Amravati: Maratha reservation activist Manoj Jarange on Wednesday called on Prahar Janshakti Party president and former minister Bacchu Kadu at Gurukunj Mozari and extended his support to him.
Kadu, who has launched indefinite hunger strike over the pressing demands concerning persons with disabilities, farmers, agricultural laborers, widows, unemployed youth, shepherds, and fishermen communities since Sunday last, also received support from Mahadeo Jankar and Nilesh Lanke, MP.
On the fourth day of the hunger strike, Jarange and Jankar visited the protest site and expressed solidarity with Kadu's agitation.
The agitation has been receiving overwhelming support from various political parties and social organisations. Prahar Janshakti Party activists have launched agitation at various places in Amravati district to express solidatry with Kadu's agitation.

From my own experience with hunger strikes, I know it is not an easy path. The fact that he has used the term 'final journey' is extremely serious. I urge him to take care of his health."
Jarange appealed to chief minister Devendra Fadnavis, deputy CMs Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar to urgently address the demands of the protesting farmers. If their voices go unheard, farmers will have no choice but to take to the streets, he warned.
Emphasizing unity among communities, Jarange stated, "In this movement, there are no Marathas or OBCs, we must set aside caste differences and stand united as farmers. All farmer leaders must immediately convene a joint meeting and extend support to this protest. A statewide Maharashtra bandh must be announced. Not a single vehicle should move that day. We have the will to act, and we are ready to leave politics aside for this fight.
"
Kadu thanked Jarange for his unwavering support and reiterated the urgency of the matter. "Every day, 20 to 25 farmers are ending their lives. Imagine the pain when a farmer is forced to sell soybeans for just Rs3,500 per quintal after months of hard labor. This injustice must end," Kadu said.
Senior leader Girish Gandhi was also present at the protest site, showing cross-party solidarity for the farmers' cause.
Mahadeo Jankar, president of Rashtriya Samaj Party, too criticized Mahayuti govt, accusing it of coming to power through alleged EVM manipulation and being intoxicated by power.
He warned the govt not to compel people to sacrifice their lives and called for united action against the administration's neglect of farmers, the underprivileged, Dalits, and tribal communities.
Hunger strike enters Day 4
The indefinite hunger strike demanding justice for farmers has entered its fourth day today even as Bachchu Kadu's health has reportedly started to deteriorate. According to the administration, he has lost nearly 4 kg weight and is experiencing high blood pressure.
Several farmer organisations, disability rights groups, and public representatives visited the protest site to extend their support to Kadu's cause. The growing support reflects the seriousness of the issues raised.
Team of doctors deployed
In view of the ongoing agitation, the district administration has taken precautionary measures and deployed a special team of expert doctors to monitor health condition of Kadu and other protestors.
The collector's office has directed the civil surgeon and medical superintendent of the Divisional Referral Service Hospital and Super Specialty Hospital to conduct regular health check-ups of Kadu and other protestors.
A two-member expert medical team, including a doctor from the Super Specialty Hospital, has been appointed. This team will carry out health examinations twice a day and submit detailed reports with necessary recommendations to the district administration twice daily.
Prior to this, Kadu had submitted memorandums to the authorities on May 24 and June 4 regarding the same demands and informed about the agitation. District Collector Ashish Yerekar has instructed the concerned officials to take all necessary precautions to ensure the safety and well-being of the protestors.

500,000 immigrants affected: Trump admin revokes humanitarian parole for these 4 nations; tells them to leave US

The Trump administration has begun notifying hundreds of thousands of immigrants from Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua and Venezuela that their temporary permission to live and work in the United States has been revoked, and they must leave the country immediately, according to a statement by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) on Thursday. The notices are being sent via email to individuals who entered the country under a humanitarian parole program initiated by the Biden administration in October 2022. Approximately 532,000 people from the four nations had been granted two-year permits under the program, which allowed them to live and work in the US with financial sponsorship. DHS confirmed that the letters state their work authorization and legal status are now 'effective immediately' terminated. The agency encouraged those affected to leave voluntarily through a mobile application called CBP Home, promising a travel stipend and a $1,000 payment upon return to their home country. However, the department offered no details on how it would track departures or distribute payments. The decision follows the US Supreme Court's ruling last month that allowed the Trump administration to dismantle the program, which the former president had vowed to eliminate, calling it an example of 'broad abuse' of the humanitarian parole system. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like This Wrinkle Cream Keeps Selling Out At Costco (Find Out Why) The Skincare Magazine Undo 'This is a deeply destabilizing decision,' said Krish O'Mara Vignarajah, president of Global Refugee.
