Celtic transfer bulletin as goal machine target performs U turn and unhappy Matt O'Riley drops Brighton bombshell
Celtic-linked goal machine Youssef El Kachati has stunned Hannover 96 by making an 11th-hour transfer U-turn.
The Moroccan forward is hot property after firing Telstar to Eredivisie promotion and has reportedly attracted interest from Parkhead.

El Kachati - who rattled 25 goals in 45 games for the newly-promoted Dutch minnows - is out of contract this summer and recently revealed he has several offers on the table.

German second-tier outfit Hannover 96 thought they had won the race for the hitman's signature, with Kicker claiming that sporting director Marcus Mann had reached a verbal agreement with the 25-year-old over a free transfer in May.

But various reports in Germany now state that El Kachati has had a change of heart and has set his sights on joining a top-tier club playing in European competition.
And that could leave the door open for Brendan Rodgers to swoop as the Scottish champions search for a successor to Kyogo.
Meanwhile, returning hero Kieran Tierney has delivered his final interview as an Arsenal player as the left-back heads back to Celtic Park.
Tierney - who made 144 appearances for the Gunners - became an instant fans' favourite following his £25million move to the Emirates six years ago.
And the Scotland defender has bid an emotional farewell by sending a special message to his adoring Gooners.

He told the club's media: "Just thank you for everything from day one. They supported us through the good times and the bad, and they supported me through some hard times as well.

"I think that's what I'm most grateful for, the times where it wasn't so good or so easy for me is when they probably supported me most, so I'm just very grateful and I feel very lucky to have the support from them.
"I feel so lucky that I've played for this club and the love that the supporters have given me has been amazing. I've loved every day here and I've learned so much, I've improved so much and I just feel very lucky.
"When I first came in, obviously the club is huge, absolutely massive, but in the league table we were probably where we shouldn't be.
"I think the growth over the last three or four years has been incredible and I think this club and this group of players and the manager are just going to go on to even better things in the future.

"It'll be hard but it's a happy goodbye. I've loved it here, loved every minute of it. There are countless memories that are amazing for me; your debut is always special, and winning the FA Cup as well in the first season.
"It's a great team, and I'm so close to some of the boys in there. I've been here a long time, so it'll be sad but a happy goodbye."
Elsewhere, Matt O'Riley admits he's unhappy at Brighton amid interest from Premier League rivals Everton.

The ex-Celtic star endured a frustrating debut campaign for the Seagulls following last summer's £25m switch from Parkhead and missed a huge chunk of games through injury.

O'Riley, 24, bemoaned the fact he's been unable to play in his favoured position under head coach Fabian Hurzeler, who has used Georginio Rutter in the No. 10 role instead.
Speaking in his homeland, the Denmark international said: "I am not completely happy, and I am just giving my opinion.
'It makes it difficult to show off when you play a position you are not completely happy with. I can play better for the team if I play the number eight position, but I can play well in other positions.
"You can say it in a way that is not aggressive. If you are honest with another person, you don't lose anything. The coach can always say he doesn't agree."

Barcelona unfazed by Bayern Munich's fresh assault for Nico Williams
As reported earlier today, Bayern Munich have made a fresh move for Athletic Club winger and Barcelona target Nico Williams. The 22-year-old attacker is a man in demand, with several top clubs across Europe gunning for his signing. Advertisement However, Barça appear to have everything sorted, with a six-year contract agreed with Nico and work being done to pay his €62 million release clause. But Bayern Munich have now launched a new assault to sign Nico as they see the Spanish international as a key target. Barcelona calm According to MARCA, Barcelona remain calm amid Bayern Munich's latest attempt to hijack the signing of Nico Williams. Bayern Munich are keen to sign Nico. (Photo by) Despite growing reports from Germany that the Bavarians are planning a renewed offensive for the Athletic Club winger, Barça are not losing sleep as there is quiet confidence at the club that the 22-year-old wants to play for them. Advertisement From Barça's side, there is no confirmed intel about a formal Bayern move. But they know it is realistic that other clubs are circling, after all, Nico has a huge market. Still, what matters most to them is the player's own stance. Bayern reached out to Nico's camp recently but were met with rejection. The winger has been clear in recent talks with Barça – his priority is to join them, play at the new Spotify Camp Nou, and link up with close friend Lamine Yamal. That clarity is what gives Barça confidence. As such, they are calm and unfazed despite claims of Bayern's fresh attempt and are moving forward patiently.

