CCTV captures wild moment Melbourne homeowner barks like dog to scare off thieves in attempted theft of vehicle
The footage, which has been shared by 7News, shows a hooded person leaping off an Audi sedan parked in the driveway of a Brighton residence while another hooded person inside the vehicle quickly exits the car.
A man can be heard shouting in the background, appearing to mimic a dog, while the pair of intruders escape the property by jumping over the fence behind the car.
'I will kill you, I will f***ing kill you,' the man can be heard screaming as the car, with its lights on and driver and passenger doors wide open, slowly rolls backwards towards the fence.
The man wails his arms as he comes into frame of the home security footage, and barks like a dog as the pair flee the scene.

Teenager attacked by six men armed with machetes at Werribee Plaza shopping centre, southwest Melbourne
A teenager has been allegedly attacked by six men armed with machetes in a shopping centre. The incident targeting the 14-year-old occurred at Werribee Plaza on Heaths Rd in Hoppers Crossing, in Melbourne's southwest, about 4.40pm on Saturday. The boy was rushed to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Police said the six offenders fled the scene in a black Hyundai i30 sedan and remain at large as of Sunday afternoon. The investigation is ongoing. Local residents said they are 'utterly fed up' with the violence and what they see as weak government action on machetes. 'They say, 'Oh, we've made a law that they're not allowed to buy machetes.' Big deal — they don't have to buy them, they've got them already,' one resident told 7NEWS. While it is currently illegal to sell machetes in Victoria, the ban on possessing them will not come into effect until September 1. Just two days before the alleged attack, a brawl broke out in the same shopping centre. In that incident, two people were hospitalised after a knife fight inside JD Sports on Thursday night. Melbourne businessman arrested in Greece over cruel 2023 drive-by shooting after years on the run
A Melbourne businessman has been arrested in Greece over alleged links to a drive-by murder, after years of travelling freely overseas. Christopher Perrone, 32, was taken into custody at Athens International Airport on July 31 when he was reportedly about to board a flight. Perrone's arrest was the sixth related to the underworld killing at Craigieburn Central Shopping Centre in Melbourne's north in October 2023. Robert Issa, 27, was gunned down while sitting in his Mercedes SUV in the shopping centre car park with his friend Eric Catanese. Multiple shots were fired into the passenger side and rear windows, killing Issa and injuring the now 30-year-old Catanese. Victoria Police believe the attack may be connected to Melbourne's illegal tobacco wars. 'This shooting was incredibly violent and it played out in a shopping centre car park in the middle of the afternoon on a Saturday,' Detective Inspector Dean Thomas said. Hours before Perrone's arrest in Greece, five men were arrested following police raids across Melbourne's north and east. They have each been charged with murder, attempted murder and criminal damage by fire. Perrone's younger brothers, Dion and Fabio, are among those charged and are due to face court in December, The Sydney Morning Herald reported. Thomas said the five men are likely 'foot soldiers', while those responsible for planning the attack remain at large. Victoria Police announced a $1 million reward on Monday for information about Issa's murder, particularly targeting those 'further up the chain who ordered, financed and organised the hit'. 'We know there are others out there and we will take every step in this investigation to identify them,' Thomas said. 'We have already made clear we will do everything we can to identify every single person involved in both the planning and the execution, and now there are one million reasons to come forward with any information you may have.' The Sydney Morning Herald reported that Perrone was able to travel freely between Dubai, Turkey, and Greece before his arrest. Whether Perrone will be extradited to Australia will be decided during hearings in Greece. However, with Greek courts closed throughout August, it may be at least a month before a hearing is scheduled.

Young driver allegedly ploughs into house after police chase at Doonside, in western Sydney
A 20-year-old driver has allegedly crashed into a house following an early morning police chase on Sunday. Police allege a black hatchback was spotted driving at speed on Earl St in Doonside, in Sydney's outer west. Just before 2am.
