B1 - Oregon State 1, Florida State 0
The Beavers need one more win to head to Omaha for the College World Series, and they have gotten off to a good start to get that done. Oregon State scored a run in the top of the first inning on a single by Wilson Weber.
That's not a good sign for the Seminoles. They need to respond immediately.
Oregon State won in dramatic, comeback, walk-off fashion in Game 1, and if they win today, it's headed to Omaha. Game 2 is next at 9 p.m. ET on ESPN2
B4 - UCLA 3, UTSA 2
UTSA jumped out on top of this game with a pair of single runs in the first and second innings, but the host Bruins have responded with three straight runs to take the lead.
UCLA got two runs in the third and added a third in the fourth to grad the lead.
Sunday will feature at least two Game 3, and the game times/TV for those matchups have been set: Arizona at North Carolina, Noon (ESPN2)
Miami at Louisville, Noon (ESPN) Imagn Images
This wasn't a must-win for Arkansas ... but it was very, very important for the Razorbacks to win the opener of the Fayetteville Super Regional (beating Tennessee 4-3). Tennessee will have ace Liam Doyle on the mound tomorrow — giving the Vols the advantage in Game 2 — but the Hogs would figure to have the edge if this series gets to a third game. Tennessee lost Game 3 in six of its final seven SEC series.
Former Tennessee football coach Lane Kiffin ...
UTSA pulled off one of the many big upsets last week, beating No. 2 Texas twice, and they'll have to win on the road again against the Bruins. They're up at 7 p.m. ET on ESPNU.
T6 - Arkansas 3, Tennessee 2
This game is giving us exactly what we were looking and hoping for. These are two talented and dynamic teams, and they're showing that off here in Game 1.
Arkansas matches Tennessee's two-run home run with one of its own: from Ryder Helfrick.
Arkansas ace Zach Root finally has yielded his first hit of the game to Tennessee — and he trails in the top of the fifth. Dean Curley's shot to left-center field on a 3-2 breaking ball followed up an error by Arkansas first baseman Reese Robinett to give the Vols a base runner. It's 2-1 Tennessee in a game that has seen Arkansas foiled on several scoring opportunities.
UCLA is back in the national spotlight after missing the NCAA Tournament the previous two seasons. John Savage's team shared the Big Ten title with Oregon and cruised through the Los Angeles Regional last week with relative ease.
The Bruins host the upstart UTSA Roadrunners, who waltzed into Disch-Falk Stadium last weekend and beat Texas, the No. 2 overall seed, twice. This is a balanced team that led the AAC in most of the key offensive statistics and ranked third in ERA.
The player to watch in this series is UCLA shortstop Roch Cholowsky, who is hitting .370 with 23 home runs and 72 RBIs. Cholowsky was also a three-star quarterback recruit coming out of Hamilton High in Chandler, Ariz.
This pick is part a belief in UTSA and part an unwillingness to pick all favorites: UTSA in 3 Imagn Images
Tennessee is flirting with disaster but trails Arkansas by just one run, 1-0, through four innings. The Razorbacks have had eight baserunners (six hits, one walk, one hit by pitch) but have hit into two double plays, and they scored their only run on a wild pitch.
Coastal Carolina, which leads the nation with 53 wins, has earned the first spot into Omaha for the College World Series. The Chanticleers swept Auburn, winning 4-1 today, to head back to Omaha.
Remember, this program won it all in 2016, so don't ever doubt Coastal Carolina, which was wildly underseeded for this tournament. Imagn Images
Tony Vitello is a bit late for his in-game interview with the ESPN crew in the top of the fourth. When it wraps up he says: 'Sorry for the delay. I have a small bladder.' Imagn Images
The LSU Tigers beat West Virginia 16-9 in the first game of their series. Game 2 will be played at 6 p.m. on Sunday and will be broadcast by ESPN2.
The Tigers and Mountaineers combined for seven home runs today, including five by LSU. Imagn Images
B8 - Coastal Carolina 3, Auburn 1
Coastal is three outs away from clinching the first berth in this year's College World Series. The Chanticleers scored three in the seventh to take the lead, and they're batting now in the eighth, trying to pad their lead.
Then, they'll look to shut the door on the Tigers and their season in the ninth.
Arkansas' Cam Kozeal with terrific instincts and hustle to steal the first run of the game against Tennessee, on a Marcus Phillips pitch that just got away from catcher Stone Lawless. By the time Lawless gathered the ball and started turning back toward home, Kozeal was sliding. That's as close as Vanderbilt will get to bragging rights on Tennessee this weekend (Kozeal was a Commodores freshman last season).
B7 - Coastal Carolina 2, Auburn 1
The Chanticleers keep their inning going and have the lead with an unearned run on an error. The Tigers are going back to the bullpen to try to limit the damage.
T2 - Tennessee 0, Arkansas 0
No score yet early in the hotly-anticipated matchup between defending national champion Tennessee and powerhouse SEC rival Arkansas. Both starters, the Volunteers' Marcus Phillips and the Razorbacks' Zach Root, handled business in the first inning.
B7 - Auburn 1, Coastal Carolina 1
Coastal Carolina has broken through! Walker Mitchell's RBI single plates Sebastian Alexander and we're tied late with the Chanticleers a win away from the Men's College World Series.

