo would appear to be his head coach's preference on the left. Accordingly, should the right bid materialise then Diaz could be on his way. © IMAGO - Arne Slot Luis Diaz Liverpool 2024-25 'Genuine interest' from Al-Nassr in Diaz Barcelona have been linked but will find meeting Liverpool's asking price a challenge - with the Reds thought to be holding out for around €80m. Therefore the presence of Al-Nassr in the bidding could be a useful cash boost for Richard Hughes as he sets about re-organising Liverpool's attack. 'Liverpool forward Luis Díaz has been added to the list of potential signings at Al-Nassr, who are monitoring his contract situation at Anfield,' a report in the Telegraph reveals. Advertisement 'Barcelona have been heavily linked with Díaz but it is understood there is genuine interest from Al-Nassr as they look to mount a Saudi Pro League title challenge after finishing second this season.' Diaz has played for Liverpool since 2022 - winning plenty of domestic honours - and enjoyed his best season to date in 2024/25.
