The Kitchn: My ‘house dressing' is so good, I make weekly
I love a simple salad with a bright and flavor-packed vinaigrette. For me, this miso lime vinaigrette makes any salad taste extra special. Not only can you whip it up in just under 10 minutes, but it's also filled with bright lime flavor, subtle hints of garlic, and a warm, spicy kick from the fresh ginger.
Miso is the star of the show here. White miso is mild in flavor compared to other types of miso, which makes it perfect for a vinaigrette base. Its subtle sweetness complements the acidity of the rice vinegar and enhances the overall vinaigrette with its umami flavor. The result is a tangy and slightly creamy vinaigrette that will have you reaching for more. One might even say it's better than Caesar salad dressing.
Why you'll love it
So easy, so flavorful. With just a few ingredients, most of which are pantry staples, you can whip up this sweet and tangy dressing in under 10 minutes.
Lime juice is the secret ingredient. Freshly squeezed lime juice goes well with savory white miso and allows the warmth of the ginger to shine through, which makes for a perfectly balanced vinaigrette.
Key ingredients in Miso Lime Vinaigrette
White miso: Serves as the umami base in this vinaigrette, adding just a touch of sweetness as well as savory notes.
Ginger: Adds warmth and a slight kick that balances the acidity of the rice vinegar.
Honey: Brings sweetness to counter the acidity while enhancing the umami flavor with its subtle fruity, floral notes.
Miso Lime Vinaigrette Recipe
Makes 1 cup; serves 8
1/4 cup rice vinegar
1 tablespoon plus 1 1/2 teaspoons white miso paste

Recipe notes
Immersion blender: For a smoother vinaigrette, make in an immersion blender.

Storage: Refrigerate in an airtight container for up to three days. Rewhisk before using.

Iran's Khamenei spurns ‘arrogant' US nuclear-deal proposal
Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei criticized a U.S. proposal for a nuclear deal and called American officials "arrogant" for expecting the Islamic Republic to cease uranium enrichment. Iran and the U.S. have been engaged in negotiations since April in a bid to end a tense, years-long standoff over Tehran's nuclear program and have so far had five rounds of talks mediated by Oman. Addressing crowds of worshipers in the capital Tehran, Khamenei said the latest U.S. plan presented to Iranian diplomats was "100% against our 'can do'" spirit. "The arrogant U.S. leaders keep repeating this demand in various ways. They oppose Iran's progress," he said in the televised speech, adding that Iran's nuclear sector was a "foundation industry" that would be rendered "useless" without uranium enrichment. His comments reinforce Iran's position that it won't bow to U.S. demands that Tehran entirely give up its ability to enrich uranium on its own soil. He didn't give any details about what was in the Trump-administration proposal and while he was heavily critical of the U.S., Khamenei didn't spurn the negotiating process itself or the ultimate goal of brokering a deal. The details of the U.S. proposal haven't been made public. Axios reported on Monday that it allowed some limited, low-level uranium enrichment for a set period of time. On Tuesday, Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said Washington's ideas had "many ambiguities" and lacked clarity. "The U.S.'s main demand is that Iran shouldn't have any nuclear industry at all, to be dependent on them in dozens of important fields, and have no nuclear industry of our own," Khamenei said. Zelenskyy dismisses Russian demands, proposes direct Putin talks
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Russia's maximalist demands mean there's no point in continuing with lower-level talks aimed at brokering an end to the war. Calling Russia's conditions for peace an "ultimatum," Zelenskyy said that he remains willing to meet directly with President Vladimir Putin. But low level talks such as those that took place in Istanbul on Monday make no sense unless they lead to a meeting of the two leaders, he said. "To continue diplomatic meetings in Istanbul at a level that does not resolve anything further is, in my opinion, meaningless," Zelenskyy told reporters in Kyiv on Wednesday. Zelenskyy is upping the pressure on Putin after a pair of audacious attacks against Russian targets in recent days that represented an embarrassing setback for the Kremlin. U.S. special envoy for Ukraine Keith Kellogg said yesterday that additional sanctions on Russian are "ready to drop," based on his conversation with Republican Senator Lindsey Graham. Another prisoner exchange with Russia involving around 500 people is possible over the coming weekend, according to Zelenskyy, who said that Russia was motivated by a desire to avoid further western sanctions. Prisoner exchanges "are going on and should go on, but the Russians are not ready for a ceasefire; at least the delegation level is not ready to resolve this and they believe that this is a matter for the leaders, they told us so themselves," he said. Zelenskyy proposed a ceasefire until a leaders' meeting in a place "of Russia's choice," citing Istanbul, the Vatican, or Switzerland. "If we see that we can continue the dialogue and are ready to take steps towards de-escalation, we will continue the ceasefire with American monitoring and American guarantees of mediation," he said. However, he said a meeting with Putin would also be possible "tomorrow" without such a ceasefire agreement in place. Copyright (C) 2025, Tribune Content Agency, LLC. Trump says US won't agree to any uranium enrichment by Iran
The U.S. will not allow any uranium enrichment as part of any deal with Iran under any deal the countries reach, President Donald Trump said. Trump made the comment in a social media post Monday evening, without elaborating. The U.S. president has regularly signaled that he thinks a deal may be near, and said Iran could face military strikes otherwise. Trump has long pledged that Iran will not have a nuclear weapon. He also said last week that he told Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that a military strike on Iran would be 'inappropriate' right now as 'we're very close to a solution.' Iran, meanwhile, has said it wants clear assurances of the end of sanctions in any deal. The U.S. has not yet been willing to specify how sanctions would be lifted, Iran's Foreign Ministry Spokesman, Esmail Baghaei, said during a press conference in Tehran on Monday. ___ © 2025 Bloomberg L.P.