Vondroušová stuns top seed Sabalenka in Berlin semi-finals
Czech tennis player Marketa Vondrousova in action against Belarus' Aryna Sabalenka during their women's singles semi-final match of the Berlin Open tennis tournament at Steffi Graf Stadium. Hannes Albert/dpa Former shock Wimbledon champion Markéta Vondroušová is finding her form on grass again after defeating top seed Aryna Sabalenka 6-2, 6-4 in the Berlin semi-finals on Saturday. Liudmila Samsonova, the 2021 Berlin champion, meets Chinese qualifier Wang Xinyu in the second semi later - ahead of Sunday's final of the Wimbledon warm-up. Advertisement Czech Vondroušová was quickly in the ascendancy against the Belarusian, who then wasted the lead in the second set as the world number 164 stormed back. "I enjoy being the underdog," the left hander told the Berlin crowd after beating a world number one for the first time. "I didn't play for a long time," added the Czech, who missed three months due to a shoulder injury. "I'm just happy to be back healthy, and so grateful to play these matches. "When I saw the field here, I was like, 'OK, let's just try to win the first round,' and then, you know, now this is happening." Advertisement Vondroušová's only tournament wins came at the London classic in 2023 - the first ever unseeded women's champion - and in 2017 in Biel/Bienne. She also has a silver medal from the Tokyo Olympics in 2021. This will be her first final since winning Wimbledon but she has now levelled her head-to-head against Sabalenka at 4-4. Wimbledon begins on June 30 and Sabalenka, who has 20 singles crowns including two Australian Opens and one US Open, heads to the third grand slam of the year still without a career title on grass. The Berlin semi came less than 20 hours after Sabalenka's marathon quarter-final against Elena Rybakina in the eastern German heat. The WTA 500 tournament in Berlin's Grunewald, with prize money of around €1 million ($1.15 million), is used annually by many top players to prepare for Wimbledon.

'Out of the blocks' - why Manchester United targeted two quick signings
Signing the best player from Wolves should never be billed as a 'statement signing' by Manchester United but there was a statement of intent with the quick conclusion of the Matheus Cunha deal. Advertisement Cunha's release clause, the Portuguese coterie at United and Ruben Amorim's system made the Brazilian playmaker an obviously attractive target. After Wolves won at Old Trafford on Easter Sunday, the swiftness with which United moved for Cunha meant it would have been a surprise if he had not ended up in their shirt. Buying Premier League quality also laid down a marker. After the world record £80million United parted with to buy Harry Maguire in 2019, they bought one player from a Premier League side (Mason Mount) before this calendar year. READ MORE: Manchester United move for £42.8m Europa League winner amid Andre Onana transfer call READ MORE: Turning tables on Man City, a new building and more - how Man United academy became a force again Advertisement Cunha is a specialist No.10 and an upgrade on United's existing options, bar Bruno Fernandes. Fernandes could be relocated to central midfield if he remains at United beyond the closure of the transfer window. Sources at United spoke about the desire to come out of the blocks in the window. Ideally, they would have two new forwards in the building but Liam Delap chose Chelsea. Minutes after Delap's decision had been reported, United staff in Hong Kong were in a relaxed mood and stressing there were contingency targets. United's season, with 44 league goals and a -10 goal difference, demanded swift action in the market. Now their priority is Bryan Mbeumo, another forward who outscored Cunha with a remarkable 20 league goals last term. Mbeumo represents the best of both worlds. He can switch from attacker to defender, given his experience on the right wing in Brentford's back-three system. His natural skill set is of an attacker, though. Mbeumo was amused to discover he was listed as a midfielder in the Fantasy Premier League last season. Advertisement The looming 'deadline' of June 30 - the end of the financial year - and the rejection of United's opening offer of up to £55m for Mbeumo has caused activity to slow down. Deals were practically done for Joshua Zirkzee and Leny Yoro in early July last year and there is bound to be movement next month. United leave for their pre-season tour of the United States on July 22 - four weeks on Tuesday. Before that, their friendly schedule begins against Leeds United in Norway (again) on July 19. United are still guarded as to the official return date for their players but the week beginning July 7 would be logical (it was July 8 last year). In previous summers, United have finalised signings after the start of the pre-season tour only to welcome new players at their base. Sergio Romero, Fred and Andre Onana flew to the United States in 2015, 2018 and 2023. United decided not to summon Christian Eriksen to Australia in 2022. This summer is a rarity in that there is no international tournament. After the 2026 World Cup, another Africa Cup of Nations is scheduled for summer 2027, then is the European Championship and the Copa America in 2028. Having Cunha and Mbeumo in Chicago would be another statement.
