Celtic granted permission to open talks with top transfer target with two more wingers added to Hoops watch list
CELTIC have been granted permission to hold talks with hitman Benjamin Nygren.
SunSport revealed earlier this week that the £2million Nordsjaelland attacker was on Brendan Rodgers' wishlist.

The Hoops have now made a move — but face some stiff competition in the race for the 23-year-old's signature.
Copenhagen and Anderlecht are keen on Nygren, but interest has emerged from the Bundesliga and MLS too, and Nordsjaelland chiefs will allow him to speak to any interested club.
The Sweden star only has six months left on his contract, and his club are ready to let him leave for a cut-price £2m fee now.
Nygren scored 16 goals last season, and also netted twice in four international appearances.
He has previously said that he wants to play in a top-five European league.
But the Hoops can potentially offer the carrot of Champions League football next season.
And their track record at developing players will also appeal to the Swede.
Nygren, who started his senior career at IFK Gothenburg, blossomed as a goal scoring attacking midfielder for Nordsjaelland.
He can also play on either wing or up front, and captained the Danish club last term.
Rodgers is keen to add more creativity in midfield and Nygren has been identified as a top addition.

Celtic have already snapped up Kieran Tierney on a five-year deal from Arsenal.
Ross Doohan will arrive from Aberdeen as a back-up keeper, while 19-year-old Fulham hitman Callum Osmand is poised to sign.
Celts are also looking at wingers, with Sarpsborg ace Sondre Orjasaeter a potential target.
Anderlecht kid Nilson Angulo has been watched, but the 21-year-old Ecuadorian insists he's ignoring all links.
He said: 'I'm focused on Anderlecht, I want to get back there and we'll see what happens.
'Next season, I need to improve on small details, like my finishing and as I play more matches for my club and my national team, I'll improve.
'I'm really happy with what we've achieved and proud of the group. We're prepared and focused on the World Cup.'

Celtic 'expected' to complete Benjamin Nygren signing
The 23-year-old scored 16 goals in 32 games for Danish top-flight outfit Nordsjaelland last season. The Parkhead club have been linked with a move for Nygren over the past 48 hours, and now well-placed Belgian journalist Sacha Tavolieri claims that the player has chosen to join Celtic over Anderlecht following talks. Read more: The Swede is now expected to complete his move to Glasgow's east end. 🚨☘️ RSC #Anderlecht now considers Benjamin Nygren's going to Celtic FC ! After talks with his representatives, #RSCA understood Nygren choose for the Scottish club over them. The Swedish's now expected to complete his move to Premiership. #mercato #JPL — Sacha Tavolieri (@sachatavolieri) June 13, 2025 Recently addressing his future, Nygren admitted he will leave Nordsjaelland: "It's clear that there is a lot of interest," he told fotbollskanalen. "I have done extremely well this whole season. I have scored 15 goals and a few assists in a position as a number ten. "I am not a number nine who will score goals but more of a player who will create chances and set up others. "But this season I have scored a lot of goals and shown my qualities. I did that last season too, and I was injured for half of that season. "It is a league and a team that has a lot of interest and eyes on them, and I have been a big contributing factor to us being as good as we have been. "I will leave. I'm not thinking about the league, but more about coming to a club that shares my ambitions and that believes in me." Brendan Rodgers has already added Kieran Tierney to his ranks this summer. It now looks like Nygren could become Celtic's second signing of the window.

Russell Martin will bridge Rangers to Celtic chasm if board meet hefty demand made by Norwich and Ibrox old boy
Kyle Lafferty spent three years at Carrow Road with the new Rangers boss and says 'major shift' should excite fans Kyle Lafferty believes Russell Martin can get Rangers closer to Celtic and challenge for the title - IF he's backed by the new owners. The former Ibrox striker is excited about what his old Norwich City skipper can achieve at his boyhood club. Lafferty says the gap between the Old Firm last term was too big and he expects Martin to bridge it in his first year in the job. But the Northern Irishman is adamant that Gers' new manager needs a hefty transfer kitty from American tycoon Andrew Cavenagh if they want to stop Celtic doing five-in-a-row. Lafferty, who spent five years at Rangers over two spells, told Record Sport: 'How quickly Russell can implement his ideas depends on the backing he gets from the new owners. 'You can throw a manager in and make promises. But if he doesn't get the funds, he'll struggle. 'I expect us to be closer to Celtic this year. Being 17 points behind them last season was unacceptable, just not good enough. 'When I played, we always had it in our heads that if we won the Old Firm games, we'd win the league. 'Last season, Rangers did well in the derby games but lacked something elsewhere. It will definitely be closer this year under Russ. 'I've no doubt that he will excite supporters. But it all comes down to the backing he gets.' Lafferty spent three years with Martin as a team-mate at Carrow Road and believes Rangers have made a shrewd appointment. He's looking forward to seeing a complete change in his old club's style of play, compared to previous boss Philippe Clement. But he's warned Martin that - after years of failure at Ibrox - lifting silverware should be his number one priority. Lafferty said: 'This will be a total shift for Rangers. Previously at the club, it's just all been about winning and getting the job done. 'But Russ will want to play a certain style of football - while knowing he has to win at the same time. 'At the end of the day, putting trophies in the cabinet again is all that matters. 'Too many managers at Rangers who have been and gone just haven't produced. 'Fergie (Barry Ferguson) came in and won some big games. In two Old Firms, we didn't lose one. 'That made Rangers fans proud again and Russ has to do the same.'