Thunder strike back as Shai Gilgeous-Alexander dominates Game 2 to even NBA Finals against Pacers

The Oklahoma City Thunder didn't blow a lead to the Indiana Pacers this time, as they evened up the series at one apiece after a strong Game 2 win, 123-107. Last game, it was Tyrese Haliburton showcasing another bit of heroics with a last-second shot to win it for Indiana on the road in Game 1. But Haliburton, or any of his teammates, could get back into this game as Shai Gilgeous-Alexander & Co. ran up the score and kept it that way. The league's MVP had the right answer for the Pacers' wild come-from-behind victory in Game 1, going 11-of-21 from the floor and 11-of-12 from the charity stripe for a 34-point night to lead the game in that category. Gilgeous-Alexander also tallied eight assists, five rebounds, four steals and one block as he truly did it all on the court. The deep Thunder bench also provided some much-needed offense, as Alex Caruso had the hot hand from three-point range, hitting four of his eight attempts on his way to a 20-point night. Aaron Wiggins also added 18 points on an efficient 6-of-11 shooting with four rebounds to mark as well. In the starting five, Jalen Williams (19 points, five rebounds, five assists) and Chet Holmgren (15 points, six rebounds, one assist) also aided in the victory. Meanwhile, the Pacers struggled shooting from deep in this game, going 14-of-40 as a team (35%), which ultimately led to Oklahoma City pulling away in this one. Every Indiana starter had double-digit points, as the ball was spread around as it usually is in their offensive zone. Haliburton went 7-of-13 from the field for 17 points, but he was just 3-of-8 from beyond the arc. Myles Turner (16 points), Pascal Siakam (15 points, seven rebounds) and Andrew Nembhard (11 points) went a combined 3-of-13 from three-point territory, which has been uncharacteristic of them in these NBA Playoffs. The Thunder's largest lead in this game was 23, while the Pacers only led by three points during the contest. Of course, Indiana led by just 0.3 seconds last game after Haliburton's mid-range jumper rattled home. But on their home court, this is what many expected as the series heads back to Indiana on Wednesday at 8:30 p.m. tip-off. Red Sox hit 5 home runs and overcome 2 by Judge in 11-7 win over Yankees

