Jordan Condemns Far-Right Israeli Minister's Storming of Al-Aqsa Mosque - Jordan News
The Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates strongly condemned the storming of Al-Aqsa Mosque / Al-Haram Al-Sharif by Israel's far-right Minister of National Security Itamar Ben Gvir, along with other members of the Israeli government and Knesset, accompanied by large groups of extremist settlers. The incursion coincided with the so-called "Flag March" and was marked by provocative actions that Jordan deems unacceptable violations of the historic and legal status quo and of Israel's obligations as an occupying power. اضافة اعلان In a statement, the Ministry stressed that these repeated violations by extremist ministers do not alter the fundamental reality that East Jerusalem is an occupied territory, and Israel has no sovereignty over it under international law. The Ministry's spokesperson, Ambassador Sufyan Al-Qudah, reiterated Jordan's unequivocal rejection and strong condemnation of the actions by Minister Ben Gvir, members of the Israeli government and Knesset, and extremist settlers, stating that the facilitation of these incursions by Israeli police constitutes a blatant breach of international law and humanitarian law. He emphasized that such actions are part of a systematic attempt to impose new realities on the ground, including the temporal and spatial division of Al-Aqsa Mosque, and serve to escalate tensions, especially amidst Israel's ongoing military campaign in Gaza and increasing aggression in the occupied West Bank. Ambassador Al-Qudah warned of the dangerous repercussions of continued violations and demanded that Israel, as the occupying power, immediately halt all provocative actions by Minister Ben Gvir and extremist settlers. He described these practices as part of a broader policy by Israel's far-right government to escalate violence across Palestinian territories, including incursions into Palestinian cities.
He also reaffirmed that Al-Aqsa Mosque, in its entirety of 144 dunums, is a solely Muslim place of worship, and that the Jordanian-run Jerusalem Awqaf Department, under the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, remains the exclusive legal authority responsible for managing the mosque and regulating access to it.

Maintenance work on the Royal Highway from Dlagha checkpoint to Ras Al-Naqab in Ma'an Governorate has been tendered and awarded for 370,000 dinars. These initiatives represent a significant investment in Tafilah's infrastructure and service networks, reinforcing the governorate's position on Jordan's national development map.
