She said that as a fan of SRK, it was 'painful' for her to play the role, and she said that it would be a nightmare for any Shah Rukh Khan fan. She explained that in the film, her role was not actually that of Shah Rukh's mother – that part was played by Deepika Padukone. However, since the makers didn't want to label Deepika's character as the mother, so she became 'Kaveri Amma'. In an interview with Indian Express, Ridhi Dogra said, 'SRK is eternally young. I am playing a mother to Shah Rukh Khan. That's ridiculous. That's the stuff nightmares are made of. That's a nightmare for every Shah Rukh fan. I was directly called to meet Atlee on the sets of Jawan. I was very happy, but I didn't know where I was going and what was happening. After reaching there, I realized that they were shooting Jawan, the whole set was ready. Atlee explained the role to me, and I was like, 'No, what makes you think I am this person?'"
