Nothing partners up with KEF for multiple audio products coming this year

Nothing Android
Today, Nothing has announced a long-term strategic partnership with iconic British audio pioneer KEF "to usher the company's next chapter in sound". The collaboration brings together KEF's six decades of Hi-Fi audio expertise with Nothing's design-led approach to technology.
Expect this to result in Nothing expanding into new audio categories, and several acoustically co-developed products are already in the works and launching later this year. Remember those Nothing headphones that were rumored in February? KEF might have something to do with them. At least we hope so.
But the company mentions several products, so we're excited to see where this will lead - Nothing earbuds tuned by KEF? That's a very interesting prospect, headphones aside.
The press release says that for Nothing, this partnership lets it diversify its audio offerings and enter new product categories, while for KEF, it "opens new pathways to share its expertise with a wider audience through a fresh design and technology lens".
Andrew Freshwater, Head of Smart Products Marketing at Nothing, said: KEF is one of the most respected names in audio, and we're proud to partner with them as we take the next step in expanding Nothing's audio journey. By combining KEF's decades of expertise with our design-led approach to technology, we're laying the groundwork for a new standard in everyday listening. Our products launching later this year mark the beginning of an exciting new chapter of our collaboration and the future of Nothing Audio.
Grace Lo, President & Head of Global Marketing at KEF, said: At KEF, we've always believed in the power of great sound to inspire and connect people. This partnership allows us to bring our acoustic heritage into a fresh context – working with a brand that shares our dedication to innovation, quality, and design. Together, we're setting out to redefine what premium audio can look and feel like for the next generation.

Nothing releases another Phone (3) teaser image
Late last month, Nothing unveiled the first teaser image depicting a small part of its upcoming Phone (3), and today the company is back with another one. It's still not a full view of any part of the device, it just seems to be a more zoomed-out version of the initial image. It is however looking like Nothing might give up on its transparent-like look for the back of the phone. The company has already confirmed that the Phone (3) won't have the Glyph LED lights on the back, with rumors swirling about the fact that it would be replaced with a customizable dot-matrix display. Phone (3). Ultra-precise engineering. — Nothing (@nothing) June 6, 2025 Clearly, Nothing enjoys teasing us like this, and we fully expect another, even more zoomed-out image to follow in a few days. And so on. The Phone (3) will be made official at an event in London on July 1, alongside the company's first-ever pair of over-ear headphones. Nothing is billing the Phone (3) as its first proper flagship smartphone, but based on the pricing that Nothing CEO Carl Pei revealed, it will probably end up being more of a 'flagship killer' type of device. Still, definitely the highest-end the brand has ever produced, that's for sure.

Sony reportedly cancelling some Xperia 1 VII pre-orders without notice
Shortly after Sony announced the Xperia 1 VII flagship phone, the company launched a pre-order campaign in many European countries with a free set of Sony WH-1000XM5 over-ear headphones.. However, some users on Reddit are reporting an issue with the pre-orders. Many customers are finding out that their order is being cancelled without any prior notice or explanation. A few claim that they were told to place another order, but since the free headphones promo had just expired they might not be receiving them. The reports come from all over the continent, including the Netherlands, Germany, the UK, France and others. And there's still no official statement from the company, so users are left wondering and speculating what the reason could be. It could either be an issue with Sony's systems or it could be the case of the company underestimating the demand for its latest flagship. After all the majority of customers report that their Xperias and Sony headphones are being shipped successfully. Hopefully everyone gets some clarification soon and Sony does things right with its fans. Thank you, Josip, for bringing this to our attention. Source Sony Xperia 1 VII 5G

The phone is coming on July 1. So far, Nothing presented us with devices for the mid-range market. Nevertheless, its phones are unique, recognizable, and still reliable. Now, Carl Pei 's company's first flagship phone may turn out to be a flagship killer. Will it? We'll know quite what to expect from Nothing's first flagship outlet SmartPrix recently revealed that the Nothing Phone 3 may come with a Snapdragon chip at least as powerful as the Dimensity 9400e. This is not the mightiest chip but it's among the flagship-grade ones. Leaks hint at either the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 or even the Snapdragon 8 Elite may power this tipped to feature a larger battery that could exceed 5,000mAh. The exact mAh battery size has not leaked. Nevertheless, the expected bigger battery would be an upgrade over the Nothing Phone (2), which sported a 4,700mAh battery and came with 45W and 15W wireless said to come with Android 15 and Nothing OS 3.0. There will likely be plenty of new AI features, including Nothing's new Essential Space which was unveiled not too long ago with the Nothing Phone (3a) Space is basically an AI hub that you can use to store screenshots, notes, and what have you, and is accessible with a specific key on the (3a) Pro. It's likely Nothing will have this AI prowess on its flagship as and rumors indicate thewill come with 12GB of RAM as a standard. One rumored option is the 12GB of RAM coupled with 256GB of storage, while another, beefier option is said to come with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. Sporting more RAM is likely due to the growing demands from Artificial Intelligence, and also Nothing's aim at producing a real 'flagship' this time by the teaser Nothing shared about the announcement of the device, themay not come with the now recognizable Glyph interface. The teaser suggests an LED-matrix-style animation which may replace the Glyph on the back. This would make for a more functional with the top-notch flagship specs the phone is said to sport, it would signify Nothing changing its focus from pure aesthetics to user experience and build quality.