NEW YORK — Carlos Narváez put Boston ahead with a three-run homer against his former team, and the Red Sox overcame two home runs by Aaron Judge in an 11-7 victory over the New York Yankees on Sunday night. Rafael Devers also went deep as Boston equaled a season high with five longballs to take two of three games at Yankee Stadium in the first series this season between the longtime rivals. Narváez signed with the Yankees in 2015 and broke into the big leagues with them last year, getting into six games before New York traded him to Boston in December. The rookie catcher gave the Red Sox a 5-3 lead in the sixth inning by lifting a fastball from Carlos Rodón (8-4) into the left-field seats. Judge hit a pair of two-run homers for his fourth multihomer game this season and the 43rd of his career. He connected in the first off rookie Hunter Dobbins (3-1) and again in the ninth, ending the night with a .396 batting average. Boston rookie Kristian Campbell hit a two-run homer to the short porch in right field off Rodón in the fifth. Abraham Toro and Trevor Story hit back-to-back solo shots in the eighth off Jonathan Loáisiga. Jarren Duran had a two-run single off Yankees reliever Tim Hill in the sixth. Toro added an RBI double in the ninth. Dobbins allowed three runs and four hits in five innings. A day after telling the Boston Herald, 'If the Yankees were the last team to give me a contract, I'd retire,' Dobbins heard little reaction from the crowd of 45,140. DJ LeMahieu homered in the fifth to give New York a 3-2 lead. Rodón permitted five runs and three hits in five-plus innings. The left-hander lost for the first time in eight decisions since April 13. Garrett Whitlock retired LeMahieu on a bases-loaded grounder to end the sixth after the Yankees had cut it to 7-5. … Aroldis Chapman, the seventh Boston reliever, fanned Anthony Volpe with two on for his 11th save. Boston scored 27 runs in the series, its most in a three-game set at Yankee Stadium since 2005. … Loáisiga has allowed four homers in nine appearances since returning from elbow surgery. Red Sox RHP Brayan Bello (2-1, 3.91 ERA) opens a three-game series in Boston against Tampa Bay RHP Shane Baz (5-3, 4.96) on Monday night. Yankees LHP Max Fried (8-1, 1.78 ERA) opposes rookie LHP Noah Cameron (2-1, 0.85) in the opener of a three-game series Tuesday at Kansas City. ___ More AP baseball:

Caitlin Clark Praised for Behavior Before Fever-Sky Rematch

Caitlin Clark Praised for Behavior Before Fever-Sky Rematch originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Saturday night could be a critical time for the Indiana Fever, not only because theyb have a chance to move back to .500 with a win over the Chicago Sky, but because they could be looking at their last game played without Caitlin Clark, as she recovers from a quad injury suffered against the Liberty on May 24. Advertisement After the injury was announced, the Fever said Clark would be re-evaluated in two weeks, and it's now been two weeks. Indiana plays next on Tuesday in Atlanta, and it is possible that Clark will be back on the floor for that one. Clark was not committing to playing on Tuesday, as she noted on Thursday. "I'll miss this weekend's game, but after that, it's day-by-day and see how I feel, and just turn to the medical staff and what they think," Clark said. "I feel like I've made a lot of progress and I feel good, and I'm not going to rush coming back. It's just not worth it. But after this weekend, I'll be reevaluated and we'll have a better idea of when I'll return." Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark (22) signs autographs before a WNBA game against the Chicago Sky at United Center. Mandatory Credit: Kamil Krzaczynski-Imagn Images Still, she was on hand for the Fever's game in Chicago, which had been moved to the NBA's United Center in anticipation of a record crowd--before Clark's injury. And as a stream of Fever fans approached her, Clark (as well as fellow injured guard Sophie Cunningham) spent the better part of an hour signing autographs for fans and taking pictures. Fans heaped praise on Clark. Advertisement "People's choice as always. Unreal aura," one fan wrote. "Look at all those fans and she's trying her hardest to give all of them a little attention," another added. Another wrote, "CC is one of the nicest people. Always supports her fans." "And this is why @CaitlinClark22 is so loved," another commented. The W is lucky ot have her, one added: "She's carrying the entire league, in every city on her back. The WNBA was given an unbelievable gift." Don't forget Cunningham, of course, as the Indy Star's Chloe Peterson pointed out. Even with two of their best players sidelined with injury and even with coach Stephanie White out for personal reasons, the Fever held a 41-28 lead at halftime.
