Teen girls assaulted by ‘masked man' in Mission park: RCMP

Mounties are appealing for witnesses and information after a 'masked man' assaulted two teens in a Mission park Friday night.
Officers were called to Centennial Park around 9 p.m. after witnesses reported the incident, the Mission RCMP said Sunday.
'A masked man kicked one of the girls off her e-scooter, causing her to fall to the ground, and also pushed the other girl to the ground. The man attempted to take the girl's scooter but left it and instead stole an iPhone from one of the girls, which had fallen onto the ground,' a statement from the detachment said.
'It was still daylight at the time and there were numerous other people in the park and outside in the area. A good neighbour ran up to intervene, and the offender ran off.'
The girls, who are 15 and 16, suffered minor injuries.
The RCMP has released images of a suspect, who is described as a white man wearing a ski mask and black clothing.
'He was not known to the girls,' according to police.
Anyone with information is urged to call 604-826-7161 and quote file number 25-6584. People who live near Grand Street and 14th Avenue are also being asked to review CCTV video to see if it captured any images of the suspect.

Silver alert issued over missing adult: police
The Winnipeg Police Service is asking for the public's help in finding Alexa Smith. (WPS) The Winnipeg Police Service (WPS) is requesting the public's assistance in finding a missing adult as part of a silver alert. Alexa Smith, 32, was last seen near Harbison Avenue West and Watt Street at approximately 10 a.m. on Sunday, according to police. 1 dead, 6 others injured in collision in King Township: York police
Social Sharing One person is dead after a two-vehicle crash in King Township Sunday, said York police. The collision happened in the Jane Street and 16th Sideroad area just after 2:15 p.m. One person was pronounced dead, police said. Six other people were injured, but are in stable condition, police said. Roads in the area will be closed for investigation. Any witnesses are being asked to contact York police.
