Green-fingered Brits are racing to snap up a 50p buy to transform their gardens – and it sells for £3 elsewhere
WITH different tools required, mulch, soil and pots, gardening - though relaxing - can oftentimes be quite expensive.
Luckily, if you're on a mission to transform your outside space on the cheap, you've come to the right place.

Cash-savvy Brits are racing to a lesser-known discount store after spotting a buy that can take your garden from drab to fab for just 50p - and it's six times more expensive elsewhere.
One green-fingered gardening enthusiast, Jeni Herriman, took to Facebook to inform fellow shoppers about the epic deal.
According to the woman - one of the 2.6million members of the Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK group - a mega discount store is flogging gorgeous blooms for a jaw-dropping price that's too good to miss.
She wrote in her post: ''Cracking bargain from farmfoods! Didn't know they'd starting selling plants.
''These can cost between £2/£3 for one at garden centres so well chuffed.''
While Farmfoods are selling a six-pack of stunning Saxifraga blooms for just £3 in total - which works out to be 50p per pot - the same flowers will set you back £3 for just one pot elsewhere.
Ideal as gap fillers or neatly arranged in a hanging pot, these vibrant blossoms are perfect for injecting a dose of colour into your outdoor space.
What's more, some green-fingered Brits have noted, these plants will also come back year after year - making them a truly wonderful option.
Thanks to their hardy nature, Saxifraga plants can be grown directly outside on arrival, whether that's into the border or in a pot.
They prefer dappled shade and can survive well in a rockery display, explained the experts at J. Parker's.
The £14.50 Wickes buy people are swearing by to get rid of weeds on their driveway for GOOD
What's more, Saxifraga isn't often bothered by pests and diseases.
They are hardy plants and will withstand harsh winters without the need for lifting - it truly is a win-win.
Since being shared online, the news has already taken the platform by storm, winning Jeni 120 likes and over a dozen of comments.
One gardening super fan said: ''I bought mine about 2 weeks ago from Farmfoods. They are doing great in the ground.''

Outdoor lighting - 66%
Sturdy decking - 62%

''I love these plants, bought a few of them at B&Q 2 years ago and they're so pretty and good gap fillers,'' another chimed in.
''I'll take a look to see if our store has them,'' someone else thanked Jeni for flagging the deal.

Upgrade your front door in seconds with Lidl's £8 buy – it adds instant bursts of colour & lasts all summer
A BUDGET buy can instantly level up your outdoor space this summer. Lidl shoppers can elevate their garden with a splash of colour that lasts until autumn. 2 Placing this middle aisle buy by your front door can elevate the look of your home. The shop's Large Hanging Planters are available for just £7.99 from Thursday, June 12. They include a wide variety of flowers, including Sutera, Lobelia, Calibrachoa, Petunia, and Verbena. And if these plants aren't enough to brighten up your space, you can also choose from a variety of colour options for the basket. Shoppers can opt for purple, pink, red, purple, or white baskets. The pot itself is fully UV resistant, making it perfect for placing outdoors all summer long. These hanging baskets measure around 29 centimetres to 35 centimetres. As well as adding a splash of colour to your space, they can also help level up your garden's privacy. According to the experts at Monrovia, you can use staggered hanging planters to create a natural separation from the outside world. Placing the baskets at different levels can provide a more natural barrier for your outdoor space. I transformed my garden patio into summer haven for less than £100 with cheap B&M buys including gadget to keep bugs out "It creates the sense of separation without shouting 'keep out,'" the pros explained. They also highlighted the importance of taking care of your planters, recommending regular watering in hot weather. Or you can opt for a more classic privacy product to shield your garden from public view. Amazon also has a £14 privacy buy that is described as "perfect" for summer. Another privacy fence is also available from Amazon, for just £5. How to create privacy in your garden CREATING privacy in your garden can be achieved in a number of ways depending on your budget, and the size of your space. Here are some effective ways to enhance privacy in your garden: 1. Fencing Install a tall, solid wooden or vinyl fence. This is one of the most straightforward ways to gain immediate privacy. Or use lattice panels, trellis, or slatted fencing to add a decorative touch while still offering privacy. 2. Hedges and Plants Fast-growing evergreen shrubs or trees like Leylandii, Thuja, or Bamboo along the boundary of your garden can help with privacy. Grow a dense hedge using plants like Boxwood, Privet, or Laurel. It may take time to grow, but it provides a natural and green privacy screen. Use climbers like Ivy, Clematis, or Wisteria on fences or trellises to create a lush, green privacy barrier. 3. Outdoor Curtains Hang outdoor curtains around pergolas, gazebos, or patios for an easy-to-adjust privacy solution. 4. Sound Barriers A water fountain or small waterfall can help drown out noise, adding to the sense of privacy. Or install fencing designed to reduce noise if privacy from sound is also a concern. B&Q has an affordable privacy fence currently on sale, and you can put it up yourself. And a £10 B&M product adds inches to your fence, elevating your garden's privacy. You can also add a stylish touch to your privacy fence with another B&M buy. A £3 buy from B&M is can also help to add privacy to your garden this summer. And its not just fences that can help give you privacy in your garden, one B&M item can help shield you from nosy neighbours and the sun.

David Beckham to guest edit Country Life
David Beckham is to guest edit Country Life. The former England captain, who admitted to reading every edition 'cover-to-cover', will take control of the magazine for an issue in October. The news of his editorship was announced in Wednesday's edition. Mark Hedges, the editor-in-chief, said: 'As soon as we were introduced, David told me how much he loves Country Life. 'He reads every issue from cover to cover and it's been a great companion to him as he's developed his own life in the countryside.' Beckham grew up in Leytonstone, London, but now lives in a £12 million countryside manor near Chipping Norton in Oxfordshire. He has said that nature has become an important part of his life. Previous guest editors of the magazine have included the King and the Princess Royal. Beckham said: 'I am honoured to have been invited to guest edit an edition of a magazine that I have always admired and read. 'I am really looking forward to working with the editorial team to produce an issue that will celebrate what the countryside and the great British landscape mean to me and my family.' Mr Hedges added: 'I'm absolutely delighted that David has agreed to guest edit the magazine, especially as it will be my 1,000th issue since I became editor. 'This one-off edition will feature David Beckham's favourite view and his best-loved recipe, as well as his rural champions and the craftsmen and women who have helped to shape his home in the Cotswolds, together with an insight into how the countryside has come to play an increasingly important role in his life. 'I know he has a deep love of the countryside, which has grown since he retired as a professional footballer. 'As a global football icon, with a passion for the countryside, his dogs, chickens, bees and his garden – notably trees, roses and vegetables – I'm excited to see what his special commemorative issue will bring.' Country Life is a weekly magazine that celebrates nature and the English countryside and has been in print since 1897. It features articles on rural communities, hobbies and politics. Beckham celebrated his 50th birthday this year and is expected to be given a knighthood in the King's birthday honours on Saturday.
